  1. My late wife and I cruised Budapest/Amsterdam in 2018. Our final choice of operator was between Avalon and Scenic. We chose Avalon because we summised there would be a broader demographic of nationalities compared to Scenic which, as an Australian brand, would possibly have had a greater proportion of Aussies and Kiwis. Since then I believe Scenic now attracts a more diverse range of nationalities and is popular with N. American cruisers. As for Avalon, we loved it, it was perfect. I particularly liked the beds being across ship rather than parallel. We could lie in/on our bed looking straight out, through the large sliding windows, at the world passing by. Avalon had included tours in each city and special busses for pax with mobility issues with tours adapted to suit.
  2. YES - WE HAVE A WINNER AT LAST. It was at Memphis Zoo. We went there after our Mississippi cruise. Your turn Kristelle
  3. Another hint. A city in Egypt of same name.
  4. Hint. Recent Pacific Encounter cruise. The King has left the ship.
  5. Time for another hint. Pacific Encounter
  6. The Easter bilbie missed my place. Guess I'll just have to go and buy my own - at least it will be cheaper now.
  7. Thank you. On the same theme. Another wedgie.
  8. Reported to be docked for repairs after hitting a container while on South Pacific cruise. Todays departure for Tasmania has been cancelled. Refunds plus 50% OBC. My son is on Ovation in Vila atm. He and his friends almost booked it but luckily decided otherwise.
  9. Usually I would say HAL, my present favourite as I haven't been on Celebrity since COVID. In my earlier days of cruising I tried five different cruislines to get a varied experience. So, go for Princess. Which one? Toss a coin. If you have read ship reviews by different people who did the same cruise at the same time you would not believe they were on the same ship. A lot of Princess acolytes here so good luck.
  10. As mentioned previously you may have no problem taking them onboard. As OP is from UK this may help. https://www.gov.uk/bringing-plants-and-wood-into-great-britain
  11. Thank you. The flag flying there is the Union Jack which was the official British flag until 1801 when Ireland was included with the addition of St. Patrick's cross. Next pic.
