  1. We did a 14 day cruise in the Med last year, which we purchased as a single cruise, but was also a b2b. We did not notice any difference to a normal 14 day cruise, apart from noticing some change of passengers in the second week. Menus were not repeated, nor was the entertainment. And sail away parties are very low key on Princess these days, so didn't notice any difference.
  2. Looks like some really bad weather coming up in the Atlantic. Sky Princess cancelling two port stops, and heading straight for Southampton, hooefully arriving on Thursday, as opposed to Saturday.
  3. Apart from the fact that Carnival took on an enormous amount of debt during the pandemic at eyewatering rates of interest. The amount of interest they get on customer payments is insignificant in comparison. And as for getting away with it - how about supermarkets who sell products and get paid immediately but take 90 days to pay their suppliers ? There are far more obvious "targets" out there than cruise lines.
  4. And the share price "soared" by 1%!
  5. Ask in the Cruise Air forum, but provide more details. Which carriers, and are you booked on a single ticket ? If you are transferring in the same terminal, 60 minutes is the minimum connecting time, 90 minutes if transferring to a different terminal. But, regardless, this is a very tight connection, and CdG is a pig of an airport. I would want at least an extra hour to make the connection.
  6. Normally at the "check in " counter where they check your passports (in Europe anyway).
  7. I think that's the point. Much of the price premium is due to the fact that you are sailing on a small ship with less than 1000 pax. It all depends on how much an individual is prepared to pay for that type of bespoke cruising compared to mass market cruises.
  8. We had to wear coats in our cabin, it was so cold.
  9. Totally agree. I though your post was spot on, and entirely non-judgmental.
  10. Shares have soared by over 1% today! At this rate, by 2027 I'll have recouped my losses.
  11. Book a balcony cabin. That way you will at least have somewhere private to sit.
  12. Actually #4 was totally non-judgmental, and merely stated the Princess policy, before stating that shorts may be allowed in the MDR. I think you are looking for an agenda where there is none.
  13. If you self disembark (take your own luggage off the ship) you will probably be ashore by 7:30 or so. Quickest way to the airport is by using a taxi from the terminal, although you may have to queue. You have plenty of time to make your flight.
  14. Tap and go transactions are normally charged at about 1.75%. Obviously this is an oncost, but banks charge for handling cheques, cash etc, so no real difference. If businesses in the rest of the world can operate profitably on a cash free basis, why can't US companies do the same ?
  15. Fair enough, but I was not asking about your father.
  16. Pedantry alert ! Everyone knows it is a per diem charge.
  17. Balcony cabin every time. Nothing like being on your own, with a glass of something cold, watching the sea.
  18. A Brit point of view here - and obviously everyone knows us Brits aren't big tippers ! Went out for lunch today. Paid with credit card - added on a 10% tip - (no cash, obviously). The waitress said that the tips are shared equally amongst everyone working that shift, from the kitchen porter to the chef. That seems to me to be a great way of building team spirit and camaraderie.
  19. And you will be going through the notorious Bay of Biscay ! Seriously, I don't think cruising is for you.
  20. Sadly, I think we all know the reason for that !
  21. I'm assuming this is a wind up, but in case it isn't, why do you need to wear a visor when eating dinner ? Do the lights affect you, are you worried that you won't spot a waiter, or are you just making some sort of asinine point ?
  22. Indeed - but as previously mentioned, the US does seem to be way behind in personal banking technology. Just because some people cannot have bank accounts does not mean that the rest cannot use modern cash free banking services.
