They may not take away the benefit, but all they have to do is further re-interpret what "reduced rate" means and all of a sudden nobody is eligible for the credit anymore because nobody pays brochure rates.

COVID (or rather, this country's haphazard response to COVID) certainly caused them to pile up a lot of debt to keep the company going in the interim. But COVID isn't why they're still not a profitable business. We're coming up on the start of the third year of cruising after the COVID pause. -
You can't select a check-in time until 16 days before the cruise. Someone on here reported they were able to select a 9:30 port arrival appointment in Miami. Previously I thought they didn't start until 10.

But I keep getting told in other threads that I am paying for my cruises through gambling even though I only cruise Carnival with free room offers. Which is it? -
As I said in another thread, they don't care because there are plenty blue and red card folks behind us. But that won't be true forever.

They usually start continental breakfast at 6AM, hot breakfast at 7. (On Lido) Coffee shop opens around the same time. The other bars don't start opening until later.

I am hoping that somehow this guest got a "draft" boarding pass because the typo, abbreviations for port and ship, and no final boarding time makes me think something is wrong.

If you sail on a Casino branded cruise (premier, ultra, etc) they typically waive the service fees FYI.

Carnival has access to a nearly unlimited supply of cabin stewards from the third world, so if the cabins aren't ready on time it's because that's what Carnival wants. No other reason.

Well it sounds like it might be, but that's an Apple thing. I think it's a security thing to make sure somebody hasn't stolen your phone number perhaps. The same thing would happen to you right now if you put your iPhone on airplane mode for a few days, it's not something that Carnival is doing.

Correct and the new boarding pass says stateroom access is at 1:30 for everyone. So it seems that even dropping your bags off is no longer allowed.

It's a shame that early stateroom access seems to be gone for everyone now. Apparently you can still drop off bags but this is not documented anywhere that I can tell, so it's a matter of time before that's gone too I'm sure. Really takes away a major reason for buying FTTF in my mind...especially at its current price.

Carnival blocks cellular based wifi calling. Apps like Skype or FaceTime Audio or Zoom should work, given adequate internet speeds. -

If there are awards for the fewest number of days where bacon is served on the buffet, Carnival would certainly lead that contest. Or the longest time of compulsory once a day cabin service. Otherwise I'm not seeing many areas where they're a leader these days. -

They have no cash but they also can't have their newest ships visit what is arguably their most popular destination, especially a destination where all the money spent ashore funnels through their coffers. To me it seems they have no choice but to build a dock. -

Too many guests to do it effectively, it would take 4 hours to get everyone off, and then it's time to make them line up to get back on before we are late for the next stop. -
They probably are doing some construction in the port of Long Beach to support the upcoming Firenze. I agree Seafood Shack seems to be underutilized, I would love to see it replaced with Shaq's fleetwide.

It's been my experience that eventually iMessage will stop working (2 or 3 days in maybe?) because it wants to verify my phone number and my phone has to stay on airplane mode.
