  1. Bill and Mary Ann, We wish you the best cruise ever! Looking forward to reading your blog every morning with our coffee! And checking out Bill’s photos. Sad we didn’t get together before you left. We will have a great get together when you return home. Safe travels and Happy New Year, Denise and Howie, too
  2. We haven’t had much tule fog in a couple of years. This year it’s BACK! Safe travels.
  3. We also had one in November on the Zuiderdam South Pacific cruise. Hi Pete and Judy. Looking forward to your GWV blog. Cheers, Denise
  4. @oldbluffsafe travels on your long drive. The Bay Area right now is being pummeled by rain. Southwest flights are a disaster. Wishing every one the best of luck securing your flights. Denise
  5. Hubby wore his tropical shirts 3 out of our 6 gala nights. No issues at all. You will find folks dressed up or down.
  6. We had this type of medical evacuation on the Zuiderdam 45 day SouthPacific voyage this November. We were 5 hours flight time from San Diego. There were two helicopters and two airplanes for refueling. Praying whoever was evacuated is now okay.
  7. Interesting! Here is the thing with the Zuiderdam bars which I didn’t appreciate. Not every bar had every type of alcohol. I did have Hendricks and tonic several times at the beginning of the cruise and then switched to other drinks. It was at the Ocean Bar. Denise
  8. I got off the 45 day Zuiderdam on Thursday. The MDR dinners were absolutely delicious. We enjoyed every meal. Yes, they ran out of vodka, Baileys and peanuts two days before the cruise ended. Considering the fact there was a lot of rain and some missed ports, I imagine more drinking happened. 🤪 The rearrangement of ports was to add BoraBora!!! Was it the best cruise ever? No but that was due to the weather that no one can help. Before everyone says it’s the rainy season, we have done this cruise 4 times at the same time if the year. Never ran into these type of conditions. You make your own good time!
  9. From first hand experience, I can say that the transfer from the tender to the rescue longboat was handled calmly and efficiently by both HAL and the two gentlemen from the longboat. That being said, not something I would want to participate in again. Denise and Howie, too.
  10. We are getting turn down service on the Zuiderdam. It appears that many cabins have requested it. I agree with you, if people don’t ask for it service will be gone for good. On another note, HAL used to have several types of hot sauces and sambals. Now you are offered Tabasco or Sirachia. I bought my own sauces yesterday. It’s a little thing but a big one for me.
  11. Hey Barb, We were in there about 10 minutes. Just the two of us. Yes, we did spend the day with our niece. Had a great day. Miss you!!
  12. BON VOYAGE 🛳️☀️👏 we have friends on this cruise also. Enjoy every minute. Denise
  13. The change in itineraries explains why there were only shore excursions for one day in both Raiatea and Moorea. Now there are none to cancel and rearrange. We are also very happy for all those folks who have never been to BoraBora. We certainly enjoyed our afternoon catch up yesterday! Denise and Howie, too
  14. YAY!!!!! We are back online! Hopefully we will see you sometime today! DenIse and Howie, too
  15. Yes! Done cutbacks are sad. Tacky however is a good word for having them delivered. 😩
  16. South Pacific 2/27 thru 4/3. We were finally 4 star.
  17. We had a Mariner’s luncheon on the Zuiderdam in March 2022. Denise
  18. Welcome home. ❤️ Have a great day in the City. We can see the ship already in port. Our flight leaves Oakland at 12:15. Hoping we can see the ship from the air. We will wave. See you soon!! Denise and Howie, too
  19. We input all our info manually and the app worked like a dream. We are Ready To Sail! Good luck, Denise.
  20. We can’t wait to join you. We will wave as we fly over the Zuiderdam tomorrow in San Francisco as we fly to San Diego! Cheers, Denise and Howie, too
