Cabin steward must have got it working when we were out, but problem continued each day. No smell., or overflow.
had same issues on several princess ships, but never as bad as OP.
This was a cruise we were considering since ours from Vancouver got cancelled.

Cruiselines usually offer a tour/ transfer to airport. IMO that is best choice for NJ/NYC. They take your luggage. Look at excursion list.
I have been stuck in traffic on city bus, & taxi too many times there.
Under FAQ: can I cruise with my family- says cruises entering Canada requires test 2 days prior to sailing for antigen.
whereas, in chart- up to date: vax/ booster is 3 days prior.
so someone pointed this discrepancy out to me.
Change cruise line.
I have never had such issues in my 35+ cruises re: dining.
everywhere staffing issues seem to be a big problem..

Call Princess as soon as they start in the morning. This has been working for me.
Solve dining issues while on board the ship.
so they can apologize & maybe compensate.
Don’t sweat the small stuff.
It was in May when we went. It is called GiGis on the Discovery Princess. Excellent food & service.
was same pizza from Room Servuce for $3 charge, as well.
If it is offered take advantage of it.
$100 pp FCD also tie up cabins.
princess cancelled, unexpectedly some of the cruises I had payment on over the last two years. I had flights & hotels etc arranged independently. I was responsible if there were cancellation penalties on those.
this time I have 2 cruises as back up—- I do intend on going on them because I have to use FCC by September 30/23.
if you really want a certain cabin then book it early.
