If offered, you'd have to compare the price of a package vs. doing it on your own. Due to the one-way nature of a TA, package pricing may be different than regular sailings.
Yes, solo cabins are available, but the fare may not be that much less than regular cabins (with which you'd get extra C&A points vs. the single points in the solo cabin).
On the desktop, the browser lists the CC join date - pretty easy to guestimate that someone who joined in 2002 but has their first post now (lurking for 21+ years!) has one of the longest lurk records.

You can probably arrange to take one of the early ones yourself without an excursion or wait till the rush dies down. The worst backups might on the return where an excursion won't really help.
If in good enough physical shape, you can always skip it and walk.
