gill_boo Posted September 28, 2007 #1 Share Posted September 28, 2007 I know there is a $3.95 cover charge at Johnny Rockets, do you also have to pay for the food as well, or is that included as part of the cruise?
Sue L Posted September 28, 2007 #2 Share Posted September 28, 2007 the cover charge covers all the food but you do have to pay for drinks just like anyplace else.
powelweb Posted September 28, 2007 #3 Share Posted September 28, 2007 food is free- they usually bring french fries and onion rings right to the table when you're seated. the drinks are extra. happy sailing Wendy
clearwaters Posted September 29, 2007 #4 Share Posted September 29, 2007 Can u use your soft drink card for sodas at JR's?
STEVE-O Posted September 29, 2007 #5 Share Posted September 29, 2007 Your SeaPass with the sticker...they'll honor it with no questions....We did, 3 times, 2 weeks ago. In fact, the waiter brought the pop in glasses so he wouldn't have to re-fill the soda-package cup a bunch of times during the meal.... Make sure you stay long enough to see the waiters dance....it's worth the cover charge

Steamboatin Posted September 29, 2007 #7 Share Posted September 29, 2007 I am sorry but it simply amazes me. People pay thousands of dollars to take a cruise with fine food options but instead go pay extra to eat at a hamburger joint on the cruise vessel.:D :D
4gomez Posted September 29, 2007 #8 Share Posted September 29, 2007 Ditto to that. Can't you get that type of food elsewhere on the ship if you just had to have a burger and fries? Joe
Silvery Seas Cruiser Posted September 29, 2007 #9 Share Posted September 29, 2007 Some folks lose far, far more than the cost of a Johnny Rockets' meal in the Casino. Some spend far more than the cost of a JR meal on alcohol. Or spend huge bucks in the spa. Some choose to stay in a big suite rather than a simple OV or Inside stateroom. Or they pay for special classes in the gym when the weights and weight machines, treadmills, etc are free. On a seven day cruise, it is nice to have the JR option. Who wants to eat in the dining room three times a day every day on a seven day cruise for example? It is all in what you want to do with your money. Plus there is no telling what these same folks are doing on land with their money. Their choices for the use of their money may make even less sense than $3.75 at Johnny Rockets. Joe It's called "having a choice". No one is forced to do this. If one wants a free burger then go to the WJ. :)

Brad1185 Posted September 29, 2007 #12 Share Posted September 29, 2007 The charge is outrageous and RCI should go back to JR being included. The one coupon you get is insulting.

Your opinion and that's fine but there are enough of us that like it the way that it is. No kids or crowds to deal with. It's obvious that the small surcharge is working as they continue to add JR's to their fleet.

Maybe they feel like they are getting more by paying extra than when it was included.

We had a great experience compared to those who sailed before and complained about the number of teens AND wasted food. Never had one. I usually fill up on fries and onion rings and do not want dessert.:) Me too :D I made an a@@ out of myself the first time I went to the JR's here in AZ. I thought the fries and onion rings were always included, they are not :D ###
