NEPhillyRN Posted August 27, 2016 #3 Share Posted August 27, 2016 Depends on the ship. We have sailed in suites on the grandeur a few times and it was well worth it. The concierge will take care of any issues. Which was so very helpful when we traveled with our 6 kids!
ducklite Posted August 27, 2016 #4 Share Posted August 27, 2016 We were in the Royal Suite and the perks were minimal. The concierge on that cruise was beyond useless, and provided incorrect information (in writing) a couple of times which created major inconveniences. Once you leave the extra space if your cabin, expect to be herded along with the rest of the crowds--zero extra anything. No priority disembarkation, no priority seating or reservations, it was a pitiful experience.

Rare Lionesss Posted August 27, 2016 #6 Share Posted August 27, 2016 Love the suite perks on the Allure. Everything from saved theatre seating to great suite lounge. Crown loft suites are great. Free pressing first formal night Escort off the ship bypass all others all the way to the custom line. Free luggage valet to airlines (some limitations) To mention a few Love it. We were in the RS on the Mariner. It was not a good experience. It was our first--and last--RCCL cruise. They agreed and offered a huge discount to sail with them again. No way we would throw good money at bad. No way.

Cindy Posted August 27, 2016 #11 Share Posted August 27, 2016 Does anyone know what, if any, are the perks for suites. New to RCCL and need some input. We enjoy the Chops breakfast offered on most of the ships. If you're trying an Oasis class or Quantum class, they have the Royal Suite program and Coastal Kitchen, which is excellent. We've enjoyed the concierge service too, although some are better than others.

Today, not even counting the brand new program for the newest ships, none of that is true. Priory boarding, tenders, reboarding, reserved seating in most venues to include the pool deck, a lounge that serves appetizers and cocktails during dinner hours and other things. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk An overhaul wouldn't have fixed the incompetent concierge, the mechanical problems in the cabin itself, the lousy food, and the overall poor experience, including the captain being very rude to us as a result of us following written instructions by the concierge which were incorrect. I really don't think a suite experience over a decade ago is relevant to a question about suite perks in 2016. Too much has changed in the industry and with all the cruise lines' suite perks in the last 11 years. I get that you had a poor experience, but perhaps it's time to let it go and allow those with more recent experiences to share up-to-date information. ducklite Posted August 27, 2016 #18 Share Posted August 27, 2016 Things change. Based on any number of recent reviews, they haven't changed all that much. It's still lipstick on a pig. For those lauding it, I suggest you try some other lines to learn what you are missing.

Most likely the concierge is gone, and light bulbs have been replaced sometime in the past 11 years. Most often, sewage problems are caused by other passengers ignoring the instructions about what not to flush. spookwife Posted August 27, 2016 #21 Share Posted August 27, 2016 So why are you here? We get it, you hate Royal and nothing anyone says will dissuade you from your hatred. So why set yourself up to be debated and pooh poohed? You had issues with a ship and a person, not suite perks which have only been improved upon over the past ten years. What, no one can fix inherent issues in a decade? The ship has gone through how many Captains since then? Policies cannot change? Personnel cannot be trained? I had a pretty crappy first impression of Carnival and at this moment nothing they can do can change my mind but you don't see me over on the Carnival Board telling everyone they suck. If you have to ask you prove a Point I didn´t even try to make.:eek: But even you should understand my Point like everybody else did. The Point is, your cruising Experience is very limited and your cruising Experience with RCI is even more limited and very outdated. The quetsion of the OP was about current Suite perks and you are simply not qualified in any way to answer this question and actually your post... Once you leave the extra space if your cabin, expect to be herded along with the rest of the crowds--zero extra anything. No priority disembarkation, no priority seating or Reservations is completely wrong in 2016 !!! If you don´t have a clue and can´t answer a question it´s sometimes better to simply Keep your mouth shut, even if you miss a Chance to follow your personal Agenda after 11 years.

Sent from my iPad using Forums They gave us a bad cruise filled with disappointment over things they had control over and chose not to remedy. So many of our complaints were fixable, they didn't even want to try. We got shrugged shoulders and indifference. They did not deliver what their printed information on their web site and in their brochures stated they would deliver. They ultimately agreed with us and made an offer for us to return. By then it was too little too late. I wasn't going to spend another week of vacation and many thousands of dollars to sail with them again. By the time the offer came, they had burned a bridge.
