  1. Does anyone know where the Joy will be April 27th to May 14th 2023? There had been a 12 day Miami round-trip to Miami cruise April 30th to May 12th. Yesterday I noticed it was no longer there. Checking today, I can't see anything from April 27th to May 14th when a New York Bermuda cruise starts.
  2. We usually stay one night pre-cruise at the Hampton Inn Blue Lagoon by the Miami airport. (It has a free shuttle from MIA to hotel) Directly across the street is a Burlington store that has a wide range of clothing for all ages. I'm confident you would be able to find something suitable there.
  3. I'm sorry your cruise was changed so drastically from what was planned. We too have had September surprises due to hurricane re-routing. About Canada and the one bar per deck rule, I decided to try and find something about that. (We found it strange on our Alaska cruise😒) Here is the link I found: https://cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/travel-voyage/cscp-pdnc-eng.html Liquor Outlets and Bars Liquor outlets and bars must be closed while in port. Under no circumstances should liquor be given or sold to visiting Canadian residents, shore personnel, or stevedoring personnel while the ship is in port. While in port, one bar per 1,000 passengers, or one bar per deck that provides hospitality services (whichever is greater), may be allowed to remain open. For example, if there are four decks providing hospitality services, four bars may be allowed to remain open. A letter requesting permission to open bars must be submitted to the FPOA inbox at the beginning of the season. This letter must include the bar location, the time it will be open, and, once suitably endorsed by the CBSA, will act as standing authority to open these bars, while in port, for the entire season. For any amendments to the original request, or if special circumstances exist that require additional bars to be open, another letter must be submitted to the CBSA. The CBSA will conduct spot checks to ensure compliance and this privilege will be revoked if any bar is open without permission or if any Canadian resident visitor, shore personnel, or stevedoring personnel is served in a bar. In addition, monetary penalties may be assessed to the cruise line.
  4. Thanks for the link! It looks like 9900 has a larger than normal 'angled' balcony. Also enjoyed the review of the venues on Joy.
  5. @wildcatwmn, did your family members book any of these cabins on Joy? I'm still trying to find information on the balconies. Also wondering if there was any problems with being just above the Waterfront.
  6. Thanks to OP for posting. I would love if someone can provide a link to the exact wording also. I can see some wording on the Latitudes page but didn't see anything with the effective date. Something confusing to me.... how is it 4 menu items at Teppanyaki & Hasuki? The Dinner for Two voucher can also be redeemed for up to 4 menu items per person at the following a la carte restaurants: • Sushi • Wasabi • Nama • Teppanyaki • Hasuki • Food Republic • Pincho Tapas Bar • Raw Bar
  7. We didn't realize how lucky we were to have the golden round hash browns on the Bliss a week ago! Now I wish I had made it to more breakfasts.... Enjoying reading your review. Hope you a have a wonderful cruise😎
  8. Interesting observation! We are intrigued by the Palomar menu. I would suggest those of you who haven't looked at it yet might want to compare it to Ocean Blue's menu. We also find Onda and it's menu to be much better than La Cucina. (But we will continue to enjoy La Cucina occasionally on the 'older' ships.)
  9. Well said! Much thanks to OP for sharing this. If you have a choice of cabins, it's always good to research before booking.... especially for the 'secret' larger balconies. 😎
  10. It might depend on what you would choose on each menu. For us, we would choose Onda over Ocean Blue, especially since you are already choosing Le Bistro and Cagney's. Have enjoyed several great meals at Onda. At Ocean Blue we have had some good and some just OK meals. (We would choose Onda and Le Bistro over Ocean Blue....but that's us)
  11. Thanks for sharing with us! Just wondering if the onboard shops are open? (Saw something on another site that said all the giftshops would be closed for awhile--remodeling?) Hope you have a wonderful cruise😊
  12. Thanks for posting these beautiful photos and the video! I'm definitely trying the slide in a few weeks😎
  13. So happy you are cruising again! Have a wonderful cruise. Love your writing style😊
  14. Totally agree. I can't believe with all of the imagination they have put into designing the Prima that there is no one at NCL with a decent idea of what to do with the American Diner space🙄
  15. I've read a lot of reviews from other NCL ships and I don't recall someone complaining about noise from being below the casino. However, I agree with complawer....look at the OceanViews. I saw a nice youtube of a Prima OV cabin. It was quite spacious. If I didn't have a balcony, I could be very happy in that OV.
  16. Exactly.....why aren't they trying to make good use of this otherwise perfectly good outdoor dining venue? Even when it was Margaritaville, we had a couple of nice complimentary breakfasts here. And the bar area kept busy with Margaritaville drinks. I'm totally confused. You would think they could figure out something better to do with it🤔
  17. Every time we start these threads I have to go through the pain of remember how we lost the Flamingo Grill on Getaway with it's wonderful Cuban food. Especially miss those sweet plantains and guava pastries☹️ It was also our favorite place for an uncrowded open air breakfast. Having said all that, I am now committed to trying the Milk Shake & Mozz sticks next cruise.
  18. We are going on the Bliss Haven next week (and then back to regular cabins after that!) And, we will be spending some time in that casino too😉 I hope you don't mind us asking a couple of recent Bliss Alaska Haven questions- How was the weather for your cruise? Was there Hot Chocolate for Haven Sun deck available? Can you tell us if the Haven Restaurant had some different 'specials' on the menu some nights? We envision spending some good time on that top Haven Sun Deck with our binoculars....or warmly enjoying the view in the Haven's forward lounge😊
  19. Two Wheels is the expert on these. Followed this advice for our Aft balconies and loved them. And yes, my first choice would be Deck 12, then Deck 9. Have loved both, but Deck 12 has great views. (Deck 9 is nice if you want to just walk down a deck or two to bars, etc.)
  20. We have cruised in the 'narrower' B1 on deck 9. It has plenty of room for two loungers, two chairs and a table. My first choice would be bed near balcony, but I wouldn't hesitate to book it 9324 again. Enjoy😎
  21. Not worth chasing. We never planned on reaching Platinum (now Diamond). We won't be going out of our way to use them, but I'll use some of them just because they are there. Happy enough with using one of our Diamond 'one-time' upgrades. The Sail & Sustain Mixology will probably be worth a one-time try, but can't imagine going every cruise.
  22. We will have to agree to disagree on that one..... More Lobster pics make me happy!
  23. I had read something about that too. It sounded like each night they would feature one dinner choice from a specialty restaurant. (It may or may not have an extra charge?) Something from Los Lobos, Onda or Palomar would be an interesting addition to the extensive regular menu. Or perhaps a dish from one of the Food Hall options like Q or Tamara? I am very intrigued with the new MDR menu.
  24. Thanks for posting these awesome photos! Lobster, steak & crab cake look good and we hadn't seen these appetizers & desserts before. Really looking forward to the Haven Restaurant next week😋
