  1. 1. The internet does have a max amount of minutes depending upon what you were given in your package, mine is 150 minutes. Thats enough to check in, not run a social media site, just post a few pics and read a few emails. Some ships are upgrading to star link, many do not have that, so call your rep or research further as you didn't mention your ship name so I can address it specifically. The drink package is unlimited to $15 or $16 bucks per drink and you can order 2 at a time. If you have a taste for higher premium liquors and such, when you go to order the premium package, it gives you a list of the liquors. Because you can access this from various spots on NCL website, have a sip and just keep clicking on My reservation and your booking and you will find it. This site is not as easy as RCCL or Celebrity. I'm still working through the specialty restaurants, that are covered with this promotion, as I book one that is ala carte, I can book one, but the "free at sea" one seems to be a circus. Most of the time we prefer, early, are definitely booked on sea days.. I can't say for sure about the comped specialty dinning, as I tried to book it 100 days before sail and it won't happen. Someone here will soon correct me and give you/and me the details and we will both learn.. TY all in advance!
  2. Thanks in advance, our first of 3 NCL booked, I have used the search option, but it uses each key work and gets wonky and off-topic from there. So going forward: 1. I have the free at-sea dining package for 2, one meal. We are 100 days from sailing on a nine-night on the sky we were able to book additional specialty restaurants for ala carte, but cannot book our comped dining. This has to be done on arrival? We already have 3 booked, can we work this in somehow for a basic credit? I do NOT wish to purchase the grouped dining as we looked at the menu and really prefer multiple apps and freedom to do such, ty in advance. 2. Bottled water is not included in the free at-sea basic drink package. Do we just bring a tumbler? Thoughts on this? 3. The dreaded clothing question, we are coming from Alaska in the Bush, to Miami (4 to 5 legs of trips with multiple variable fees for luggage), and then spending another 25 days in the lower 48 states before and after this cruise. So luggage IS very tight. With specialty restaurants, I've researched I can wear an appropriate sun dress in heels, and my husband needs a pair of khakis with a collared shirt. (small ship, we booked all three restaurants, the steak house, the Italian, and the French one). Are long pants mandated, if so, good with us, just need to know... not opinions, please. Oh if a moderate sun dress is not ok for dinner, I mean knee length, not showing off the gals, let me know too. 3b. If the clothing guidelines I have read are accurate for me and the husband, NOT starting a war with dress code folks, been there/done that... what shoes for men are acceptable in these three food specialties venues, and closet space on this ship is tight, is there laundry that isn't boiled and burn on board? 4. I read through so many sources I can bring wine, but no bottled water. Please confirm or deny this. Ty you all in advance, It's very difficult to switch to a new line, where previously here I was so easily frustrated with the very same questions that were posed on other boards. I sincerely thank you in advance and let us NOT get into a dress code war! We are traveling 5200 miles and need to pack smart.
  3. Right? I was trying to figure out how this was going to be three pages, but here we are. Just address the issue and let us know.
  4. I've had no issues on my 20 previous cruises. Why not just call for the room steward, get this corrected and post the result? Why the internet first? Of course, the situation was unsatisfactory to walk into. Just clarify the issue and allow a fix to happen.
  5. Yes, you can walk right in. I had my invite card with me and no-one asked to see it. Brought my daughter who was a lower tier level.
  6. The RCCL website and app can get funky. It happens
  7. Not south beach, as there is seaweed , some small minnow type fish, but not much. As can happen anywhere, grandson was stung by a jellyfish. Those stinkers are so hard to see in the water.
  8. We did the WOS with a 2 year old. There is a GREAT splash pad and a few activities areas for them. A play area deck 15/16 one of the boardwalk and one next to the Adventure Ocean club thats indoors. The adventure ocean club only gives you "x" amount of hours, and it seems to vary per ship. We were given 8 hours for the cruise. You can always call each day to see if there are additional openings as folks cancel. It's like $8/hr. On our cruise, they pool attendants allowed the younger ones with swim diapers in the pool, an area I don't want to get into a debate with, But I would NOT expect this to be the case as it's against the rules. So find one with a good splash pad!
  9. port Canaveral we paid as we entered in May. It may have been $160 for the week, plus or minus 20 bucks.
  10. That is very high. Unless your kids will have the time of their lives, needing water slides, skip it. There are plenty of activities for free, imho.
  11. WOS, no white party in May 7-14 sailing, unless I missed it.
  12. Mine didn't update either but I just sailed in May. Despite what they showed being wrong it was correct on my cruise and I received all the appropriate discounts and invites. I still don't have it fixed, and I'm tired of calling to get it corrected. They had it right on the ship and I don't know how. But I hope that info helps. Oh, don't bother with guest services either, they told me to call C&A again, lol.
  13. Mine is still wrong after 6 months, three cruises and multiple calls. I just know when I sailed in May, they had my correct place in crown and anchor and I received all the correct benefits, invites and such. Meanwhile the app, still shows it doesn't have any idea what I have accumulated.
  14. overcooked. Not a fan at all, but others may find it edible.. it's all subjective.
  15. I had serious issues with it and had to keep reconnecting to the ship wifi. As Biker19 said connect all your folks to your app. Sometimes it would show messages but usually you had to keep looking to see if there were new ones. In my case (WOS), not everyone had my issues of connectivity as my card is a funky Alaskan one, I hate to suggest purchasing the wifi, but it would have helped for us. There is a voom desk that can assist your group as well. It was deck four on WOS, but you can find it on your ship.
  16. The room service wings for 7.99$ delivery, got the BBQ and buffalo were definately excellent and an alternative as well, WINK
  17. The wings at playmakers were excellent as well as the service on WOS in MAY. They were WAY underpriced imho and I found it a steal. As wing prices increase all over the US and distribution pipe lines, this is going to hit the prices on the cruise ship. So I happily pay the increase. Or do we demand the price of the cruise for others to subsidize our wing loving/eating venue? I think not. A good decision for RCCL, imho. I want to eat them, hence I pay more for the product I prefer.
  18. Yes, we are those dang smokers. Any pictures of the small smoking area on the open deck (I think it's 15 or 16). Is it covered if there is rain? How is the smoking area in the casino? I understand that you need to be an active player to smoke in it, We generally only play craps and table etiquette is not to smoke at the craps table. Is there a craps table in the smoking section, I just cannot see smoking while playing. Or are we required to do slots? Thanks in advance for not smoke shaming me and my bad habit, I know, I know. Appreciate any info.
  19. here for the journey, may you have the most excellent cruise!
  20. THANK YOU! This is the one that I can never work with! So I bring my own, I once pushed the cork IN because I had lost the battle after it broke in half, lol
  21. Ouch! for reference, can you share which cruise line has food that you prefer? Food is quite subjective and that was quite scathing!
  22. Ok, so now I'm confused. Your table orders their protein, it's cooked and passed around on a plate for everyone to take the amount they wish and you can ask for more. So this is family style? I may sound weird, but 5 other folks handling said plate and taking food from them may not be for me. How are the sides handled? In hibachi, the cook puts your food on your plate, no one else touches it. I also like my beef fairly rare, so if I ask for it medium rare, do I get it that way? Thanks in advance.
  23. we regularly use viator and trip advisor for excursions. We do nothing through the ship. After careful perusing through reviews, we choose one. We also rent vehicles on our own as well. Note, if you do this, check to make sure the spare isn't FLAT. Thats for another thread. We make special note of the local time/vrs ship time and leave an hour extra (that includes travel time back to the port). So ship leaves at 6pm, we are back on port by 5pm. Also take note of the port information that is provided that includes a phone number to the port in case of emergency. Briefly: we had a flat tire in Aruba, and it was the port master that helped us get enterprise employees off their butt to change our tire and get us back in time. So that was our closest issue, but we are always well prepared to DIY.
