Terrible accident on the boards!

Dateline: Cyberspace

A mountain of smoke is still rising from a multi-train wreck that occurred today in Cyberspace, in a little hamlet called CruiseCriticville. The accident occurred in downtown, where the the Northbound and Southbound Celebrity train tracks intersect with the Westbound and Eastbound RCCL tracks. While there were no fatalities, injuries (mostly to egos) were reported as severe.

While corporate spokepeople were not available for comment, witnesses reported two speeding "Fashion Thread" express trains, one Southbound, and one Northbound, failing to heed the RR crossing flashing lights indicating that two "Booze Smuggling" locals were crossing going East and West. The ensuing pile up left bottles of leaking booze dressed in tuxedos and cases of wine in Capri pants. But, as fewer than 5% of the outfits, and fewer than 1% of the liquor became queasy or ill, no report was made to the CDC.

Many of the villages' old timers blamed the crash on "outsiders," swearing they saw a troll or trolls come out from beneath the railroad trestle, and cause interference. Others were quick to blame the engineers of the various trains, saying that they were inexperienced newbies, and should have done some research before pulling such a train out of the station in the first place.

One of the oddest aspects of the whole incident was that some of the injured actually got into fights with eachother, leveling claims of cutting in line for (medical) attention, and hogging gurneys and stretchers.

In general, all agreed that train travel was not what it used to be, but admitted that it was still a better value than it used to be.

As soon as the wreckage is thoroughly examined by both the citizens of CruiseCriticville and the local council, the tracks will be opened up again for continued train travel, although these particular trains are beyond salvage, and will, in railroad jargon, be "locked."

This just in.

Apparently, the crew from the trains were distracted while trying to quell rioting in the dining rooms. Something about lobsters.

The fashion trains have been identified as the "Fauxpas of the Tracks" and the "Malfunction of the Rails". The booze trains were the Rumrunner and the Bootlegger.

Of course, train photographers captured it all and CDs and photos are available in the caboose. Those having 5 or more train wrecks get a free 8X10.

Corporate offices also announced that there will be a fuel surcharge to cover the coal spilled in the wreckage.

In honor of the trains which were destroyed, the metal will be melted and will become reused in a new cruise ship to be named "Carnage of the Seas."

OOOEEE:D :D Bob and Phyl

Thanks for making me laugh out loud, Andrew!

Loved this line: One of the oddest aspects of the whole incident was that some of the injured actually got into fights with each other, leveling claims of cutting in line for (medical) attention, and hogging gurneys and stretchers.

I can see it now! :D
