  1. @NBliving the CA ferry is currently not running (off season) and resumes in November so it depends when you will be sailing (and this is the least reliable ferry) but you have the Crown Bay ferry which is a good option also.
  2. Yes, as mentioned you use but you can always use a nice pair of sunglasses, jewelry, cover-up etc .. really anything from the ships stores/spa etc.
  3. I'm not sure the OP was in St Johns (Antigua) or St John USVI (she said St John's but many people confuse the two) but you can easily visit St John on your own and have much more time on island but it depends on the timing in port as to whether it is worth it for you.
  4. Definitely not all do - especially when they have done zero research into the customs of the island they are visiting ... oh and leave their trash everywhere !!!
  5. Good evening, We have purchased a specialty dining package on our upcoming Equinox cruise - might anyone know where, on the day we embark, do we go to book please. Thank you so much
  6. Thanks @jen.claire.389 might you have the contact info for Europcar please (what I have doesn't seem to work as it keeps taking me to Europe for some reason) Good luck
  7. We are doing this is September and will take the car ferry so fingers crossed. Do check your rental contract as we first booked on Moorea with Avis and the rentals are plus mileage so I found a local rental car company in Papeete that came highly recommended that is cheaper and includes unlimited mileage which in a week I know will add up (I think it is something like 0.50c per mile with Avis)
  8. @jen.claire.389 I will be following and if you have the name of a scooter rental company do you mind sharing please as we want to do the same thing.
  9. Being from the US and running a day catamaran sailing company in the Virgin Islands (taking guests snorkeling etc) it is customary to tip the crew 20% of the cost of the sail so I would just like to confirm this is the "norm" in Tahiti as we have several booked on our upcoming cruise (private whale swim, full day snorkeling etc) Thank you

  11. Thank you - he responded and we are on a waitlist as we need 4 more to sign up before it is a confirmed tour but I am hopeful
  12. I have something planned on each island on our upcoming cruise except on Ranigiroa, Fakarava and Huahine (we are on a waitlist with Ato on Fakarava as he is looking for 4 other people to join before it is a confirmed tour) so might anyone have any suggestions please. I am thinking of renting a car in Huahine and we arrive on Windstar at Débarcadère de MAROE (landing stage Maroe at Maroe Village) so might anyone know of a car rental agency close to where we arrive please. Thank you for any suggestions everyone - getting excited.
  13. Do you have a link to the one you purchase please @coolbluegreenseas
  14. Thank you so much - this helps. This is the current promotion so I'll have to do some math
  15. Might anyone know if Windstar offers a discount for booking your next cruise while onboard and if so what might the % discount might be please. We are thinking of booking another Tahiti cruise and saw they are currently running a promotion and are wondering if this is a better deal than the discount if we wait to book onboard in September (if they offer it) Thank you
  16. Thank you @coolbluegreenseas - I've been cruising 30 years and still haven't learned that it's OK to wear something more than once at night (but I will be this trip haha)
  17. @coolbluegreenseas our first Windstar and the September 7th 11 night with 3 days prior and 2 nights post - so excited. If I can get us to 2 suitcases (1 each) and a carry on I will be happy LOL... I so admire you. I guess my problem is I don't know how "dressy" Windstar is at night (we usually sail SeaDream and sometimes Azamara or Celebrity ) so I know I will just keep adding stuff as "what's one more dress? OK two more dresses and an extra top but now I need shoes" etc, etc. The good news is I just chopped all my hair off so that cuts out all my curly hair products so there is half a suitcase right there 😂
  18. @coolbluegreenseas - you are going on a cruise with Windstar to Tahiti with only a backpack??? PLEASE tell me how (my husband will love you forever 🤣)
  19. Thank you so much - hope you are having a great sail
  20. I agree with you @SailingHigher .. I think you can look just as "tasteful" in a nice pair of shorts and Tommy Bahama type shirt and nice shoes (maybe more so than jeans which are allowed as long as they are not ripped) especially in tropical climates and eating on deck .. but it is what it is and so glad I checked - thank you everyone for confirming
  21. Thank you so much - very much appreciated
  22. Thank you @Nearpost345 - are there options for dining? This is our first Windstar sailing trip so forgive me for being clueless - so if we eat dinner at Candles Grill (is it even open for dinner?) are shorts OK there? Thank you for any help
