  1. An FCC will issue if the cruise is cancelled, with a new expiry date. That was our experience with a similar situation.
  2. We’ve been sailing MSC since 2011 and couldn’t agree more with that statement.
  3. Pure conjecture - If the FCC has already been applied to the Dubai cruise booking, it might not be possible to have it removed. If that’s the case, you may have to wait it out ‘til the decision to cancel happens. It would then be re-issued (I would think, anyway). Best of luck, Foxy.
  4. Thanks. I’d read something similar on the POC boards. The port area sounds very nice, alright. 👍
  5. You should also check out the Ports of Call section https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/472-mediterranean-eastern-western/
  6. Having been to Ocho Rios, for us Falmouth is a new POC (though I get the impression that it’s not any better than OR). We’ll probably just enjoy the day onboard the ship. We’re quite used to POCs being missed/replaced.
  7. Just press ‘return’ after each photo insertion before inserting the next one.
  8. “Due to extensive pier damage caused by a recent incident involving another cruise ship at the port in Ocho Rios, Berth 2 will be closed for restoration work. Falmouth will replace this as a POC on the same date as the originally scheduled stopover” according to an email I’ve received from MSC.
  9. It seemed like you enjoyed your time onboard. Is it due to lack of shade or uninteresting itineraries that influenced your decision?
  10. It seems to be really hit and miss with this island. Explora managed to dock today - very calm seas, apparently.
  11. Totally agree. Each person has to earn their points to reach Diamond; yet one person is effectively being denied ‘their’ perk, if sharing a cabin with another Diamond level member. Just one more downgrading of the Diamond perks over the years. Status Match is the sole reason for the erosion of benefits.
  12. @AmbitionatBay You didn’t manage to have an alert sent to the person you quoted (you can see that the username is not highlighted in blue). Possibly because you used a capital letter when the name isn’t capitalised. It’s case sensitive. For future reference , you get a dropdown menu to choose the CC poster’s username that you wish to alert; that way you know that it’ll be done.
  13. I heard that 500 embarked in Bridgetown and another 100 are doing B2Bs. As an FYI, no kids, and only one teenager, has been spotted so far.
  14. My thoughts, exactly!
  15. My friend onboard has queried the change of champagne with the F&B manager and was given the explanation that Moet couldn't guarantee the volume that Explora requested. This is due to reduced champagne production
  16. Off- topic, but not worth starting a new thread for
  17. Mercier is now the champagne awaiting your arrival to your OT suite. This is from a friend of mine who embarked today

Was that agreed to by you? We’re not interested in the alternative tours, so would just do our own thing on disembarkation day if our booked excursion is cancelled.

There’s a chance that your flight may be too early to allow for the tour. Be sure to check with the excursion desk. Also, bear in mind that the tour can be cancelled if there isn’t enough interest/bookings (and you may not be notified til late on the last evening - we’ve experienced this before). We will be checking out alternatives just in case.

When are you sailing? We have the Everglades tour booked for the end of May (our international flight is at 18.45). Here are the tours offered (I found them on my booking on the website; they weren’t showing on the app)
  21. 👍 It’s just a little disconcerting to see some things being downgraded already, when Explora isn’t even a year in operation, yet. From what I can see, the Champagne has already been downgraded from Veuve to Moët and, it’s been mentioned here that there’ll be a step down from that, too. Plus, the complaints about the quality of wines on offer don’t instil a sense of a ‘luxury’ experience. I accept your point about not judging the product until it’s been experienced, but it’s disappointing to book a cruise, then find out, when onboard (or even beforehand) that you won’t get to enjoy what had been included at the time of booking. I have friends embarking in a couple of days’ time. I'm looking forward to hearing their first-hand account of their onboard experiences.
  22. As long as the Moët isn’t downgraded by the time you sail. 🥺
  23. Melody lol. 😜 Gone before we ever started on MSC. (Can Melody even be called a ship?!! 🤣🤣).
  24. The adjective I would have used would have been: ‘helpful’. 😉
