  1. Well at least that is something versus nothing, even though it doesn't coordinate with Kelly's tone-on-tone color palate. I would thought they would have brought two table of that size, one for each of you. Did you have to eat in shifts?
  2. Great question. I wasn't quite sure how to answer. It gave me a chance to reflect on my ten past Celebrity sailings. I have done five cruises each on M-class and S-class ships. I have two more booked on Summit and Silhouette. I had lots of great memories on both classes of ships. And these experiences could have easily taken place on any other Celebrity ship: Summit -- 1st Celebrity cruise, 1st aqua (fabulous shared table mates) Constellation -- 1st Celebrity cruise with my husband Silhouette -- 1st suite Equinox -- 1st ABC island cruise, another amazing suite experience, Captain Kate Reflection -- 1st Med cruise I have never sailed on an Edge-class ship. The infinite verandahs along with the itineraries and the pricing of the non-infinite verandahs have always steered me away from this class. I know all of the new venues and public spaces on board the E-class ships offer variety and beautiful cruising environments. I am not opposed to giving one a try in the future. Both the M-class and the S-class ships have features that the other does not. I love the T-pool, Cellar Masters, and shaded, oversized Sunset Verandahs on M-class. I love the wider variety of public spaces including the larger seating areas in the Martini Bar on S-class. It is a close call. I am going to favor S-class, but I don't think any cruise on any Celebrity ship would be a bad cruise. All their ships offer a socially enjoyable setting. If I had to choose just one ship it would be Celebrity Equinox. Happy cruising!!
  3. The couple cruises we have taken in September have been great. The itineraries took us to the ABC islands south of the typical hurricane alley. Fortunately, those two years were no problem. But I give myself pause when considering September cruises since Irma and Ian both hit us during Septembers. Although last September we were on a Greek Isles cruise when Ian hit, so it was nice to not be in town to endure the storm and the power outage afterward.
  4. This is way up from Tuesday's pricing of $2,099pp for a you-choose S3 Magic Carpet View Suite. Those came out to around $4,500 with all the suite perks. I gave up trying to unravel Celebrity's pricing mystery.
  5. So much for exclusivity. If this ratio of suites on the 5th Edge-class ship turns out to be the case, then that could mean one expansive and crowded Luminae. I am becoming more and more grateful for my MSC Seascape Yacht Club booking. Only 130 suites in the Seascape Yacht Club.
  6. Look at all that FOOD. Photo shot before all the cutbacks obviously. So was she eating her breakfast at the desk because the revolutionized Hoppen balcony table was too small???🤣
  7. I just received this email from Celebrity Cruises announcing their star rating from Forbes Travel Guide which I am not familiar with. I never noticed Modern Luxury had evolved into Relaxed Luxury. Relaxed Luxury has a little SM symbol after it. The email says, "We are the first and only Relaxed Luxury resorts at sea to be Star Rated by Forbes Travel Guide. Forbes Travel Guide has 65 years of expertise in evaluating and verifying luxury at the finest hotels, resorts-and now resorts at, sea--in the world." The poor punctuation in the previous sentence is not my doing. A link takes you to a page on Celebrity's website listing the awards they have received. So, I guess congratulations are in order?
  8. Good to know. When I checked earlier it seemed the only ss was 9146 in that same general area but that weird spot next to not in front of the magic-carpet-view suites. Now I just checked again and all magic-carpet-view suites on 6, 7, and 8 are open. Not a fan of potentially more little ones on board over Easter, so I will still take a pass. I remember when I felt good about pricing of under $300 pppn for a ss. Now they seem to rarely be coming in at under $400. I could go on short notice in the coming months if my feel-good price arose again.
  9. Thanks for the heads up @NorthStarStateCruisersince that is an awesome price for a week in a sky suite on their newest ship. Too bad I can't jump on this one. Although, on second thought, maybe a hard pass is best here especially if it would be one of those banging, creaking, slamming suites that I have been reading about.
  10. I think I remember Chicken ‘N Waffles on one of Celebrity’s menus. Catering to their new demographic?😂
  11. Well written. I think this sums up a lot about what I am expecting when I give the YC a try later this year.
  12. I plan on exploring the GenPop areas of the ship on daily walks very early in the morning before the party animals awaken and start their riff raff. This should give me a chance to decide which venues to check out later in the day or evening. No need for me to experience everything on this ship since there are more experiences than I can make use of on a 7-night cruise. More interested in watching the waves go by. If the Top Sail Lounge has a nice acoustic or piano-based performer and a few fellow passengers to converse with, then I'm good. I'm not much of a party animal anymore. But if the mood arises there surely seems to be lots of options on board.
  13. Looking forward to it. Great pics of Bonaire this morning. Love that stop.
  14. We just booked our first MSC Yacht Club. Looking forward to their private island and pampering.
  15. Pre-Covid we found Cellar Masters was a great venue choice on Equinox. Ours was scheduled before the venue opened for business. It is nice that it isn’t so open to the atrium-like area of the ship like the martini bar is. The Captain was gracious enough to make an appearance. She was a welcome addition to our conversation.
  16. Well that is certainly a whole lot of pork on that plate. All I can offer is my observation that Celebrity doesn’t seem to be scaling back on the portion size on this one.🤣
  17. Time for Celebrity to up the prices on the Sunset (real) Verandahs again.
  18. Thanks. The link took me from registration page directly to webinar. Playing it now. Does LLP play the guitar?
  19. Kinda like your preference sheet when one charters a yacht. Hee hee. Totally understand especially when allergies are involved. And the 20-minute butler's monologue is totally uncalled for.
  20. Too bad. That is what calculated the loyalty discount.
  21. Sorry for the thread hijack, but would you mind terribly giving a crash course in Cookies 101. I would love to stop receiving all of those "Complete Your Booking" emails I receive from MSC and Celebrity after all of my dummy bookings. Thanks.
  22. X is my cruiseline, too. But it is good to have options. I would take the advice of @LadyShivaand check out the ship you are considering in great length via YouTube and study the deck plans. That is what I did when I began looking at other lines because of Celebrity's rising prices. However, YouTube may not give you much of an indication about the clientele and vibe on board which may or may not impact your on board experience. What have you discovered about MSC Yacht Club on board MSC Seascape? This is the option we have decided to have a go at. It will be the first time on MSC Cruises for us. MSC Seascape is brand new and access to their thermal suite is included with the Yacht Club experience. I have now decided to set a maximum per person per day spend on a suite experience cruise and there are very few Celebrity sailings that fall below this pricing threshold. Whatever you decide I am sure you will have a fantastic time. You will be on a cruise.
  23. I guess I am a visual person. This pic really shows what HappyCruiser said about the first and third verandahs being so much larger than the second and fourth ones.
  24. Hey there @GenerationXWe booked it!!! Yay!!! We are trying MSC Cruises for the first time after your inspiration. We will be sailing out of Miami in a Yacht Club suite on the brand new MSC Seascape for 7-nights side-by-side with our 5-night that we previously booked on Celebrity Summit in The Retreat. Based on recommendations that I read over on the MSC boards, I used my Azamara Discoverer status rather than my Celebrity Elite status to submit my MSC Voyagers Status Match enrollment. They matched me to their highest Diamond level. Elite reportedly only matches to Gold on MSC. Submitting the status match form on MSC’ s website was pretty painless and the response came back in a day or two. After receiving my MSC Voyagers number in an email from MSC, I passed it on to our travel agent and received the 5% plus 5% discount on the booking. It was also nice to only be required to place a deposit of $199 per person. Neither one of us have ever been on such a populous ship, but it will be fun to try something new. And with the huge Yacht Club facilities for only 130 suites, we have a comfortable refuge from the “GenPop” that we can retreat to (no pun intended) if needed. Thanks again for your report!👍
