hi yes I agree with the other posters on here accessible cabins are for those who need a wheelchair to move around the cabin. I have just re-booked this week for 2025 after our Iona cruise has been cancelled due a refit. I told the P&0 lady we are bringing a wheel chair for my wife and she asked if we need an accessible cabin I said no a standard cabin would be fine. she ask all the questions does your wheelchair fold up Yes. does she need it to move around the the cabin so I said no she only needs it to walk longer distances. so Ok then we can book a standard cabin. no mention of any new laws.

Oh just remembered that was also about 20 P&O check in desks in that security building. so if you do a fly cruise you must go in there. We were on an ordinary cruise out of Southampton so it was not manned but maybe it is when fly cruise, it all looked new.

We docked on the port side across from us was an other ship an AIDA one I remember over by the ferries. so may be not always. yes the terminal is new as Kalos says there shop spaces but none yet filled. the duty free is in the other security entrance building for the port side ship.

If i remember correctly there is a duty free in the port building to you right after you go through security. Was only there last month.

We were on Iona a week ago. Lava stone Steak was definitely on the Menu.

My wife is a part time (fold up) wheelchair user, being that she has difficulty in walking on her own. We often use standard cabins, but as the doors tend to close on their own we take a door wedge to keep the door open while I steady her to get into the cabin rather than tying to keep it open with my foot. much easier 😀

HI just returned from two weeks in Canaries on Iona was hearing quite a few pax had sickness/tummy bug on board. lucky we never had it. So anyone joining today remember to wash your hands frequently.

when we had doors on the left as looking from corridor bed was next to wardrobes sofa at the balcony end both times as I remember. (different cabins)

just turn up in the club house or where ever and show passports for your cabin not everyone needs to turn up just one person from each cabin with the passports from those in the cabin . that is it.

Sat 27 Jan 24 Emergency Evacuation Chair Passenger 2 Sat 27 Jan 24 Southampton Embark Noticed this on our invoice for upcoming cruise I did select my wife would need assistance on the stairs in case of an emergency ( she is a wheelchair user). So now it is recorded. not usually shown never seen it before.

I would rather be in a virtual queue than a physical one. Imagine standing for a long time inching forward rather than waiting in your comfortable location ( cabin , open deck , bar or lounge) which one would I choose. Virtual no brainier. 🙂

HI best not to take my word on it, perhaps speak to your plumber or water company to make sure.

Having just had a water pipe burst and repaired yesterday the plumber said to me as we were chatting about our upcoming cruise only 14 days with me saying glad it happen now and not when we are away, he said his best advice was to turn off water supply at the stopcock if you go on holiday for a period of time. and you can keep the central heating on low( to keep house slight warm to prevent frost) and it does not need the supply on.

I remember it also on Azura a few years back, not all the time. I think it was on deck 7 just before the photo gallery.
