  1. In my case at least as mentioned above, the rates for the 3rd and 4th passengers (children in all cases) were significantly less than passengers 1 and 2. For example, the cabins with two adults in them are about $3800 total, the cabins with two adults and 1 child are $5100.
  2. We have this issue upcoming in November on Beyond. We have the AI for all guests in the booking (I have six bookings, some with four to a room including children). The AI also includes the gratuities for the children. We didn't need or want the zero proof drinks or internet either but it wasn't an option if we wanted AI for the adults.
  3. We sailed the Koningsdam for 28 days in January to Hawaii/Mex Riviera and return. There are upcharges on the menu each night, and some of the choices are less than fine dining, IMHO. I seem to recall a veal shoulder stew one night. Usually at least one vegetarian option, always a chicken I think. We did upgrade our last "formal" night for the shared filet and lobster tail and it was very good. So upcharges are happening everywhere. As said earlier that is ok, I can decide, but don't downgrade the "included luxury" items and make them a pay per plate option.
  4. Is it my memory or did they raise the drink package prices again and then put the 20% discount on? Premium package "discounted" to $86.99 pp/pd. No discount it seems on the upgrade.
  5. Speaking for myself… booked six cabins in a row on Deck 10 on Beyond the day the itineraries came out and 18 months before the cruise !
  6. Thanks for all the answers. Guess the helipad idea is out.
  7. We’re an extended fam of 14 on Beyond stopping in GC in November. We sure get weird looks from first time cruisers when we try to explain this farce. We have no plans to get off so the beer drinkers will stock up the day before. We’ll take turns lining up if we need to.
  8. Not sure about that. I’m in Canada and it’s showing for my three booked cruises.
  9. Count us among the Sunset forever lovers. A tip - some of the ships (maybe not E-Class - not sure) now have Sunset Concierge class cabins. They are on the "higher" decks, same location but considered Concierge class. We just booked one on Silhouette for next year, and it was actually cheaper than the "regular" Sunset veranda category (which was actually also sold out).
  10. PALL on your Xpress pass means premium beverage package.
  11. Agree. The refundable deposit fare is generally more than the $900 you risk with a non-refundable fare deposit. If its less than $900 wouldn't everyone take it ...?
  12. I enjoyed several (too many ...?) of these recently on Koningsdam. I know the ingredients as I took a photo of the menu. Bulleit Bourbon, pineapple juice, honey syrup and cinnamon. Does anyone know the proportions of each? Thought I'd mix one up to enjoy with the Derby this weekend (I don't like mint so mint julep are out). TIA.
  13. You can also pour yourself a glass of wine in your room and take it with you into the dining room. No corkage fee that way.
  14. We were on the K in January for 24 days. This is the first ship I've ever been on that had "scheduled power disruption" at least two nights (maybe three) on the cruise. Explanation was that it was normal/standard for such a complex electrical system to need to be off line and "rebooted" from time to time. Standard .... but I've never experienced it in over 20 years and about 50 cruises.
  15. All week your photos have been beautiful. Today’s are spectacular. Enjoy turnaround day and I’m ready for the TA!
  16. Similar Caribbean itinerary. We've been on both, most recently the SIL in November 2021. Haven't been on Equinox since its "update" a few years back. Interested in feedback on which you would choose and why. We did love the SIL, and the EQ when we sailed on her before. I believe EQ still has Cellar Masters which we enjoy for the selections offered, to pick up a glass and walk across to the Martini Bar. EQ seems to be slightly cheaper ($50 per day) for the SV we would be booking. TIA
  17. I’m planning or hoping to do the same. Did the Captains club desk apply both discounts for you or did you do the cruise planner discount first and then call ?
  18. We are mostly wine drinkers. We always upgrade to Premium simply for the variety. Its really not possible to list what's on each list as stated above, it varies from location to location and ship to ship. Also, they are always making substitutes. That said, for the sheer variety we feel its worth upgrading, although I'm fine with a cheaper glass of chardonnay poolside, I prefer better wines at dinner/in the evening.
  19. Celebrity is our favourite cruise line, but we have sailed HAL previously (though not for a couple of years), Princess and RC. We recently did a 25 day Mex Riviera/Hawaii cruise (January 2023). We thought we would love the Music Walk concept. We did, to a degree, but found it very repetitive especially on such a long cruise. The bands were very good, there was live music every night but we really missed the opportunity to see a "production show" once or twice a week. We would usually flip between BBKings and Rolling Stones during the evening, but we then found almost every night we were doing the exact same thing. A bit monotonous for our liking. We were on Koningsdam. But, by all means, give it a try and see what you like or prefer. Its good to have options. We also found the food was a few steps below Celebrity, but we haven't been on Celebrity in 2023 since "the cutbacks" have been implemented. Cheaper cuts of meat, cheaper preparation, small portions, repetitive (green been every night ...), lots of up charges.
  20. Just this morning I said to myself that I must keep an eye out as I believe Jim and Iain are sailing soon and whoop there it is! sounds like a wonderful trip and I look forward to following along.
  21. Update for me - this morning the ability to upgrade on the cruise planner is inactive (I can see it but can't click on it). It was working fine yesterday. Hopefully they are doing some fine tuning.
  22. Could access it here in Canada but only offered a 5% pre cruise discount. No CC option. But it’s progress!
  23. I didn't read the fine print, but this free upgrade is offered in this week's "Exciting Deals" e-mail. But that doesn't answer the OPs question. If your cruise is on the list I'd call your TA or Celebrity and enquire.
  24. Also just wanted to add, we are booked in six SVs along the back of Deck 10. So the new cruisers won't get to experience the IV that so many comment on - personally I don't think DH and I would like it in the Caribbean for sure, or likely anywhere. We enjoy coffee, reading, ocean watching, happy hour and late night on our balcony with shorts, PJs or blankets on. In other words, we're balcony people!
