  1. In a way, you're comparing apples and oranges. Minisuite to minisuite (sky suite on X) Celebrity wins, due to the even diluted perks. Both would have showers over tubs. In balcony rooms, Celebrity's are a bit bigger, as they have a couch and Princess has a chair. Also, Celebrity bathrooms have drawers and shower doors, Princess has some shelves and shower curtains, even in mini suites. Between a Celebrity balcony and a Princess reserve minisuite, I'd go Princess.
  2. Agree on dance floor (although the Royal ships on Princess are pretty much the same as S class on X). On specialty dining, I'd give Crown Grill a slight edge over Murano, as it has a wider menu. Of course it's also about 1/2 the price of Celebrity. (I'll let you know about Fine Cut once I'm on a ship with it and try it).
  3. Your pictures are great! We're now 10.5 months from our trip and it's fun to read of others. Hope the trip is great.
  4. Menu looks good, except you're SOL if you don't like chocolate (other than boring friut).
  5. First, have a wonderful anniversary cruise. I'm following because we're on the Ascent in January 2025, and l love live froms.
  6. Since apparently wine and beer are free all day, if we it after happy hour, and just want wine, can we get the lounge wine free from the servers, or do we walk over and get it ourselves? Or am I missing something?
  7. Thank you. The information on the website as above lacks details. This was very helpful.
  8. Hi all. I'm a regular Princess and Celebrity cruiser, and I booked a Crown Loft Suite on Symphony of the Seas for next month. I've been reading the Royal board, and I'm very confused about what we get with this particular suite - I know we don't get a genie, but what do we get and not get - ie what kind of lounge access, what drinks do we get (I know we get 4 vouchers for our Diamond Status via X, but do we get access to a lounge for that?), etc etc. Will I be contacted by anyone prior to sailing (we're about 3 and a half weeks out)? Any clarifications would be very much appreciated.
  9. Sorry your first retreat day was such a miss. As far as Luminae goes, 20:05 is probably one of the more packed times. We usually go about 20:30-2:50 (in other words right before closing. That said, we've not yet been on an Edge class in Luminae, so we'll see. (next month). I really, really hope it gets better for you!!!
  10. Same here. My first Celebrity cruise was with my sister, and we'd stay out until around 1 or two with one of our tablemates. Our luggage got out at 2:30 am. It got picked up. When our Princess cruise was in Victoria until 11:59pm there was no specified time.
  11. I'll be blogging both cruises. It's my first time on both ships, and my only experience on X's E class was a couple of days on the Edge when she was new.
  12. A friend of mine fell and hurt her leg. They did an Xray and said there was a greenstick fracture. (Her husband was convinced they'd put her in traction in the next port). It was Juneau the next morning, and the xray there (and at home after the cruise) said sprained knee. We called him chicken little for a while after that. But the ship did get it wrong.
  13. Hi We're visiting Falmouth next month, and we really don't want to leave the port area, but we want to take home some certified JBM coffee. Is there a place in the port to buy it that's reliable for certified coffee? First time in Jamaica ever. Thanks!
  14. Of course. That's why I figured they could maybe do it.
  15. On a previous cruise, I asked about Greek food, since the officers are Greek. A few days later, they made a Greek meal for us. This was in Luminae.
  16. Glad Luminae is good for you. We did last years TA and loved it. I could eat nothing but the white chocolate mousse for 14 days and still be happy.
  17. I'm following. We're on Symphony for 6 days in December - it will be our first (and maybe only - we'll see - keeping an open mind) RC cruise. We're on the Celebrity Apex right afterward, and so I booked the RC one to not fly across the country for one 7 day cruise. I kind of figured if I'm going to try Royal, I might as well go on a really big ship. (We sail X and Princess)
  18. Exactly. Back in the day, that was all there was. Now it's a longstanding joke.
  19. We're on the Northern Loop next October. Moved from last month to 2025 then back to 2024. So I'm excited to read this. We're doing the Peru extension.
  20. I was on Princess one xmas with a table for 10, and 3 of the 5 sets had one or two Jewish people. We jokingly asked the waiter if tonights dinner had Chinese food. He was so confused.
  21. Fun fact about the orange of the York Mets. Their colors are orange and blue. Orange from the New York (now San Francisco) Giants and blue from the Brooklyn (now Los Angeles) Dodgers.
  22. We did the TA on the Silhouette last year, was a great cruise until disembarkation - we finally decided to leave at about 10:30, and weren't in the cab line until 11:55. This was Miami, but I gather that often TA disembarkation is a mess. We really enjoyed the ship, so we'll follow. Congrats on your retirement. By the way, my husband and I got engaged after two weeks of dating.
