9/30/08 LIVE from Carnival Miracle

Radio

When we arrived back on 9/22, we docked about 8:45 am. Maybe the Captain is going a little slower due to rough seas?

I know I am going to be suffering from PCD again tomorrow!! I was just getting over it from our cruise and now I am going to go through it again! Thanks for all the great reports and pics, Radio!

I just checked out your web site with the video's. Great site. We cruised the Miracle last year and don't sail again until Dec. 09. Following you on your trip has given me the cruise fix that I needed. i look forward to seeing more from you, keep up the good work.

radio-please tell the captain to be on time.

we will be waiting on the dock--waiting to board .

any update...on docking time?

The Captain told us we should be at the Pilot Station by 8AM depending on weather.

He also suggested that we should be tied up at the dock by 10AM, depending on NY Harbor traffic. . .

radio.....ventured over here from the rc board. i'm used to reading more familiar names of ship locations etc. but this is very interesting:)

i have a quick question if you don't mind....we'll be in st. thomas this december and were convinced that saffire beach was to be our destination.....now your review says that you think morning star is "better". can you tell me the differences? thanks and really....you are (once again) providing an amazing service.

We visited Morningstar Beach a few years ago on Radio's recommendation. It was beautiful, but very quiet, really nothing there at all. We did sneak into the Frenchman's Reef pool for a short time. We've also gone to Shappire Beach twice. It is really beautiful, there's snorkling, food to purchase, just a bit more activity going on. Both are really nice, you can see St. John's from Shappire.

Radio you are wonderful with the pictures. I love that picture of the debarkment talk as it had my favorite crew member FUN SHIP FREDDY!! I love seeing him. I would love to cruise out of NY just one time so I can see the Statue of Liberty maybe 2011 as I have plans to sail on the Legend next year and then the new Dream in 2010. Keep up the excellent work.

Hi Wittrot I will see you on November 13 as me and my boyfriend Tim are on that ship. See you then.

Hello everyone ! The seas have calmed down, and we have had a very pleasant warm day. We are still rolling a little, but it is much calmer that earlier today !

Tonight is the final dinner, and the final night of our cruise. I will have to say that the Spirit Class of ship is my favorite. I love the layout of this ship, and I love the dining choices.

It makes me happy that the Carnival Pride (Spirit Class) will be changing her home port to Baltimore in September ‘09 for year round sailings. I think that Carnival made a good decision.

The Carnival Pride will be the newest of 4 ships in Baltimore for 2009 (Celebrity Mercury, RCI Grandeur of the Seas, and NCL Majesty.

We should be in New York in about 14 hours, and I will say that I loved the cruise, and the ports.(I would have liked Grand Turk better though)

I have heard that the port of Grand Turk will reopen for Miracle next week, and I hope that the passengers enjoy weather as nice as we have had during our 8 night cruise !

Here are a few pics from today, and I have many more pics to post, but will wait to post when I get home, and am able to enjoy a high speed connection.

Thanks for tuning in. . .

More pics from New York City tomorrow morning !

Oh, me too! Radio and Mrs. Radio, I feel your pain! :( I have to say when I read your remarks about the "rough seas" I wanted to call you a WIMP lol. You should have been on the ship the week before. I am so glad you had such great weather. Supposed to be nice tomorrow here, but wear a sweatshirt. It's chilly! Jaja, BON VOYAGE! Lucky I don't know where you live in Paramus, because I might just sneak into your suitcase! :D

Radio,

Thanks for the wonderful play by play with pictures. :) You brought back wonderful memories for me. My husband and I sailed the Miracle last June and had a fabulous time.

I'm glad you and your wife are enjoying yourselves as well. :D

You'll have a blast! We'll be back on the Miracle in February for a S. Carib cruise from FLL. If you get sick of the NJ winter sludge, I'll try to save you room in MY suitcase :D Have fun! ;) Can't wait to hear all about it.

Hello everyone. . . We just pulled into Pier 90 at 1030AM. We should be cleared by 11AM, and I expect to be off by about 12N.

The Crystal Symphony(Pier 92) and Norwegian Jewel (Pier 88) are here with us today.

There is a lot of hurry up and wait this morning. I saw a lot of passengers waiting in the Lobby at 8AM. They will be waiting a long time. . . We are just going to relax and go when we can go. . . No rush, and no worries.

I should be home today by about 330PM, and will try to post a few more pics.

Thanks for all of the very nice comments, and I will re read the whole thread, and try to answer any questions that I may have missed.

Thanks for tuning in !

Thanks so much for your blog..........I relived my cruise (Miracle Sept 14th) through your postings....................great pics, so many different than what I took. Will you have a place where we can print your pics??

Glad you had great weather ! ! ! !

We stayed on board as long as we could, didn;t want it to end.

Our bus was not coming for us till 1pm so we had breakfast, hung around the Lido deck and waited till most of the passengers were already off. then we just walked off the ship, right though customs, picked up our luggage easlily as there was not a lot to look through, and went to wait for our bus back to Providence.

Radio thank you for such a great review, and fantastic photos I loved the images of The Miracle, but NYC WOW...what a historic port to sail from, I would never have seen any of this without you..I'm glad you enjoyed your cruise, and even though I'm a bit scared I am looking forward to my first cruise..I hope I like cruising, but you have eased my fears a bit that's for sure, did you win at cards or slots in the casino? and which are the loose machines :-)) thank you again..
