  1. The fact is pretty much all of my complaints with Magic could be taken care of by Carnival with regular maintenance. It doesn't take a drydock to replace the upholstery in the MDR. They can do that in phases on turnaround/port days. They can add extra scrubbers in the casino to clear smoke any time. They can enforce their smoking rules and kick people off who break them anytime. The fact is, Carnival doesn't care that their ships look nasty. If they cared, they'd fix the problem. Actions (or rather, lack of action) speaks louder than words.
  2. Asking for the same team every night is a good way to do ATD. I find that generally they try their best to do that anyways.
  3. Good point, yeah I didn't think about that. Just let the chlorine offgas.
  4. Starry and Starry Zero are fleetwide. Carnival switched away from Sprite years ago now...before COVID.
  5. You will hear some noise and feel vibrations during docking operations from the bow thrusters.
  6. There is always the possibility that a bartender will bend the rules for you. But by the rules of the program, Bottomless Bubbles is a "by the glass" program. So don't act shocked when they serve you a glass of soda and don't give you the can.
  7. I am saying that the Bahamas should not be allowed to change the tax rate for port calls already scheduled. They should only be able to change it for future calls. Obviously the cruise lines have to pass on the tax. Just like they pass on their employee's wages by calling them gratuities, etc.
  8. I don't think they should be allowed to change the tax rate on ship calls that were already on the calendar. If they want to re-negotiate tax rates on future calls, fine. But not those that were already scheduled. But it's their sandbox and their rules so it is what it is. I'm sure the cruise lines are unhappy but what can they do? The Bahamas and Nassau knows for example that there are very few ports that can accommodate the super ships that the mainstream lines are building these days. Nassau is one of the few. And The Bahamas has most of the private island destinations. Perfect Day isn't going anywhere, even if this extra tax doubles in cost. If the ships leave Nassau behind because of the tax there's not many other places they can stop, especially not all those ships all at once.
  9. While I'm sure the ship's water is fine for the machine, is it good to be breathing in halogenated water?
  10. It really is, especially since you can buy more soda and bring them on at each port of call.
  11. Pretty much any insurance company sells travel insurance. insuremytrip.com sponsors a board on this forum for example.
  12. Cruising in general is quickly pricing the middle class out.
  13. What would prevent your husband from sailing? I am assuming he would need to be your caretaker?
  14. The CFAR provision is underwritten by Carnival, not AON - so if you do end up needing to use that provision you'd call Carnival to file the claim. Confusing, I know.
  15. You will not be given full unopened cans with Bubbles. Bubbles is a "by the glass" program. On ships so equipped, you can use the soda machines.
  16. Well to be fair there are warnings like that on everything these days.
  17. I feel like you will be Platinum and will get perks for this cruise. Enjoy the fanny pack!

  19. There are plenty of things that would kill fat drunk people before a hot tub.
  20. Miami traffic is so unpredictable I'd keep the 8:30 Uber tbh...
  21. I would say this is all but a guarantee.
  22. Oh my god no fanny pack? The humanity!
