  1. In fact, it was. We were watching a movie together, and were due at the kids club in 2 hours. I had paid for Plus and that entitled me to free Room Service which I thought would be a treat for the kids. if you are accusing me of being too lazy to take care of my family: - I averaged 14,800 steps daily while on this cruise. It was a little shy of 7 miles a day. - I took an elevator twice all week and probably walked up an average of 30 staircases daily. So I am physically capable of doing what you suggest. I just didn’t think I would need to.
  2. You have plenty of time to ask this question again before your cruise and after the new method begins. Right now all you will get is speculation. Ask again in October and you will be able to benefit from the experience of others.
  3. Likewise @Itchy&Scratchy. It takes the pressure off my forthcoming review. 😄
  4. This was a rarity for us. But we were part of the problem, as we brought 2 of the kids. I agree that cruising when kids are in school is more enjoyable. This was a different experience, but it was meant to be all about time spent with grandkids. As far as the kids were concerned, it was a fabulous success (review coming). Their parents had a good time too. But for us, it meant giving up some of the things we typically enjoy when cruising. I didn’t expect to be giving up timely food delivery, but all things considered it was great fun.
  5. I have only ordered room service (always via the app) three times in 3 Princess cruises. The first time, it took 30 minutes to get a sandwich. The second time, I had a beer and a sandwich within 15 minutes of ordering. Last week, I placed an order for 2 fruit plates, 2 sandwiches, 4 bottles of water and 1 beer. One hour and 35 minutes later, I heard a knock on the door. The time was 5:00 PM, admittedly within peak dining hours. And of course, it showed as “Delivered” 10 minutes before it showed up. That seems par for the course. I had hoped to get the grandkids fed before the kids club reopened at 7, but it didn’t work out. I wasn’t angry, just a little disappointed. And it supported my impression (just my opinion) that maybe Enchanted Princess was not all full staff. Mitigating factor: the ship was full. I don’t know how many pax, but walking down corridors, I saw cabin after cabin with 3 and 4 pax showing on the little screens. There were also, I heard, 700 minors on board. I thought I would ask here if that was typical. I usually keep expectations low, but 95 minutes seems long and it did mean the kids had to grab something on the way to the club. And Mrs BV and I had to eat all the food (one slice of watermelon wasted).
  6. That happened to both of us. I boarded with a dead medallion and my wife’s medallion died on day 4. The GS agent told me it was the #1 issue for GS on our cruise. Transit time for our medallions was 26 days and they arrived 5 days before we sailed.
  7. We had a cabin right by the main staircase on Sapphire last year and never had an issue with noise. That location is very convenient.
  8. The juice making operation was indeed set up in the middle of the buffet. There may have been another somewhere on Enchanted but I didn’t see it. if you need to avoid one ingredient, it might not be possible. I did not see the equipment cleaned out between different juice creations. But it never hurts to ask. I did have to give my cabin number to a crew member who wrote it in a notebook. I’m not sure if there would be an extra charge for something special.
  9. No way. Yes, Princess charges a premium. It’s one of the ways they make money. I have not seen the difference that you quote. Last week in Roatan, we did an excursion to Gumbalimba park. Princess charged $60 each. tripadvisor doesn’t show me any tours for less than $45.
  10. There was a tip jar on the piano in Crooners two nights ago on Enchanted.
  11. We’ve order the “strip loin” twice and both times it was tough as shoe leather. Hard to cut. Harder to chew.
  12. My son in law ordered it every night that we’ve dined in the MDR so far. It never left the menu in 5 nights. And I expect to see it 2 more times.
  13. Mine was dead on arrival this trip so I had to visit GS on boarding. I was told that there were many others with the same problem. My wife’s medallion lasted 3 or 4 days before it gave out.
  14. Juice bar is alive and well on Enchanted this morning. My pictures aren’t uploading at the moment but it’s a big Waring juicer and 5 varieties. I tried the Antioxidant. It would have been better with ice but it was okay.
  15. I have no idea how expensive these were a year ago. Moot point since the port was canceled this morning.
  16. We are on Enchanted right now. Every day we get a flyer listing excursions available at a 20% discount. Why? They are not full. So, if you’re a gambler, go ahead and take a chance.
  17. Same here. And the new one has my name, ship and sail date. And the right color. And took 3 minutes to produce. Having seen old and new in her hands, I know it wasn’t a battery replacement.
  18. No line at GS. The lady’s name is Angel and she is one. Mrs BV’s replacement medallion works our door just fine. But getting on and off the ship, the readers go “donk” instead of “ding”. Then they ask if she has a new medallion and what her cabin number is.
  19. Guest Services on Enchanted have already remade both our medallions this week. Mine was DOA. Hers died on day 5. It took all of 3 minutes for a replacement this morning.
  20. Additionally, I have seen nothing scheduled on the patters for that venue. It does still show under Dining, Bars and Lounges with hours from 5:00 PM to late.
  21. I have only walked through during the day. The machines are turned on but no one was playing the slots. It looks like 1/2 the space was taken. I see chairs but no bandstand. I will try to remember to check it tonight.
  22. Finally met him about 30 minutes ago as we were taking my granddaughter up for breakfast. Not looking for towel animals. And he has been diligent about taking care of the cabin while we were out. We were just never in the same place at the same time. However we did meet my daughter’s steward the minute we arrived. Across the hall but different fellow.
  23. Day 2 on Enchanted and not only no towel animals, but still haven’t met our cabin steward. Yesterday was my son in laws birthday. He was hoping for a towel cake, but got none. He did get a special greeting on the screens by the elevators.
