  1. Why would an 8 day cruise be any different for the staff as a 7 day or am I not understanding your question?
  2. They do not give complimentary upgrades. You will not lose your RU2 deal. I've gotten "upsells" and the deal from the original offer do not change, only the cabin.
  3. I can tell from personal experience that the smoke free casino on the Celebration is truly smoke free! You cannot smell the smoking area at all.
  4. Here's a link discussing (and ranting) about the cabana price increase: HMC Villas are listed as $999.99 now?!?!
  5. It's only select ships at this point
  6. During our Alaskan cruise last May, we experienced extremely rough waters for a few days. We went on the Miracle out of San Fran. It was a great ship. Never felt crowded. To be honest, the way you describe his likes and dislikes AND seasickness, it doesn't sound like cruising is for him....just sayin......
  7. Nothing to write home about. If you forget, you won't miss much. 🙂
  8. $8000 on a Royal Flush on the heads up hold'em table.
  9. Celebration still had Let it Ride, Three Card Poker, Heads up and some blackjack at $5 minimum 2 weeks ago AND it was an Elite cruise
  10. My husband bought me a ring and earrings from Effy on board the Celebration. They are white & Yellow Diamonds. I had them appraised at home by my jeweler friend and they were appraised for what I paid.
  11. We have eaten at Rudi's on the Celebration 3 times on our 2 past cruises. We thought the food was very good and the service outstanding. As jimbo554 said, we also thought it was better than the steakhouse.
  12. A catamaran is not a good idea for someone with mobility issues. We were just on a catamaran in St Thomas (Adventuress) and you have to be able to walk onto a narrow step to get onto the catamaran and the ride is not smooth. If you look at the excursion, it will tell you if it's inappropriate for someone with mobility issues
  13. I understand. We book through Carnival, because we always worry about getting back to the ship on time which actually happened this last cruise. We got back late from an excursion in St Thomas. There were about 40 of us that got back to the ship about 20 minutes late.
  14. We have done the western Caribbean more times than I can count and have never encountered any issues. We do, however, only book excursions through Carnival.
  15. The traffic issue was due to the Ultra music festival and an overturned tractor trailer in the tunnel. We have done over 20 cruises out of Miami and have NEVER experienced the nightmare that was on that weekend.
  16. You will not see the CC OBC until you are on the ship. It will show up on the second day of your cruise.
  17. The only plugs in the room on the Celebration are on the opposite side of the room under the mirror. There are no plugs on the side of the bed or couch. Next to the bed are only USB ports. There were MANY scooters on our cruise last week and none were parked in the hallway at least on our floor or any floors we walked through. We were in a regular balcony and I don't see how a scooter would fit in any part of the cabin. Celebration is an awesome ship. Enjoy!
  18. I find this hard to believe. How do they know what "you CAN spend"??
  19. My luggage tags between the name and date has Carnival Celebration-spelled out.
  20. I do not play slots (unless I get bored at the tables) So any offers I get is based on my table play. I'm not a big better but I do spend a lot of time in the casino. My husband gets more fun play than I do but we both get the DOU everywhere. Right now I have about 5+ different offers with the DOU everywhere.
  21. WE are degenerate gamblers and we get the DOU everywhere for all our offers, no matter the cabin type. I couldn't tell you the secret sauce. I just think it's random.
  22. Why bother John Heald for this request when you can go to the dining room on embarkation day and request it yourself. We have never had a problem getting a table for 2. Sometimes you may have to wait for the second day for the matre d to accommodate you.
  23. If it's your offer, you will be the only one in the Ultra drawings, unless he has the same offer.
  24. You have to be out of your cabin by 8:30 AM at the latest.
  25. You can ask, i may not tell 😆 but on a serious note, my husband usually gives the servers a $5 chip. (for the 2 of us) He always has a server that comes to him for the rest of the cruise. Rarely do we have to wait for a drink.
