Does anyone know about a passenger being put off Solstice during a Mediterranean cruise d/t an altercation in the casino w/another passenger? There is another cruise website where this is getting hot and heavy attention.

Do you know when that happened? We just got back from our Solstice cruise on Saturday (8/29) (it was heavenly!!), and while I did not hear that someone was "ejected," during our bridge tour there was a report of an incident, but no details.

There was a threat earlier on this site about it. Something about 2 passengers arguing in a casino. I think it took place on 8/13 and I think both got disembarked.

Yes, there was a thread earlier but Walt did delete it due to

the lack of facts and it was more like a rumor of the

"did you hear what happened" kind of thing......

Remember the old game "Operator"? That was when many of

us were small....someone started a story and by the time it

got to the last person it was 360 degrees different than it began....

It was a true story, Lois, I did some research on it but unfortunately you are not permitted to refer or link to a competing web site. Only one side of the story was presented however as Celebrity refused to comment on it...

On the Soltice Aug 7-17th. Heard discussion of one man being put off following a bar fight. No other details were discussed other than he was put into some form of custody at the time of the fight and disembarked by order of the captain the next morning.

According to the story that was posted, it was the passenger who was ejected telling his story to the person who posted it. There was liquor involved and some nasty words between passengers in the casino. The person (American) was told to stay in his cabin for the rest of the night. The next day he was called to a meeting w/ship's officers who told him he had to leave the ship but his family could stay. The other passenger who supposedly provoked him, remained on board.

The man was trying to sue Celebrity for all the costs incurred while he flew from port to port, staying in hotels to remain w/his family for the rest of the vacation. There was some speculation that there was discrimination against the American passenger who was a "nobody" and the (maybe) Russian passenger (who traveled w/a bodyguard) who was a "somebody".

Unless the person involved decided to post something on this board than we only have seoncd-third hand info about the incident.

I was also on this sailing. In fact I heard rumour that two people were 'removed'.

One relates to the incident referred to above; the other I believe was a gentleman who was persistently rude to staff... and was ejected fairly early on.

Ok..maybe I worded it wrong? I just know I read the post Walt

had put on here and I was under the impression the incident

had missing parts to it........and instead of having everyone

guessing what happened he chose to close the thread.

I was just posting what I thought I had read....maybe I read

it wrong.:o

It was removed PRIMARILY because the OP and others used links to another cruise board which is forbidden. Lois is correct in that at the time there was some question as to whether the whole story was bogus...
