  1. I hope you aren't a lawyer. The right of pursuit is just that. It doesn't say anything about a guaranteed right to achieve or maintain if achieved
  2. Yep.Notavisa. And no start date yet. It's been postponed annually for years.
  3. I missed nothing. If the OP preferred to be called Princess Rainbow Twinkletoes, she should be allowed to use that on legal documents, because... freedom?
  4. I don't think it was physically possible for my eyeballs to have rolled father after reading that. Seriously????? How about just saying "please call me______"
  5. It's not really complicated at all. Disregard the cryptic comments that make things out to be harder than they are. The situations you describe could be booked as back to back cruises. Any consecutive cruises on the same ship are B2Bs. Any TA or Cruise line booking agent can book them for you.The only time you CANT book a B2B is if the ship starts in one US port on the first cruise and ends in a different US port on the second cruise without first stopping at a distant foreign port. That would be a violation of the PVSA law. A S2S booking would be consecutive bookings on the same line, but different ships. PVSA would not apply.
  6. No need to wander around. When you book you'll receive instructions on where and when to meet the representatives who will direct you to the correct bus. They should be waiting at the People Mover arrival station on the ground floor.
  7. Cruise line dependant. For example, Carnival has both an Entertainment Director, who is the department head, and a Cruise director who is the public face for entertainment events. Celebrity has a traditional Cruise Director. The department heads are senior officers. A Hostess is just that.
  8. I would venture that having a Cruise Director would be better than not having one, since they are responsible for all the entertainment and activities. But they need to know their audience, and cater to both their expectations and those of the cruise line. A good one can certainly enhance the guest experience. A bad one is just an annoyance.
  9. If you could afford a $100K bottle of wine, why would you be sailing on a Celebrity cruise? Slumming?
  10. Because it is in the forum guidelines. Their site, their rules.
  11. You can no more predict cloud coverage months in advance while at sea, than you can at home. Light pollution from the ship will be a problem from almost all public outdoor areas, unless one of the ships officers offers a stargazing opportunity (in which case one area will be temporarily darkened). Lasers are a no no. DH likes to star gaze, but has always been disappointed on cruises, saying his best experiences were from the helo deck of his destroyer, back in the day. Its always windy on deck while under way, and can be cool at night. Bring a windbreaker, or similar. As for cruising without any charges to your on board account- possible, yes, if you prepay the daily gratuities. And if you only drink water, plus tea or coffee at meals. And if you don't buy anything from the on board shops. And if you don't take a ship excursion that you haven't prepaid. And if you don't use the spa or do any of the on board activities that have a fee.
  12. Home made marzipan will last up to 6 weeks in fhe fridge. Tell her to deliver it the day before you leave. Or just sail without her.
  13. As Cruiser Bruce said, many people do B2Bs or B3Bs or B4Bs. Some cruise lines will have long cruises that can be broken down and booked as segments (often as a B2B). Other lines simply have individual cruises where the succeeding cruise is just booked separately. There is no list of B2Bs per se. But any cruise line will have a cruise schedule for each of their ships. Any block of 2 or more successive cruises is by definition a B2B. And then, of course there are the S2S cruises (side to side), where you actually change ships on the turn around day.
  14. To add to mrgabriel's list - you could also end up under the gym, buffet or Lido area, with early morning noise issues. You aren't going to get a prime location with a guarantee cabin, most of the time. It's up to you. I like to ensure I have cabins both above and below me, to reduce the chance of unwanted noise.
  15. We like to board, drop our bags in our cabin, and complete the eMuster. Then grab a drink to celebrate the start of our cruise before heading to lunch. Then it's time to tour the ship to familiarize ourselves with the various venues. If you have kids with you, you'll want to check out the kids clubs. Then maybe pool time before sailaway.
  16. I'm glad I don't live in your world. 3 days equals 36 hours where you live? I've heard of daylight savings time, but that's ridiculous.
  17. Given that there are usually a plethora of different types of massages, not to mention duration lengths available, how could they reasonably be expected to offer unlimited massages? Not to mention the potential for muscle damage incurred by the masochists booking multiples per day. I've had a few decent massages on ships. But they've been outnumbered by the mediocre and outright bad ones that cost twice what I pay at home. I couldn't imagine paying a bundle in advance for unlimited. As for being a moneymaker- the beverage packages make money for the ship. The bars are supplied and staffed by the ship. The Spa is a contractor- I doubt the ship would see much money from such a package.
  18. I agree with Cole. OP doesn't mention the port, but if it's your first cruise, and you've never experienced a sailaway party, then do it. Ditto if its a particularly scenic Harbour (like Sydney).
  19. In all my Celebrity cruises, I've never encountered a "mandatory" (not for security) pre cruise photo. People who didn't want the photo simply walked past those who were getting their photo taken.
  20. Same to you! That may be the only fireworks some of us see today, but that's OK.
  21. Absolutely. 3 of the things PEI is noted for: lobster suppers, Anne of Green Gables and Cows ice cream. I remember with fondness back in the distant past when you could get a lobster dinner in one of the church halls, sitting at long tables covered in newsprint, with a plastic bib around your neck. Sheer bliss and bonus points if you also ate the 'tamale'. That pitiful rubbery object they serve on the ship isn't worth the effort to chew.
  22. I think it is more about dining together and a change of scenery from the MDR? And her opinion of the food quality may not be the same as yours.
  23. Wait, did I miss something? Does every Celebrity cruise now include a stop at Coco Cay? Do I need to go to another line to find an itinerary that doesn't include it? Bummer.
  24. I suspect you have no idea how meaningless that is. I have cruised on a 14 day B2B with a 20" carryon. I've also cruised for 10 days with a 29" AND a 20". If you choose to use a 29" suitcase, also buy a handheld luggage scale. It is very easy to exceed the weight limit with a bag that large. And if you are such a clothes horse that you can't fit everything into one 29" suitcase, then either refine your packing list or pay for 2 bags.
