  1. You may speak to guest services once onboard to inquire about reserving a lounge for your event. It may not be possible but never hurts to ask.
  2. I have no idea. They've been messing with the luggage tags and boarding documents lately. Changing the verbiage etc. I personally have never printed my luggage tags or other documents in color. I haven't owned a color printer at home in over a decade.
  3. There have always been and will always be Luddites. The world cannot cater to their needs however. Onward and upward. Technology is good and bad but is mostly a good thing. With the HUB app in particular - there is no more a need to crowd the entrance to restaurants, the app tells you when your table is ready. You no longer need to wait in line to visit guest services - you can make an appointment on the app. You can order room service for delivery anywhere on the ship from the app. You always know the exactly accurate ship time. Etc. Lots of good reasons to use the app. As to why I think the FunTimes, paper menus, etc., still need to exist in spite of the HUB app - the HUB app is not sufficiently developed yet. Arthur C. Clarke said any sufficiently developed technology is indistinguishable from magic. The HUB app isn't Madame Leota on The Haunted Mansion ride yet.
  4. Hindsight is 20/20 as they say...
  5. On Ecstasy, they would play movies in the aft lounge. They took the aft lounge out of Elation to fit in more staterooms. So I am not sure where they would play movies.
  6. Make an account with a brokerage - TD Ameritrade, Charles Schwab, Fidelity, maybe your bank, whoever, and buy the stock. Make sure you know what you're getting in to. Are you prepared to lose every dime you invest the day after you buy the stock (absolutely nothing is guaranteed with investing)? Do you understand the tax implications of investing? etc etc...
  7. They don't usually get new questions. They'll just change out the trivia offered. Instead of Friends trivia, they'll do Jurassic Park trivia. Etc. The Fun Squad determines the trivia offered on each cruise.
  8. On some of the newest ships yes I believe you can.
  9. I really don't care to be preached to about waste from a company that prints thousands of photos every cruise on many of their ships that are simply thrown away.
  10. They weren't overworked 3 years ago, if they are now that is Carnival's issue to solve not mine. They should not be charging people for their water when the website says you can take the water out of your room. I've had them charge me for my free drink at sea day brunch when it should be free. Etc. The paper certificates and automatic delivery were much easier.
  11. Would be easier for everyone, except I guess for carnival, if they would just deliver these gifts to the stateroom automatically.
  12. The only time Carnival charges a corkage is if you bring a bottle of wine from home to dinner. You would not pay corkage if you served the wine yourself in your cabin etc.
  13. The same as American cruises. The rules don't change. Just the enforcement is different - the workers in Europe aren't going to stop you from carrying on alcohol generally.
  14. Have one person book the bunaglow and the other person book the stingray. I will say if you're totally unable to do this, book the bungalow online and book the stingray onboard. The stingray excursions typically do not sell out because they do so many of them during the day. Specific times may sell out though.
  15. I have never seen them have sugar free available, at least not at the casino bar. Other bars may have it.
  16. I like the koozie slap bracelets for what they are but I welcome higher value gifts like this obviously.
  17. The shots they sell in the souvenir glasses are not for me. Way too sweet. I don't like sweet drinks.
  18. They will not turn you away if you arrive earlier, but if there are lines in the terminal you will be directed to an early arrival line and will be processed after those who arrived during their appointment are processed.
  19. Onboard trivia died when the wifi was made available bow to stern. I still play just to kill time on a sea day but I have no aspersions that I'll even rank in the top 5 of players. The lone exception is last year I played the same trivia on 3 cruises, and was able to memorize some answers. I still lost but not by as much.
  20. You should mention to her or the cruise director (who is the leader of the fun squad) your feedback. I have played trivia several times on Sunshine and never experienced this.
  21. We are discussing the bottles of liquor you could buy before the cruise for delivery to your cabin. Duty free liquor is still held until the end of the cruise.
  22. Regardless, resort fees are a completely different issue and I'm not really sure why you mentioned it. It's not a gratuity or anything like that.
  23. Making your own pours is definitely a good reason to get the bottles. The bottles used to come cheaper. You get about 22 shots. At the current prices for a bottle there is very little savings over buying drinks from the bar or room service.
  24. You may not have seen this, but page 2 of this file is an accessible deck plan which highlights all the accessible routes, restrooms, and staterooms on the ship. https://www.carnival.com/~/media/Images/Ships/MD/DeckPlans/mardi-gras-deck-plan-pdf
  25. The difference of course is resort fees are shown when booking. Gratuities are not disclosed anywhere in the booking process, and could change (several times in fact as we've seen) until they actually post to your onboard account.
