Crown and Anchor Gifts help

Recommended Posts

Its not only the gifts, they have taken away lots of perks. You can't combine your diamond discount with anything (so what good is it), no more concierge lounge, (I cruised a lot to get there, now that is gone). I think they should stop these perks for new customers, and keep it up for everyone who gets them now.

RayJacki, I noticed you have cruised lots, and tried other lines, how does Carnival and NCL compare to RCCL? I am about ready to try one.

Thanks

In DH/my opinion, NCL offers a similar product to RCCL, however, the perks for being Diamond Plus definitely steer us to looking at RCCL first when we start cruise-searching. Celebrity (owned by RCCL) is like eating at a steak house instead of Applebee's with Carnival being Applebee's.

Carnival used to be strictly the "Party Cruise", but we find that it's evolved over the years to be more suitable for a wider variety of ages. (BTW - our first cruise together on Carnival was at age 45-ish and the most recent at age 51-ish with another coming up in a few months at age 54-ish and we3 have truly enjoyed all of them so far).

That being said, we've NEVER had a bad cruise on any cruise line, but some are obviously going to be better than others.

Hello...I am aware that if you want to have a cake, wine or other special gifts ordered in advance of your cruise, you can do that, and it will be in your cabin when you arrvie on the ship.

I also remember I was able to buy tokens or gift certificates to the Casino which would be a surprise to my wife when entering our cabin. However, I do not see anything on the RCCL website to order Casino tokens or certificates.

Does anyone know if they also stopped this service in advance of the cruise or am I just not finding it for some reason.

Thanks for the help.

Dave

Dave, good news- Casino tokens and Onboard Credits are still available through Gifts and Gear. You won't find them listed on RC's website, but here are the codes, and you can order from Royal Caribbean at (800) 722-5443, in increments starting at $1.00 and up:

Casino tokens # 601

Onboard Credit # 651

I just wish folks would stop complaining about things they receive for free!

Its not just the free items. Its the perks that RCCL offered in good faith to members who cruised enough to become diamond, then take them away. To me that is a very uncool thing to do. They should give us extra cruise credits to make up for it. Then we can work our way to diamond plus.:)

Hello JMF...Thanks for the information. I will place my order this week. I would have never found this information if it weren't for you.

Hi Dave,

Happy to help, enjoy surprising your wife and best of luck in the casino! I have no idea why Royal Caribbean would have removed these items from the Gifts & Gear online (or am I just remembering seeing them offered in our documents?). Anyway, they should be on the website. Why wouldn't RC want us to allocate 'spending' some $ in advance of our cruises, and allow us a way to gift others? Bon Voyage! :)

I don't think it is complaining when people say they wish they would get something besides a hat. What can one do with 6 hats? (the amount I had. and none fit DH's head)

I was hoping for one of the newer tote bags (I have the old blue one and that's good too) Alas, no gifts on the July 19th Freedom sailing. :(

>>>they left coupon books which were totally useless.

Halfway through the cruise they left very nice canvas bags. They were large & had the logo on them. I was surprised they left one for me AND one for my husband.

Most cruise lines only leave one per cabin.

We are NOT Diamond !

I am hoping for a beach bag on the Aug 23 sailing of the Mariner.

We were on the 6/28/09 sailing of AOS out of San Juan. We did not receive our CA gift in our room. I contacted the guest services desk and they said that RCCL was not doing the gifts anymore. When I returned home I called CA and they noted that if the ship had run out of gifts then we would not receive them. Guess they gave them all away.

We just got off the Majesty... received the nice beige canvas bags. However the Loyalty Ambassador confirmed what you posted.... there will be no gift once their supply runs out :(

We received 2 canvas beach totes on our recent Mariner cruise and they were VERY much appreciated. Thank you RCI!!

Although, this wasn't a fancy gift it was a nice guesture that is truly appreciated. A week later after our cruise, we have used them 3-4 times already.

I hope RCI keeps up some kind of gift for the returning guest. I'm sure they also realize that it can pay for itself since you are essentially walking around with a bad (or hat) advertising Royal Caribbean International;-)

I agree! Thank you RCI :D The free gift is appreciated.

Just off the EOS and yes the supply has run out. Instead they gave us a Celebrity Canvas tote - almost like giving a HAL shirt. It is nice but how cheap can you get.. A Loyalty program is supposed to generate loyalty. Airlines have learned this -- I have 1.8 million miles on UA, Cruise lines have not and especially the C&A does not.

We just got off the Mariner too, and they left us 3 large zippered beach bags (one for everyone over 18) and a nice smaller tote bag for our younger teen. And our kids were in the room next door, so they were pleasantly surprised to get anything at all. Yes, I know they were Platinum like us (now Diamond :D as of this cruise!!!) but I have heard that many times the "kids" don't get anything, only the adults. We were all very happy, and my oldest is taking hers to college ;).

Only used one coupon out of the Platinum book - so yes, it was basically useless for us too. They should have saved the paper....

We are cruising in October on the AOS and this will be our 2nd RCCL cruise. I wish they would bring back some of the "Gift & Gears" that they use to have. There not free .... and I don't mind paying at all .... It just that now days it very limited to what you can order.
