  1. The cost of materials has nothing to do with the retail price of a good. Do you think that PB&J on the room service menu costs Carnival $6? LOL
  2. Perhaps one day the VIFP program will be based on spend, but today it isn't. It is based upon nights cruised. It doesn't matter who pays for the room. You can be upset about that and wish it changed, but then you'd need to turn in your 75 Diamond Milestone card that you got thanks to casino rates...
  3. It's not free to Hilton or Howard Johnson or McDonald's either but they make it free to their guests as an amenity.
  4. I was raised under the ethos of once you know better, you should do better. Sad to see that is not universal. I think that if it was, the world would be a much better place.
  5. If the ship is docked overnight then yes. You can come and go as you please. Sometimes the ship will leave overnight and do maneuvers offshore so they can open the casino, shops, etc., so keep that in mind. I don't know if they're doing that for your particular cruise.
  6. gotta love when someone is confidently incorrect...
  7. It's been fun watching the mental gymnastics from some here to continue cheerleading in the face of unprecedented cutbacks over the past few years.
  8. You may be new here, there has been a horrific bacon shortage aboard Carnival ships for like 3 years now.
  9. They say they do but I have never tested the policy to have any first-hand knowledge.
  10. Why do you think that just because CLIA is an organization that Carnival is a voluntary member of that those regulations are any less important than those that may be imposed by a governmental entity?
  11. If you want to eat at ChiBang for supper you should book YTD. You can eat there once per cruise for supper at no charge. Bonsai is an additional charge venue. https://www.carnival.com/cruise-ships/carnival-celebration#dining
  12. You might be too late for a cruise at the end of June, that's high season and cruises are under unprecedented demand. Your best bet will probably be Mardi Gras or Celebration if you want a Carnival cruise.
  13. Please explain how a rogue game of LRC could adhere to the "internal controls" section of the CLIA document you provided in post #88. Come to think of it, how could a rogue game of LRC adhere to any of the sections?
  14. Carnival regulates their onboard gambling under the CLIA. You may notice the CLIA emblem on slot machines onboard.
  15. Most people don't typically buy Tanzanite or fine fragrances, specialty watches etc so folks don't have a frame of reference for if it's a good deal or not. That's a good point.
  16. That doesn't prove anything other than they haven't found it in your bags yet. And it makes sense because they're mostly looking for booze, weapons, and drugs.
  17. You don't need to use the app and select a debarkation zone if you're doing self-assist.
  18. Why waste your time? He's not going to tell you why and you already know why. At the end of the day it doesn't matter why.
  19. Post #7 Whether or not you believe it is another matter. It's not because the money spent at LRC is money that Carnival won't see in the casino. Carnival captures plenty of spend these days, and more all the time thanks to proprietary ports like the upcoming Celebration Key.
  20. I'm sure people discuss things like that on airport critic if such a site exists.
  21. Probably the best brand that will agree to have their merchandise carried on the ships.
  22. They sell plenty of it to folks who don't know any better or who want to treat themselves on vacation. Etc.
  23. I've had good luck at MIA. MCO is a different story...but not too bad there either, this time of year.
  24. this is cruise critic. What should we discuss here in your opinion?
