Bachelor party cruise need help!

Recommended Posts

I'm new on this forum and have read some posts and there seems to be many many friendly helpful people on board so I'm hoping you'll help me out here

I am helping plan my brothers bachelor party and we are definitely going on a cruise but I don't know which one would be best! The new Norweigan Sky looks awesome lol

I wanted some ideas, tips, recommendations on what cruise line would be good, is there a better time to go for a bachelor party and will there be enough activities on board to for us to have an awesome time.

Here's a quick bio about us so you can give better tips:

  • Mid twenties
  • Mostly single
  • We are all outgoing and like to have a good time where ever we are
  • Would like a casino on the boat
  • and a younger crowd who's also looking to let loose :D

I'm guessing a singles cruise would be good for a bachelor party?? But I am looking forward to everyone's recommendations, also would like to hear from people who have held bachelor parties on a cruise ship. Looking to go in May probably latter half next year!. I've looked at the carnival vista but want peoples inputs!!:)

Thanks all!

Just some thoughts:First, and perhaps most important, how long a cruise are you planning on: 3 days, 5 days, 7 days? The shorter the length of the cruise the more chances that you'll find younger aged fellow passengers. We old people like 10, 12, 15+ day cruises! LOL. Younger passengers also look at price, perhaps more carefully also. Carnival, and Norwegian might be good for you. RCCL is usually a little more expensive but offer a lot of activities, especially ships like the Allure. When you plan to take this cruise also affects price. Finally, you might consider help from a travel agent who could take your list of desired wishes and present you with multiple options. Naturally, you could do this on your own but it does take a lot of time. Wishing you and your brother a great time! :) Edited by PROCRUISE

Heya! I'm 23 and although I haven't been on these 'booze cruises' I have cruised quite a lot and have friends who do cruise to party!

The Norwegian sky is a really good choice, it has a unlimited bar included in the price if my memory is correct!

Royal/Carnival/NCL are generally geared towards us youngsters although P&O has quite a reputation for stag/hen do's on the shorter cruises!

(http://www.cruisingisntjustforoldpeople.co.uk we're building a young cruisers community here with tons of people who can help you out with this, you'd fit in perfectly. If you fancy it!)

Don't go with NCL if you want to eat together. They only have 'Freestyle dining" where you just go to the dining room from like 5:30 to 9:30 and ask to be seated. But if there's a bunch and you want to be seated together there may be a wait for a table. (Once the two of us had to wait 40 minutes for a table!)

If you don't want the dining room, there is always the buffet open from usually6pm till9:30 or later.

On Carnival and other ships they also have this or traditional at 6pm or 8:15pm. You can all ask to be seated together but request this when you book.

The newer RCCL ships have a TALL climbing wall and a Flow Rider (surfing on land!). Some also even have ice skating!

The Carnival or RCCL ships will have a ton of things to keep all busy.

You can make reservations in the MDR's on NCL, we've never done it, and our family of 7 has never waited for a table. We do check the boards to see which one is less full.

These reasons for avoiding NCL are exactly the reasons that I would suggest that NCL is the perfect line for what the OP wants. NCL will provide them the variety they are looking for and they can always make reservations for their group to minimize wait times. The newer NCL ships have the same amenities that RCCL and Carnival have, and usually have better pricing, especially with the Free At Sea promotion that allows unlimited alcohol for approximately $100 for the week.

No, this is not true unless you've booked with a promotion that includes this.

OP, Never, Ever try the Flow Rider or Ice skating on a Bachelor Party cruise. Alcohol :beer-toast::beer-toast::beer-toast: and these activities do not mix!

Should you ignore my advice, you will be pleased to know that all ships have infirmaries on them.:loudcry:

So you are saying that because it's a bachelor's cruise, the OP and friends will be inebriated and intoxicated from the moment they wake up in the morning until bedtime?

And you are assuming that they will go to bed and sleep.:p

If the OP and friends are not inebriated and intoxicated from the moment they wake up in the morning until bedtime then it's not a Bachelor Party. :D:D :beer-toast::beer-toast::beer-toast::beer-toast:

If they go to bed and do not wake with a tiger in the bathroom, then it is not movie material.;p

Better off bringing it on with carry on.

Not sure if the carryon will fit through those tiny x-ray machines they have. And I don't want to be around if they try to stuff it though. Tony's a nice Tiger but he gets a little ornery when that happens.

I thought of bypassing the x-ray all together by stuffing the tiger down my pants but that could be problematic.
