  1. Generally the buffet has the same food as what is served in the MDR, so even if you can't go to the MDR you won't miss out for the most part.
  2. Cellular at Sea can handle SMS as well, at a cost per message (again, dependent upon your carrier's roaming rates).
  3. Yeah I think any Carnival ship at over 100% capacity is going to be crowded, except I guess the Spirit class. It doesn't make much difference which ship you sail at that point.
  4. Please don't let my rambling give you anxiety. I have no idea what I'm talking about. I'm just a person with a keyboard.
  5. If that were true then everyone would be getting free room+funplay+DOUE offers. The offers you get has to be based upon level of play. Otherwise how do they determine who gets free room offers and who just gets DOU. Or who gets invited to Ultra cruises and who only gets Getaways or Premier.
  6. Apparently nobody else knows what WiFi calling is except me and OP. FaceTime and Skype are not the same thing. But I realize everyone is trying to be helpful while giving unhelpful information. If the call is seriously important, you can turn on your cell phone's cellular signal and roam on Cellular at Sea to make the call. Be sure cellular data is turned off (use wifi for data) and turn off airplane mode to connect to Cellular at Sea. Rates for Cellular at Sea can be expensive - but if you need to make the call then it might be worth it. See your carrier's rates for that. Another option would be a VOIP solution like SkypeOut - I get 60 minutes of SkypeOut a month as I am a Microsoft Office 365 subscriber. Granted this uses a different phone number than your cell number. I have never tried it onboard however.
  7. It's probably possible if everything is choreographed properly but I can't see there being much room for error.
  8. Carnival has added individual ADA lifts to decks (deck 10 to 11 on Freedom during the 2019 drydock for example) but when they've added decks to ships they've always extended the existing elevator shaft. However, they'll usually only extend one or two shafts rather than the entire bank of elevators.
  9. Hmmm I could see them add a deck somewhere for more cabins like they did to Elation and Paradise, which would mean they'd need to extend elevators up another deck. But I can't see them adding another bank of elevators. That just doesn't make sense.
  10. My wife and I watch the Travel Channel when vegging out in the cabin. Usually it's playing Ghost Nation or some other ghost story show. Just mindless TV for us.
  11. The smallest portion of the lasagna is still enormous I'm sure! I love that lasagna and I'm usually a pretty big eater for supper but it looks like I've barely touched that slab when I give up.
  12. I think the large cruise lines made the crew shortage permanent by simply not hiring back as many crew as they had before. Perhaps it was initially because of the State Department, but not anymore.
  13. I wouldn’t plan on it. But maybe. Download shows and movies to your device beforehand.
  14. I think it was Bill Shakespeare that said, therein lies the rub.
  15. Probably the most overused word on this forum is "entitled"
  16. The casino prints money for the company. Any comps they spend pale in comparison to the money that comes in through the casino.
  17. The great Merle Haggard has a message for the haters here.
  18. "Cause the players gonna play, play, play, play, play And the haters gonna hate, hate, hate, hate, hate" - Taylor Swift
  19. Show us on the doll where the OBC hurt you.
  20. Carnival didn't change the room service menu, they just started charging for it. Should be able to get a PB&J, grilled cheese, etc, or similar off the kids menu in the dining room. Deli serves sandwiches too but not the basic PB&J or grilled cheese though.
  21. I remember on one of my cruises during the initial restart, the magician onboard remarked that he had to surrender the scissors he used for his act and check them out from security for his performances.
  22. Hmm, I'm not sure where their line of what they allow vs not is - but if I were running security for CCL I wouldn't allow that either. We're in a different world than we were 20 cruises ago.
  23. It’s a box of popcorn similar to what they sell at Target at the snack stand for like $1. The $4 they charge on carnival is robbery and punitive like the $6 they charge for a PB&J through room service.
  24. A lot of Carnival ships have a very narrow walkway in that area. It's not unique to the Radiance. I noticed it on Freedom, which is Conquest class.
