Munchies At Midnight

We'll be on the Enchantment of the Sea in January.

Previously we have cruised on Navagator and Mariner and loved the Cafe Promenade for Midnight Munchies. Loved those little sandwiches and great desserts.

Aside from Room Service, what options will we have on Enchantment and what types of food are available?

Usually, at midnight, Room Service is the only option......but I *love* room service!

(I haven't been on the Enchantment for a 4 or 5 day cruise, so I don't know if they have a midnight buffet one night. Sometimes there are crew passing out little trays of bites of food late at night in some of the lounges.)

vision class ships (like enchantment) are not known for the late night food choices (which really seems bizarre). When I was on Vision, had to resort to room service late at night. That said, I do think they will have the midnight munchies trays in the bars and lounges.

This is one complaint I have had on RCCL. At certain times, it is hard to find food (besides room service). On Princess, there is ALWAYS good, hot food in the buffet 24 hrs.

Before the CL lounge was one of my options I hated that you couldn't get coffee at three or four in the morning.

May I be so bold as to ask...

With food served all day and late into the night, how did you get the Midnight Munchies? Ooooh that smell, Can't you smell that smell, Ooooh that smell...

May I suggest room service...works for me every time!:p :)

Would this be one of your missing cruise photos?:D

There is pizza in the Solarium until well past midnight. Hamburgers, hotdogs and french fries are sometimes there, too. There will be at least one midnight buffet. And as others have said, there is always room service.

NOBODY NEEDS TO BE EATING AGAIN AT MIDNIGHT OR LATER.

When us old folks go to bed, they don't "roll up the sidewalks" on a cruise ship. Lots of people sleep late and stay up late, therefore, they eat late. Also, teenagers can be 24-hour eating machines! Everybody is on vacation and a lot won't be on their regular schedules for eating. So, LOTS of people may be eating at midnight or later. :)

Hate to differ, but our most recent cruise on the Crown Princess (first cruise on Princess, BTW) left a lot to be desired as far as the food goes. Burgers and pizza stopped at 9:00 pm. Late nite bistro was available from 11:00 pm to 4:00 am, but very limited. Even the International Cafe was only open until 11:00 pm. Room service very limited, also and pizzas ordered via room service also stopped at 9:00 pm. Now, granted, this could have been due to the itinerary; we sailed Canada and New England. Maybe the hours and food choices are different on the Caribbean sailings, but where we went, we found it quite limited. Now, we have not sailed RCCL since Jan 2002 but we are going back to RCCL and hope that we won't be disappointed.

We were on the Caribbean Princess in January and found good munchies to me late at night in the very back of the buffet, whatever the back one is called. The front buffet was closed so we didnt find them until a couple of nights later. We thought the late night snacks were great.

Everybody has different tastes and I have noticed really good reviews of the food on the Caribbean Princess, so I think that there were some changes on the Crown Princess, maybe due to the itinerary, that affected the food selections. Not sure, but the blue book that contains all of the helpful information on the ship had different times from those listed on the quick reference dining and bar guide that we found with our Patters. In fact, the blue book listed the International Cafe as open 24 hours a day and that was not the case on our sailing; open only until 11:00 pm. The staff of the International Cafe could then be found in the Cafe Caribe manning the late night bistro which had no where near the same types of food that one would see on RCCL's late night buffets. Not a big deal, but yet the food selections overall are one of the reasons that we will sail next on RCCL.

This was one of the complaints I had about our Enchantment cruise in May, no food to be found while out and about on the ship after a fun night in the casino or dancing in the disco. On Carnival, you can always go up and grab a slice of pizza and an ice cream, and enjoy a snack before returning to your cabin for the night.

This time, we'll consider grabbing some pizza earlier in the day, and keeping it in our fridge.

Did not know that but will still try EOS in February. You are so right, though, Carnival always has good stuff to eat. Their pizza is the best as is the soft serve ice cream. Do all the cabins on EOS have a fridge?

There is food out and about well past midnight on Enchantment - just stop by the solarium. In my opinion the pizza has become much better on RCI ships Enchantment and Majesty both. It has become far superior to Carnival's pizza which I had on Fantasy last April. I used to think Carnival had the better pizza but this has changed.

I liked the french fries on Enchantment at midnight, too. All after a night in the Casino.
