  1. FYI to all reading this thread, This is a friendly reminder to please remember the title of this thread, "Post CRUISE LINE Single Supplement/Solo Bargains HERE". The topic is bargains offered by the CRUISE LINES only... NOT travel agents/agencies (online, brick & mortar, big box, etc.), promoters of hosted group cruises for singles/solos or any other source of cruise purchase. Note the following from the Travel Agent Recommendations section in the Guidelines we all agreed to follow when registering for our free Cruise Critic memberships: Travel Agent Recommendations There shall be no third-party recommendation (whether positive or negative in content) of travel agencies on any forums within Cruise Critic. General discussions regarding the TYPE of AGENCY to be used to purchase a cruise will be allowed, as long as no recommendations for any source of purchase are posted. Touting of your personal cruise agent or cruise line "personal cruise consultant" (or any other venue by which you purchase a cruise) is not allowed on our message boards. Postings that contain "tell them John sent you" will be removed without notice. This means you should not ask about someone's travel agent, nor should you respond in kind. Offering to email someone your travel agent's name or info is also not allowed, nor is asking members to email you for the information. Cruise Critic will remove violations of the "third-party recommendation" guideline without warning. Additional posts may result in permanent suspension of your posting privileges. Also, please note "veiled" or "masked" hints for TA names are not allowed either. In addition, please note the following also from the Guidelines: Other Cruise & Travel Sites Cruise Critic reserves the right to approve or deny links which lead directly to or link to cruise-related material or message boards that are not located within Cruise Critic. Additionally, we respectfully request that you do not use our forums to promote or advertise other cruise-related websites. Perhaps a copy of the first post by cruisinryan on the previous thread will be helpful: A thread for single supplement/solo bargains is very helpful for solo cruisers. 🙂 There used to be one, but it disappeared 😕 ...maybe it got too big. So let's start another one and see what happens. 😄 Post all those great deals everyone! 😄 But remember, you can't mention specific travel agencies, just general info like: "Cruise line .... currently has good prices for solo occupancy on .... sailing". Note the above states general info for cruise line, ship name and sail date are all that has been requested. Please feel free to add the itinerary. And yes, sometimes there may be the need for additional posts requesting & receiving clarification about a previous bargain posted in this thread, but please be considerate of your fellow Cruise Critic members. Posting off-topic chit chat within a thread (aka hijacking) is boring and only wastes everyone's time. Especially for the 182 members following this thread at this time. They only want to know about the latest CRUISE LINE single supplement bargains. I sincerely hope this information will be helpful to all. Happy sails, Host Kat

  4. Howdy @mysisterandl and thank you for your new thread on the Ask a Cruise Question forum! However, it is the forum for general questions regarding cruising & your inquiry is about a specific cruise line cabin. Your thread was off topic there. To help you out I have moved your new thread to the Holland America Line forum where it will be on topic. The majority of your fellow Cruise Critic members that have sailed on Nieuw Statendam frequent this forum and provide feedback here. If you are sailing solo, you might also want to research our Solo Cruisers forum too. I suggest you use the Follow feature on this thread or any other thread where you are interested in the replies. 5. Howdy @Gigglebugg and welcome to the Cruise Critic message boards! Cruise Critic is a great resource for new as well as experienced cruisers and we are so glad you found us and are posting on the boards! Please feel free to browse the Cruise Critic Community Categories list. Read a few threads in the different forums to get a feel for what each forum is about. Make sure you read any pinned threads (aka Stickies) on the top of the first page of threads in a forum. You will find very important instructions or information there. You may want to check out our Disabled Cruise Travel forum. That is where cruisers with physical limitations share their advice and experiences. Also, here are some oldie but goodie Cruise Critic articles that may be helpful: A Beginner's Guide to Accessible Cruising Accessible Cruising: What to Expect How to Rent a Scooter or Wheelchair for Your Cruise Also want to let you know the specific Cruise Critic Roll Call thread for your line, ship and sail date will be the place for you to get to know the other Cruise Critic members sailing with you before your cruise. Your fellow Roll Call thread members may have important information posted in your Roll Call thread. Especially those that have sailed your line, ship or itinerary before. To explain our Roll Call threads, please read What is a Roll Call? Everything you Need to Know and How To: Create A New Roll Call. For more information about our famous Roll Calls, please read the Roll Calls and Our Policy Regarding Facebook and Roll Calls sections in the Guidelines we all agree to follow when registering for our free Cruise Critic memberships. To help you out, click here for your Harmony of the Seas Roll Call thread titled August 28, 2022 Eastern Caribbean and Have a Good Day. Just read through the thread to get to know the others. Then post a reply on the thread by using Reply to this topic to "join". Post an introductory post about yourself. If you want to address a specific post in the thread, click the Quote feature on the specific post. The reply box will appear with the quoted message at top. You type your message under the quote. When done, click Submit Reply. For more information, please see How to: Reply to a Topic / Quote / Multi-Quote. And don't forget, after your cruise be sure to submit your review for publication by Cruise Critic. Many cruisers will benefit from your experience! See How To: Submit a Member Review. I sincerely hope this information will be helpful to someone new to posting on our message boards. Welcome again, and we are glad to have you aboard Cruise Critic! Happy sails, Host Kat
  6. Thanks @Host CJSKIDS for moving this thread to the correct forum! Folks often forget about this forum for the help they need in using the boards. Howdy @californiagirl! This ^ is an example of what @azbirdmom mentions. After typing the ampersand and the member's user name, a list should start forming of user names & their avatars (aka Profile Photo). When you see the user name & avatar you want, just click it on the list and the tag will then appear in your message. Some members have similar user names so please be sure you click the one with the correct avatar. If the tagged member has Notifications turned on, they will receive a notification that you have tagged them in a post. Regarding the Cruise Critic message board Message feature, it is available for use by Administrators & Hosts ONLY. We can use it with each other and to members. If one of us contacts a member via the feature, the member cannot reply back to us. The Message feature is disabled for members and has been I think since the AOL days of over twenty-five years ago. I do know for sure it was that way when I joined Cruise Critic in 2005. However in the olden days when the Cruise Critic message board used vBulletin software, if you and another member had your own registered identities for certain instant messaging networks and placed the info in your Cruise Critic profiles you would then be able to contact each other via those networks. Waaaay back then you could click on User CP or Quick Links then Edit Profile and then scroll down to the Optional Information - All information will be viewable by other forum members section. There you would see the following: Instant Messaging You may enter your registered identity for the instant messaging networks if you would like other visitors to be able to contact you using that medium. ICQ Number AIM Screen Name MSN Messenger Handle Yahoo! Messenger Handle Skype Name Once you entered your registered identity info of one of those networks and clicked the Save Changes button back then, your instant messaging network logo would then appear in the upper right corner of all your Cruise Critic posts under your join date & post count. You and other Cruise Critic members with the same instant messaging network would be able to click the logos appearing on Cruise Critic posts to contact each other via the network. But those days are loooong gone now that Invision Community software has been used by the Cruise Critic message board since October 2018. Hope this additional information (and little history lesson from Memory Lane 😀) will be helpful! Host Kat
  7. @ole goat Thank you for your new thread on the Ask a Cruise Question forum! 👍 However, it is the forum for general questions regarding cruising & your inquiry is about a specific cruise line's casinos so your thread is off topic there. To help you out I have moved your new thread to the Holland America Line forum where it will be on topic. You could also research the Cruise Casinos forum for a possible answer. Happy sails, Host Kat
  8. Howdy @floatz and welcome back to the Cruise Critic message boards! I see it has been a while since you have posted on the boards. Thank you for your new thread on the Ask a Cruise Question forum! 👍 However, it is the forum for general questions regarding cruising. Your inquiry is about a specific cruise line's suites and off topic there. To help you out I have moved your thread to the Carnival Cruise Lines forum where it will be on topic. The majority of your fellow Cruise Critic members that have sailed in Carnival suites frequent this forum and provide feedback here. Browse through the thread titles on this forum looking for threads of interest. You will probably find your fellow Cruise Critic members have already posted questions and received answers that will be of interest to you. I suggest you use the Follow feature on this thread or any other thread where you are interested in the replies. That way you will not have to go looking to see if there are replies on your Followed threads because they will all come looking for you as notifications! If you need more info on how to do it, please click the following: How to: Follow Topics & Forums (Subscribed Threads/Forums Info) Hope this will be helpful and so glad to have you back aboard Cruise Critic! Happy sails, Host Kat
  9. FYI to all, Please remember, since Cruise Critic does not review messages before they are posted and cannot read through the thousands of messages posted each day, Cruise Critic depends on you and all your fellow Cruise Critic members for help. From the Guidelines we all agreed to follow when registering for our free Cruise Critic memberships: "... Staff members and our volunteers are here to provide you with an environment that is free from advertising and soliciting, free from harassment, vulgarity and disparaging statements, as well as providing you with a safe haven brought together by those sharing a mutual interest: cruising! We encourage you to utilize the reporting system built into the board system; you'll find a Report a Post icon located in the upper right hand corner of the posting. Use it! We will review the report and take appropriate action..." See the following pinned thread on this forum for updated information: How To: Report a Post A User Reported Content list of all the reports is generated for review to all Hosts and Administrators. The list will automatically show the important information they MUST have such as the forum name, thread title or post in addition to your report. The volunteer Hosts or paid Administrators will review your Report post report when they can. I say "when they can" because all e-mails and Report post reports to Cruise Critic are answered in order of receipt. With almost two million members and e-mails or reports being sent 24/7 from all over the world, please be patient for any action. Also, please remember the Hosts are non-paid volunteers working the boards when their real life permits. Most Administrators work regular weekday business hours. If anyone has any questions/comments/feedback concerning the above information about the Report feature, please note the following from the Guidelines: "... If you have any questions or comments regarding our posting guidelines or any content found on our message boards please be sure and let me know. I'll be happy to discuss them with you.LauraSSenior Manager, Communitycommunity@cruisecritic.com ..." Please send your email with your questions/comments/feedback to LauraS, Senior Manager, Community at community@cruisecritic.com. Also, please send the email from your Cruise Critic email address of record and be sure to mention your Cruise Critic user name. This is so your membership can be verified, and reply sent to your Cruise Critic email address of record. If your current Cruise Critic email address of record is not correct and needs to be updated before you send your email, please see the following: How to: Change your Cruise Critic Email Address or User Name Hope this information will be helpful to anyone reading this now closed thread. Host Kat
  10. @SuzieeQ01 Your thread has been moved to the correct forum. Click here for the updated HAL info from Cruise Critic's Meet & Mingle page. Hope this will be helpful! 🤞 Happy sails, Host Kat
  11. @windsor26 Regarding Notifications from your Followed threads, first make sure you are logged in with your user name & password. Click your user name located upper right over the small Search bubble in the blue bar. Next, click Account Settings. Under Other Settings, click Notification Settings. On the next page to appear, click Mentions & My Content and Followed Content. Click the little down arrow to open each section and make sure each item is set for your preference. Also, click this link: Manage Followed Content You will see a list for Topics I Follow. To the right of each topic you can select change preference and make your choice OR you can completely unfollow the topic. You can also check the boxes next to each topic to make changes to multiple topic notification preferences at once If you use our Gallery Feature, make sure to look at the left of the page when you are viewing your managed content. There is a menu there to select the tabs for albums and images to choose how you receive notifications for items you follow there. If your email address of choice has changed, be sure to have your Cruise Critic email address of record changed too. That is where Cruise Critic emails are sent to you. Please see How to: Change your Cruise Critic Email Address or User Name. Please make sure you have the email address cruisecritic@invisioncloudcommunity.com white listed and/or on your safe senders list & in your Address Book contacts. Not sure how many email notifications you are receiving per day or at a time, but it could be your email provider is aggressive to prevent spam. Thinking that multiple emails in a row from Cruise Critic would be spam, they bounce one of the Cruise Critic emails back to Cruise Critic. Once one of the Cruise Critic notification emails to you is bounced back to Cruise Critic, then the Cruise Critic software stops sending you any further notification emails. Please email help@cruisecritic.com from your Cruise Critic email address of record and mention your user name. Explain the above possible bounce back situation and ask if the situation applies to your Cruise Critic account. IIRC, CC Help Michell can possibly investigate for the bounce back situation and possibly correct. Personally, I no longer use email for Cruise Critic notifications. I have all mine set to Notification List. I just click the Notifications Bell (to the left of my user name over the small Search bubble) to get the clickable list for all of mine. Hope something in this reply will be helpful! 🤞 Happy sails, Host Kat
  12. Howdy @kccrzr! CC Help Jenn is Following this thread. However, I am tagging @CC Help Michell since she has taken over Jenn's job duties. Hopefully she will be able to answer on this thread. 16. Howdy! In October 2018 the software was changed from vBulletin to Invision Community and has been tweaked often since then. Also, we moved to new servers in May 2019. Soooo, changes happen! 😀 I can only guess that it may be that when you decided to Follow a thread, you unchecked the "Let others see that I follow this" in the process. If so, perhaps the pinned thread titled How To: Change Email Settings/Unsubscribe: Notification Settings on this forum will be helpful. Otherwise... I can only suggest you contact CC Help Michell at help@cruisecritic.com from your Cruise Critic email address of record. 18. Howdy! The two threads started here on the TEST FORUM have been merged into this one thread. This is not the Roll Call thread. This forum is for members to test their signatures, avatars and posting photos, videos, etc. Now for the actual Roll Call thread, it is located on the Norwegian Epic Roll Calls forum. Click here June 22, 2023 to go directly to the Roll Call thread @jerseyjill started on July 30, 2022 for the cruise. That is where y'all need to be posting, not here. 25. Perhaps something in the following fairly recent thread will be helpful: Vertical (portrait) photos loading sideways If you are using an iPad, perhaps post #74 or others in the oldie but goodie iPad problems anyone? will help. Otherwise... I can only suggest you contact CC Help Michell at help@cruisecritic.com from your Cruise Critic email address of record. She has taken over CC Help Jenn's job duties. Be sure to include your user name, your type of device and browser information in your email. Good luck! 🍀
