  1. @Tahitianbigkahuna - might you have the best way to contact Ato please - I sent a Facebook message as well as a few emails but have not heard back. Thank you
  2. I was going to edit but it wont let me for some reason .. I am only asking because, as a first timer to a Windstar sailing ship, I didn't know if dining was on deck a lot of time in Tahiti and I see they have "Candles Grill" that is available for dinner and under the description it reads "Dress Code: Attire onboard Windstar is specified as "casual elegance" but it does not say no shorts at dinner like it does under AmphorA (Main Dining Room) where it states "Dress Code: Attire onboard Windstar is specified as "casual elegance". Resort wear, no formal nights. No jeans, shorts or T-shirts at dinner" On SeaDream, dinner is either outside (where shorts for men are allowed) or in the dining room where shorts are not allowed so you don't have an option to dine and I am wondering if it is the same on Wind Spirit (I did search but this specifically wasn't mentioned) Hubby (obviously) wants to follow the dress code but if nice shorts and collared shirts are allowed he would much prefer to wear those. Thank you everyone
  3. Good afternoon everyone, I am fairly certain dress code is "country club casual" for dinner (I am thinking maxi dress for ladies?) but what about for men? We sail on SeaDream mainly and as many dinners are served outside on deck, shorts are acceptable for men with a polo/Tommy Bahama type shirt (if in the dining room then long pants are required) but what about on Windstar in Tahiti please - shorts OK for dinner or always long pants. Thank you
  4. @Leejnd4 and @Tahitianbigkahuna do you have a link to a good water shoe please (I prefer not to spend $$$$ as this will be the only time we wear them but there are so many out there that it's hard to see which ones are good online) Thank you for any recommendations
  5. I agree @patty1955 I don't know how I didn't spot that mileage is extra at the agencies I was looking at - I guess I just assumed it was unlimited miles as I am so used to it being included and I think it was about 0.50 cents a mile or something like that ... I also didn't spot that most cars are manual so I was happy to find Eco with unlimited miles and an automatic
  6. @oakridger here you go - just know you will pay upon reserving and it is non refundable but I believe a credit if you cancel. We booked an automatic, unlimited miles, insurance for about $115 cheaper than Avis (which was a manual transmission) and they were very responsive to my emails. They will meet you and drop you off at the airport (hopefully the cruise port instead of the airport) and they did get good reviews.. https://www.ecocar-tahiti.com/index_en.php?nx=ACC&jeton=1686759607CEEHDNNRNB&rap_typnum=0&rap_datedeb=&rap_datefin=&rap_heuredeb=&rap_minutedeb=&rap_heurefin=&rap_minutefin=&rap_villedeb=&rap_villefin=&rap_email=&rap_phone=&rap_carte=
  7. Thank you - I did manage to find some info and I guess boarding starts at 1pm and all aboard is 1 hour prior to departure (departure is 6pm) so I think we will be fine.
  8. We will be boarding Wind Spirit in Papeete and might anyone know what time they begin boarding? We will be in Moorea with a car that we need to return and wondering if the 12:15pm car ferry (arriving to Papeete around 1pm) would be fine - I think we would be to the boat by 2pm maybe before? Our paperwork says departure is at 6pm Thank you
  9. @Tahitianbigkahuna Thank you so much - do you think it would be safe to book the car ferry for 8:10am with our "land time" of 5:30am ? .. seems like it will be OK but I have no clue. Thank you for any help
  10. Thank you Nancy for the links .. I searched again and still nothing (I'll reboot my computer not that I know if this will help ?) This is a great help - again thank you
  11. Might anyone have a link to the different car ferry companies and their schedule for Papeete - Moorea - Papeete please (I have spent so long on Google with no results which is crazy to me that I am not finding anything) Also, I have read it is best to make a reservation - we land at 5:30am so I am not sure how long to allow for Passport Control/Immigration/Luggage and time to pick up the car so any advise is very much welcomed. Thank you

  13. Thank you - we just found a local car rental company that is cheaper than Avis with unlimited miles and they will pick us up so giving them a go 🙂 Much appreciate your help.
  14. @Escriteur I hope you had a wonderful cruise and thank you for this (it will help with my packing) I hope you don't mind a few questions.. what time did you disembark at the end of you cruise as we are trying to arrange for our rental car and wondering what is the latest you can get off the ship please. Also, what day in Bora Bora was your evening event (first or second night) and what about the beach day (what island please) .. so much planning and so confusing when it's your first time to Tahiti (but can't wait 😀) Thank you so much
  15. Thank you so much for this - helps with planning 🙂
  16. Good day We will be disembarking from a cruise in Papeete and will be staying for 2 days post sail - does anyone have a recommendation for a car rental company at the port please. Thank you
  17. Good day We will be disembarking in Papeete and will be staying for 2 days it Tahiti - does anyone have a recommendation for a car rental company at the port please. Thank you
  18. Thank you - can you explain what this is please ... is it all day and night with tenders running back and forth to the ship if you don't want to stay? I have morning excursions planned for both mornings we are in Bora Bora and looking at renting a self drive boat for one afternoon but this sounds like a fun "not to be missed" activity through Windstar (I assume it is not an excursion that you have to pay for or sign up for?) Sorry for the questions but this is our first Windstar and first time to FP - so excited
  19. "semi-tasteful" ... that is a dilemma for sure 🤣
  20. We will be in Tahiti in September and have read water shoes are a good idea - might anyone have a good recommendation please (nothing expensive as this will be the only time we wear them as there is no need on St John LOL) Thank you
  21. Update: I guess T-Mobile works as I entered French Polynesia vs Tahiti and all good 😀
  22. Good evening - wondering what phone service works in Tahiti (if any) We are on Wind Spirit in September (so excited) and we have T-Mobile and according to their website they do not have service in Tahiti so we are looking at getting another phone and wondering if AT&T or Verizon might work? Thanks for any help 🙂
  23. FYI .. in the Caribbean they will try to serve dinner outside as much as they can and if they do, nice shorts and polo shirt are perfect for dinner for the men (no need for long pants but long pants are required for dinner should they be serving inside) I'm sure in the cooler climates they will serve indoors most of the time (but having only sailed with SeaDream in the Mediterranean in the summer and in the Caribbean I have no idea) Hubby never takes a jacket.
