  1. Read the comments about uncomfortable mattresses in the regular cabins. What cabins would I need to book to avoid these uncomfortable mattresses?
  2. Followed you over from the Princess board! Thanks for sharing the highlights over there. Virgin sounds terrific to us and they’re all inclusive is everything we need. I’m curious how they handle various dietary restrictions, My DH has to be on a very low sodium diet and Princess accommodates by taking his order the night before and they prepare it with no salt or as low salt as possible. Do you think VIrgin would be able to accommodate?
  3. Thank you for sharing your experience and the link to your live. I’m going to read it! What’s included in the Virgin fare is perfect for us. We usually get Princess Plus for the Wi-Fi and gratuities. We don’t drink a lot of alcoholic beverages so just get the package for convenience. Water, soda, coffee and tea would be enough for us. Only question I have is, is the ship very noisy with loud music playing throughout the ship?

  5. Are the clocks moving forward an hour so you’ll be on the same time as the port stop (Puerto Vallarta)? Just wondering for planning purposes for an independent group tour on a future cruise.

  11. Wash hands often and especially whenever we return to our cabin. Carry miniature hand sanitizer with me to use if I’ve touched high contact surfaces and hand washing isn’t feasible. Avoid crowds, including crowded elevators as much as possible. Mask if can’t avoid those situations. Avoid the buffet.

  14. Must be so disappointing for those on the inaugural. There was no mention of a delivery date so I’m guessing it may impact more cruises. glad I’m not sailing on her until September 2025.
  15. I am also booked on the Sun for a Fall 2025 cruise. I’m platinum and am still not able to make any dining reservations, My message says “We could not find reservations at this time. Please check back later.” (See pic). A few weeks ago, I was reading through some of the Sun Princess roll calls and I think even passengers on cruises scheduled for February 2024 were having difficulty making dining reservations.
  16. I haven’t downloaded the new app. When it’s time, I will probably use Cruise Personalizer and get my luggage tags that way. The apps seems to be a big pain.
  17. That’s so convenient to have the menu in the app! Do they only show that day’s menu or are menus for the entire week available?
  18. Hopefully, if your ship neighbors had COVID, they did the right thing like you and isolated. I’ve had to isolate before too..,self-reported gastro issues and the ship personnel called to check in on me twice a day until I had no symptoms for 24 hours. We were lucky to have a mini suite that time. Now, we will always book at least a balcony in case we have to isolate.
  19. Last night, I helped my brother in law order his medallion for shipping. Initially, he wasn’t able to enter shipping info and could only select to pick up at port. He doesn’t have plus or premier so we thought it was because he needed to enter credit card info in order to pay the $10 shipping costs. He entered info for onboard only and not for shoreside. Then he received some message that said he has to complete the rest of the check-in process first. So, once he completed everything in the check-in and entered a card for onboard charges, he was able to order the medallion for shipment to his home address. Didn’t need to enter credit card for shoreside. He used the web check in and not the old or new app (he hasn’t downloaded either yet).

  21. I noticed that too and I was wondering if my understanding of Reserve Mini Suite was wrong. The Princess diagram shows the Reserve mini suite the same as the Cabana mini suite (e.g. with that indoor conservatory). I don’t think I’d like the separate sunroom because I’d feel it breaks up the space, making each space smaller. I’d rather have the openness of the floor plan of the regular mini suite.
  22. Hi Cruise Raider, Love your updates and I’m looking forward to the TSE cruise in April! Did the maitre’d say if they reserve some spots at the Catch for people to make reservations when onboard? Thank you!

  24. Did you try the web-based version? See instructions in post #803. I was able to order medallions that way. Unfortunately no luck with dining though. The dining options are grayed out so I can’t select anything. In my situation, it might be because the ship isn’t in service yet. I was reading through the “Dine My Way” thread.
