No, a pedicure is not a medical procedure unless performed by a podiatrist. And podiatrists are not medical doctors so the procedure is likely not even covered by health insurance. The pedicures most women pay $35 for are provided by licensed manicurists and fall under the umbrella of cosmology…here in the US, that is.

LCG is a fav of ours. Love the chocolate chip cookie so much that I bought the fluted dishes to make my own. How hard can it be? Apparently, pretty hard. 🙃Still perfecting the dish. We also enjoy the outdoor dining atmosphere. Like you, we have mixed reviews of the food.

Time is too short for such misgivings. Follow where your heart leads without the persuasion of strangers. Only you know what’s right for you. -
Suite Guarantee on Apex and/or Ascent
Georgia_Peaches replied to MarEll1's topic in Celebrity Cruises
We booked a suite guarantee on Ascent and we were assigned an S1, mid-ship on deck 10. We were very pleased with the assignment. I guess a downside could be the same for any room guarantee category and that would be the risk of getting the least desirable room location. For some, that would include a magic carpet assignment (which we expected). However, we would have been happy with a MC room. They are very spacious both in room area and in balcony. There is one SS location that I think would have been unsuitable and that’s the suite on each deck that shares a wall with the end rooms of the MC. I say this bc their balcony is recessed while the MC balcony protrudes. This blocks the view of one side….going from a typical 180 degree view to 90 degrees. -
We didn't hear about out move up bids until 24 hours before our embarkation...we didn't win. I think you'll get a notification either way any time now.

There have been a few threads on this topic lately expressing a great deal of frustration. You are not alone. I tend to think a communication with Celebrity directly about your frustration will be read much sooner (and more likely) than in a post on Cruise Critic. They do monitor the Celebrity board but I’m not sure policy will be altered much by what they read. I hope I’m wrong. In the meantime, check out MSC. I’ve read some positive remarks from solo travelers over there.

Celebrity…please read this!
Georgia_Peaches replied to Cruising Princess's topic in Celebrity Cruises
Did you happen to read @Stem to Stern’ s live side by side review of Summit and MSC? He provided a lot of pics of the Summit as well as a pretty positive review of the ship/overall experience. In fact, I’m looking at cruises on the Summit as a result. Personally, I wouldn’t give the negative nellies a second thought. -
I did a move up and now possibly regretting it.

Actually, these are very nice suites IMO. We toured one on Ascent and loved the size of the room and balcony. We booked one on the Edge for our Alaska cruise in May. If you get a MC suite on deck 6, the upside is that you are close to all the indoor action! -
I’m hot natured but was comfortable on Ascent. Found public spaces temps to be just right.

South America/Antarctica 2026 and Drinks Package
Georgia_Peaches replied to Tiggipaws's topic in Celebrity Cruises
2+ years out and already thinking about cocktails, huh? 😂🤣 You’re my kinda cruiser! seriously though, I’d purchase now. You can always cancel and repurchase if/when packages go on sale. I would frequently check the planner for discounts. -
Thank you! Glad to help and love paying it forward! 😊. I’m following a review right now on the Alaska board.. I call it a review but it’s really months out from actually starting but the OP has posted everything they’ve done from start to finish to plan for their trip. They’ve even line itemized their budget. I’ve learned so much…a key take away is that Alaska excursions can get very expensive and sell out quickly. I’m so grateful to that Op. To your point about whining and complaining, I think you spoke truth. And it can get tiring but even the whining and complaining can garner good cruising intel. Happy cruising in 2024!!

Wow! Yes, I can't imagine planning a cruise without searching here on CC. Such an absolute wealth of planning information.

Bon Voyage & Happy New Year 2024
Georgia_Peaches replied to Bill Miller's topic in Celebrity Cruises
Edge to Alaska embarking May 31st! Looking for ideas for a fall cruise but haven't yet figured it out. Happy New Year! 🍾🥂 -
Are you suggesting that a given cruise line should require more documentation than a readily accepted government issued ID/passport? I would think that if it's good enough to satisfy a government then it's good enough for cruise lines...after all, most cruise lines model their travel and documentation requirements after what the government deems as acceptable, no? Confused.

This is our room noise on Seashore...no sleep
Georgia_Peaches replied to jinpasco's topic in MSC Cruises
Oh my…not good. My ear plugs have a 33 decibel noise reduction (or so it says on the package). I use them bc I sleep next to a freight train (DH) at night. They do a good job. I get them at Walmart. -
Magnifica, not so magnifica, good booze cruise

Too bad MSc didn’t stop in key West first instead on the way back. We were once on an itinerary that hit key West last before returning to Mia and like you, we had to do a customs check on board in the early morning. Never again. If we have a key West itin it will be the first stop or we find a different itinerary. I know it’s not much help to you but it might be helpful info for others. Thanks for the report! -
I’ve sailed Meraviglia, Seashore, and Seaside. We haven’t had issues on any of the ships like you’ve described. But I have certainly read about some of the things you mentioned: crowding in the buffet, slow and lacking service, rudeness at guest relations. Honestly, it’s the reason we’ve only sailed on MSC in the YC. It may not be so affordable for a family of six but I would say MSC does seem to be selling two different products.
