Best way to get from FLL to Miami Cruise Port?

Recommended Posts

I have just booked for august 29 majesty of the seas.

Now, we are wondering how to get to the miami port from Fort Lauderdale Airport. Which is the more reasonable way to get there?

This thread has some good information... Have a great cruise... on one of our favorite ships.

The shuttles from FLL to MIA are OK. Just make shore that you get a direct van to the pier. Ask the dispatcher and/or driver if you have a direct, nonstop ride. We learned the hard way. Our van stopped at three Miami hotels before we got to the pier. It was an hour and 1/2 unscheduled, unguided, hot tour of Miami. Just make shore you go direct! And have a great cruise!

If you have time you might consider renting a car. It gives you some flexibility. we have always rented from Hertz, they have a drop-off in downtown Miami. From there its a $6 cab ride to the pier.

Hertz has a free shuttle to the pier.

Rent a car in both directions. We did this--used Entertainment book coupons so it was VERY inexpensive. Alamo to Miami, Hertz home. It worked well since we did a red eye from LAX, and an early evening flight home....somewhere to stash the luggage while we looked around town a bit.

We just went out of Miami on June 28th with a group of 40 family/friends. 30 of us stayed in FL the night before. I booked with QLS Transportation (qlsshuttle.com) and they were terrific!!! we got a rate of $9 pp/each wayl They were there on time both in FL and on the return from the port. Nice people, good service, great price!~

Anyone has used the easyexpress shuttle service?

We've used Easy Express in the past...they were fine and reasonably priced. Right on time too. We used them from POM to FLL and they were waiting for us when we disembarked. :)

When the first RCI transfer departs from Miami port to FLL? I have a 12:35pm flight back home, it could be possible to arrange the transfer with RCI and catch my flight on time?

Sure it is....let the purser know you have an earlier flight and ask for an early debarkation tag or do self assist. Just do your best to get off the ship as early as possible....sometimes the buses have a long wait to fill up before they leave.

We're going to fly into FLL the day before our cruise out of Miami, and we plan to stay at a Miami hotel probably. Any recommendations for hotels nearby, especially any that might have a shuttle from FLL/to the port? Unfortunately, we're only 24, so renting a car would be pretty expensive for us.

Are you travelling with others?

We hired a big limo. There were 6 of us

and, 6 peoples luggage...which was a load anyway.

Dividing up the cost, it was pretty reasonable

and, the driver dropped us right in front of the ship

with no walking or, hauling of luggage.

When we came back, he was exactly where he dropped us off.

Squeaky clean easy way to do this...hire him round trip

to get you when you come back..the cost is far less

considering everything involved and, dividing up the cost...pretty expensive alone however.
