  1. My Verifly is still showing that I need a test. 😞 Oct 2 on the Rotterdam.
  2. I had to go and look it up. 🌟First HAL cruise Zuiderdam 2014 - 60yo 🌟🌟Third HAL cruise Koningsdam 2018 - 64yo 🌟🌟🌟Fifth HAL cruise Zuiderdam 2020 - 66yo I have a long way to get to 🌟🌟🌟🌟 but I have the cruises booked to get there. LOL
  3. Good morning. It's a coolish morning here in SW Ontario, but bright and sunny, with a high of 26ºC promised. National Get Ready Day! Well, that does it. Time to get the clothes on the bed and into the suitcases for our vacation next week. Many thanks for the thread and all who contribute to it. Prayers and hugs for those that need it, even if they don't think they do, and cheers 🥂 to all the celebrations. Blessings to all. Have a wonderful day!
  4. So there is a wine steward back in the main dining rooms now? 👍🏻
  5. Thanks for the thread and all the sharing that it stands for. When I married DH, our first Chinese dinner out with his family was for his mom's 70th birthday and this is their tradition. So funny! 😄 It's a coolish day today in SW Ontario. We haven't had any side effects from the booster so far, not even the really painful arm from the last booster. We have some of the frozen dumplings in the freezer, so I can pull them out for dinner. Prayers and best wishes for those that need them and those celebrating. Blessings to all. Have a wonderful day.
  6. Thanks to all who contribute to the Daily report. I haven't had a chocolate milkshake for a bit, but maybe I can convince DD to make one-spiked with peppermint schnapps, of course-tonight. Every day should be a day of encouragement, don't you think? Positive encouragement might help stop the negative divisiveness that is rampant today. We had chicken last night, so the leftovers will be added to the skillet pasta dish in the fridge for DH and I. DD will just have the pasta. @kazu what a lovely Celebration of Life that you had for José! I hope that it brought you joy and comfort to share with your family and friends. Happy 85th birthday to your mom @puppycanducruise! I loved the pictures of Bangkok, @StLouisCruisers Thank you. It's another perfect day here in SW Ontario. DH and I are going for our 4th booster today....the day that they finally announce the bi-valent one, but since we'll be cruising 🤞 when the dates open, we've opted to boost up now. We'll catch the next one once enough time has gone by. Prayers for those that need them, even if they don't know they do and Blessings to everyone. Have a wonderful day!
  7. Good afternoon. It is a beautiful day here in SW Ontario. I've had a(nother) lazy day, after not feeling the best yesterday. I appreciate all the sharing and caring that goes on in this thread, even if I don't always reply. Thinking of you today @kazu Prayers for those that need them, whether they know it or not, and blessings to all.
  8. Thank you for the fleet report and the daily happenings.Have a wonderful weekend. Blessings to all!
  9. We used CVM right at the port (stayed at Pan Pacific) https://bookings.covid-medical.ca/#/customer/conventioncentre. The Fairmont Waterfront (right across the street) also had testing https://empowerclinics.com/covid19testing/
  10. Good morning! Thank you all for the daily. Now that the grandkids are back to school (no babysitting or drop ins until the weekend) and DD-who-lives-in-the-basement is working every day this month, there is time for me. I would love the Meal suggestion, but we are having curry tomorrow, so it will be sausages and rice (or pierogi) for dinner. I'm not a Jim Beam fan, so I'll stick to my moscato or Malibu rum and orange juice while I catch up on The Amazing Race Canada this evening. We have done 2 Disney cruises (never with little ones lol) out of Port Canaveral, but our last cruise from PC was NCL from March 7-13 2020-yes THAT March! COVID had hit the ship (although they never informed us until 2 weeks after disembarkation). We sat in our cabins praying that the US would let us off, since at that point, countries were refusing entry across the world. Once we hit the pier, we hightailed it to the parking garage and started the long drive home to Ontario. One thing about Port Canaveral is the view as you crest the hill coming in and see the ships. ❤️ Blessings to all! Have a wonderful day!
  11. Can you tell me how you set up the things for the test. Can all the pieces be set up before logging in (test/sticks left in the foil packages, but the tubes, stand etc all ready to go)? And how did you set your iPad or phone to keep the camera on the tests for those 15 minutes? Finally, how long to get the email that says you were negative? I'm sure once I've done this, I will feel more at ease. 😉
  12. Sadly, my hubby is oblivious to all those little details, too. He never remembers which bag is ours....even though he put it above less than 3 hours earlier. smh
  13. Well done! 🙇🏻‍♀️ We're headed to Scandinavia in October, so will need heavier clothing, but I'm hoping to whittle it down to just one checked bag. I have decided to limit the number of jeans/tops/sweaters somewhat with the goal of using the laundry.
  14. We've had these for years. I bought a set for DH and one for me. Then I "splurged" on a nylon set from amazon that had a couple of different sizes, a shoe bag and a "dirty clothes" bag (used as second shoe bag). I don't even unpack them when we go places-just move the cubes into the drawers/on the shelves of the room we are staying in.
  15. Thank you. I have booked TCA for the end of September. Your description makes it easy for me to understand the steps to meet the driver. It looks like TCA might be useful in getting to some of the places we have booked in Amsterdam, too, and I can just book them each day.
  16. Which cruise line? My fingers are crossed that Holland America will accept the tests, since they are proctored.
  17. And that's how it should be. An 'oops' and a correction.
  18. You probably can't shop, since the shops are typically closed when the ship is in port.
  19. Lots of talk about Azova and Lifecenters.ca
  20. No lingering and definitely out by 9/9:30. The staff are intent on getting the ship ready for the next cruise and we'd be in their way if we stayed beyond our time.
  21. DH and I haven't had the second booster, but did have Covid the end of May/beginning of June as well. We had no conclusive symptoms and when DH tested positive, we were shocked. We will get our 2nd booster early September and cross our fingers that our October Rotterdam cruise will not be cancelled the way our end of May Koningsdam had to be. The variant booster will need to wait because we aren't willing to forego what will be available early September.
  22. So, comparing the two, would you say Lifecenters.ca worked better for you? How many were testing at the same time? Thanks for your thoughts!
  23. I had trouble getting my husband's picture on to Verifly. I took easily a dozen at various times. White wall, glasses on, glasses off, just the head shot, a little further back. Eventually it accepted the picture and we were 'good to go'.....well, until he tested positive and we didn't get to cruise. My sister contacted their support and was pleasantly surprised how quickly they got back to help her.
