Crown and Anchor Society Coupons On-Board

Recommended Posts

We are members of the Crown and Anchor (gold members) and had heard that RCC gives free coupons, etc. to its members on-board? Is this true for all of their members, or just at certain levels? Just curious to see if we will receive anything...

Thanks for any info! :D

The coupons are not worth much as far as I'm concerned. 10 complimentary internet minutes, 2 for 1 cocktails/soda/water, $5.00 match play, 5% gift shop discount on logo merchandise, photo credit (also buy one first 5 x 7). That's what you get. Maybe the drink is worthwhile, though not to us.

Thanks for the info! Are the coupons in our room when we arrive, or do we have to pick them up somewhere?

If they are not in your room by the end of the first day, just ask your room attendant for them. They normally are there by dinnertime at the latest. Different levels get different coupons. For example - Gold gets buy one/get one beer or wine, Platinum gets a free beer or wine. Shop % is higher for higher leves, and so one. We always use at least 3 or 4 of the coupons. Always fun to see what is in there.

Our coupons have NEVER been in the cabin upon our arrival (watch, next time they will be, just to make a liar out of me!). We usually get them the second or third day.

Our last cruise was our first as Platinum members and I had heard that your pins would be in your cabin when you got there. NOT! I had to ask the LA (well, her assistant) 3 or 4 times and he kept insisting I would get them that day. Finally, on the last day I tracked down the LA and asked her and she had to search all over for 2 pins!!! They never would have shown up in our cabin.

Pins? Good thing I don't care about pins, we never got any pins on our first Platinum cruise (which was our last cruise). Did have robes in the closet--at least, I think those were because we were platinum, not because we were in a JS. We have never had the coupons waiting when we first entered the stateroom. sometimes first evening--and sometimes later than that.

We also have only sometimes had the champagne & strawberries i had pre-ordered and pre-paid for waiting in the stateroom when we first enter. So I have stopped ordering it--the whole point was to make a welcome aboard impression on DW and DS (the chocolate covered strawberries were for DS).

I will say that while everyone's experience will differ, and so much can depend upon your cabin attendant, we have had much better experience on Disney on issues like this--the champagne, strawberries, gifts for their returning cruiser program, etc., are always all waiting for us form the first time we enter the stateroom. That said, the single best stateroom attendant we ever had was on Enchantment in 2/06, but we've overall had better consistency for good service in 5 DCL cruises than our 5 RCI cruises. We'll see how this weekend's 6th RCI cruise goes.

Our coupon book was in the room when we arrived. Our gold gift (picture frames) came a few days later.

Another coupon (if you are on a ship that has one) is a free meal at Johny Rockets (drinks not included).

Also, in addition to the match play casino coupon, there was one for $2 on $10 in the casino- they just give you $2, so who can complain with this one?:D

Enjoy!

The coupons will 99.9% of the time be in your cabin. Just hang in there they get better as you go along. Platnium is better than Gold and Diamon is better than Platnium. You will eveutally get free photos, 10% off, $2 for each $10 in the casino (6 coupons) free speciality coupons, and then yopu start getting a phone number for C&A for $200 off cabin and OBC and saving certificates. Our Feb cruise $215 off savings certificate $200 C&A discount, $200 OBC. So it gets better.

We've always had the coupons in our room when boarding. We have never had to ask for them. Probably on our next cruise they will not be there but don't worry, I will ask for them. It is nice as your level goes up so do the coupons you get. One of these days we will be Diamond +.

We're also only Gold members. I thought the coupons were a nice gesture. I used the internet minutes, the 2 for 1 cocktails and the logo merchandise discount. I think we had a coupon for Ben and Jerry's but we never used it.

Anyway, better than nothing. :)

We're Platinum now. Wonder what the difference will be.

A note to those who are not finding them in your cabin: you have to give your C&A number when you book for this to happen.

Even if you don't drink liquor, the 2 for 1 drink thing can be used for bottled water.

Better discounts is what you will get. You will have 2 $2 for $10 in play casino coupons meaning you get $4 for free for not playing. The diamond/diamond + booklet has 3 of the $2 coupons in it. And there's free stuff in the diamond booklet, too. Instead of discounts or buy one get one coupons you get free Seattle's best coffee, a free Ben & Jerry's peace pop, free portrait.

I appreciate all the coupons. If you're going to buy RCI logo stuff from the gift shop, it's nice to get a discount.

Sometimes the coupons are in my cabin upon arrival, sometimes they come in the evening. I've never asked for them and always gotten them at some point the first day. The same can be said for robes. Some stewards wait until the evening turn down to place them in the cabin. Some have them waiting.

I'm not going to buy logo stuff, but I'll sure appreciate the free money and the coffee. 12 more days!

You mean they actually give you a whole B & J's peace pop for free instead of for 75% off??? I've always thought it was so bogus that they just didn't give you a free coupon for the overpriced stuff anyway.

On our last cruise we didn't get our C & A coupons until I asked our cabin steward about them. nd it wasn't because they didn't have our C & A numbers on the reservation. I am a fanatic about details like that.

If I already have a reservation but did not have the C&A numbers when I booked through TA can I have the numbers added to the reservation (which is for next April) ????? I did get & activate my numbers from the C&A customer support via on-line.

How do I have the numbers added to our reservation?

Our coupon books have usually been on our bed when we get to our cabin on our day of arrival. And, while they may not be of much value to some people you do get a coupon for Johnny Rockets, a free photo, 10% off at the souvenior shop, wine tasting, $5 match play in the casine, $12 for $10 at the casino, % off at the spa, a discount on internet minutes and it does add up but only if you use them. And each level of C&A gets more and better coupons.

You can either have your TA add the numbers or you can go to the RCI website and pull up your reservation and add the numbers yourself. At the main page choose "Before you Board" then choose "On line check-in". You do not have to complete the entire check-in process at any one time. You can fill in your C & A numbers, save your work and exit the reservation.

Our coupon books were also waiting in our cabin on the very first day.

I forgot to mention that there was also a coupon for a discount for a spa service, which I used. Like another poster mentioned, they're a good deal if you take advantage of them. If I'm not mistaken, the last time we sailed with my parents, they were diamond members, and I think they had coupons for 2 free bottles of wine. So they definitely get better the higher up you are.

In addition to the coupons, you also receive some RC swag during the week; pictures frames, tote bags, etc. (The kind of stuff you see for sale on Ebay)

Now that I have your attention. Fiance & I were on AOS 5/6. My 1st on RCI, her 2nd RCI. In the room on checkin we found 1 coupon book that included a coupon good for $200 OBC on any cruise booked onboard. About 4th day of the cruise we decided to book a Panama Canal cruise for next year and used the $200 coupon for OBC. After we returned we transferred the booking to our TA and received a tidy additional $400 OBC. In the last 2 weeks my C&A membership finally activated and thru rollcall I learned of an additional $125 C&A coupon available for the Canal sailing. Forwarded the coupon to TA & it was just redeemed. So, net is $125 discount from C&A; $200 OBC from C&A & $400 OBC from TA. I don't really care about the $1 off coupons.
