Haunted Cruise Ships? Weird feeling on Enchantment

The two cups that hit the floor on our cruise "swam" off the vanity. After sitting a while the constant temperature changes caused a a thin layer of moisture under the cups to buildup enough for them to move off the vanity and onto the floor. We tested it again, and that was the reason. Sometimes those suckers took off too!;)

OK, this will sound totally whacky, but I swear, I had the weirdest feeling in our suite on Enchantment. I have never seen a ghost, or anything similar, but honestly, I got a cold chill up my back a few times in that cabin, for no good reason. One night when I was alone in the cabin, two plastic cups fell off the dressing table for no good reason. We were barely moving. I'm a realist, but it freaked me out so badly that I turned on every light and that cabin and would NOT go on the balcony until my husband got back. I just can't explain it properly.

Which leads me to my question, has anyone experienced anything "weird" on their cruise? All that nautical folk lore out there, you'd think that there would be more instances of ghost stories on cruise ships.

My husband and I just got of our first cruise on the Mariner of the Seas today and he had weird feelings when we would cut through the Casino...we are not gamblers but it was definatly a weird feeling going through there.

Not to scare anyone but we had a man commit suicide on our Enchantment cruise last December. I posted about it live from the ship when it happened. We saw the recovery from our balcony.

Oh that is horrible. I can't imagine feeling so bad that I would jump off a perfectly nice cruise ship into the water and kill myself.

First I'm terrified of sharks. Second I'm terrified of drowning.

Amazing that I scuba dive :D Ran out of air on my certification dive...lol and ran into a shark two weeks later here on long island.

And everyone says sharks don't come in close here....lol He was a baby tho, a little blue about 2.5 feet long. He came right up to me. All the years I've been diving I've never seen another one. Scared the crap out of me tho...lol I kept looking for his mother ;) We've caught quite a few large ones out fishing. But usually 3 miles out. This one was in the inlet at slack tide. moseying on along.

He liked my bright yellow fins. I bought blue ones the next day...lol

We were in cabin 8052, Royal Family Suite.

Like I said, it would sound totally whacky. Nope, didn't see a ghost, didn't see Caspar, can understand how the cups could fall off the desk, but just wanted to ask if anyone ever HAD seen/felt/heard anything on any of their cruises. The "creepy" feeling was something I'd never experienced before, and yes, it could have been due to the pomegranate martini's. :p

You guys seeing all of these ghost obviously did not pay the new "Ghostbusters" surcharge. For 5.00 per person , per day RCCL will have your stateroom professionaly swept by an anti-ghost machine developed by non other than Dan Akroyd.Additionaly Ray Parker will sing "I Aint Afraid of No Ghost" over your in stateroom speaker system through out the night to let the evel spirits no they are messing with the wrong folks. The "Ghostbusters" surcharge will automatically be added to your shipboard account for your convenience.

and it includes a 15% gratuity charge. But you can always give extra tip. It really pisses me off though that you have to request this services. It should be part of the cruise fare. RCI has gone down big time: no lobster, no ghost cleaning....I think I sue.

I would sue. Ghosts on a cruise ship is the fault of the cruise line. It's a result of not properly cleaning the suite. Do not accept their first offer. Go for the whole thing. Claim that you are allergic to ghost and they stink.

I wouldn't try suing :(

The cruiseline might charge her for having an extra person (opps - being) in the same cabin.

I would love to have a haunted theme type cruise. Anyone else interested?

Glama - Some of us are having a good laugh at your expense. I was always a bit skeptical about ghosts and thought that it was probably more in people's imagination than anything else.

Although I've never had any weird experiences on a cruise ship, I have had a couple of ghostly encounters at a B&B down in Cape May, NJ.

My husband & I both woke up one night feeling like there was someone else in the room. It was the strangest thing I ever felt. We had one or two other weird occurrences in the same place. We then discovered that this B&B was featured in a book called "The Ghosts of Cape May", which was not a work of fiction, but written about actual experiences and sightings by a paranormal investigator. The writer said that the ghost was known to inhabit the room in which we stayed. We knew nothing about this before we stayed there, in fact the book was published about a year after.

I am no longer a skeptic.

He's a plumber by day so I hope he isn't afraid of water. ;)

I love that show!

Jason & Grant are the plumbers. Steve was a police officer (before he got all those tatoos:D ). Now he's a celebrity ghost hunter by trade:rolleyes:

I love that show too. My TIVO gets all the Ghost Hunters, but DANG those reruns!!! You see the Halloween Live show? Ever see a big-ol-bad wrestler scream and prance down the dark hall like a scardy cat little sissy girl before???

For all of you, who are like me, I FOUND a Haunted Cruise :) but its sold out :( . I am sure they will have another one next year. I found it while searching different links here at Cruise Critic. It can be found under Features, theme cruises, then potpourriui. Here's the link to it since I am sure missed a couple of other steps get to it.
