  1. Hi Pete and Judy! Thanks for taking us along again on your grand adventures. Happy to have blogs to read every morning. Cheers, Denise and Howie, too
  2. We had Starlink on the Tales of the South Pacific this fall. It was our 5th time on this same cruise and the first time we have had connectivity every single day. It was almost as fast as home. We were able to receive and send videos instantly. I upgrade to premium so we could FaceTime with our grands. It was amazing to show them the Kings Palace when we were in Tonga. To let them follow along as we sailed the coast of Rarotonga. It was simply amazing.
  3. Regarding the new iPhone 15. They have increased the resolution from 12 MP to 24MP. That may be the problem with file size. As far as WIFI is concerned, does the ship have Starlink? Our 52 day South Pacific cruise on the Volendam had Starlink. I was shocked to have WIFI the entire cruise. It was like being at home. Including FaceTime with the grandkids no matter where we were. Denise I’m going to attempt to post a photo here from my iPhone 15 pro max.
  4. Our waiter recommended the barramundi and it was absolutely delicious. Same night, same dining room, same time. In our opinion the food and fish have been excellent on this year’s Tales cruise. Everyone has different tastes, likes and dislikes. Example, I won’t eat beets. 😝
  5. I’m on the Volendam right now. My photos are backing up to the cloud almost immediately.
  6. I’ll keep an eye out when the cabins are being cleaned. We are on the Dolphin Deck now. The shower is wonderful. Denise
  7. Bill!!!!!!! Those dolphin photos are epic!!!!!! So glad you saw them. We enjoyed watching them from Deck 8. Denise and Howie, too.
  8. Enjoy your cruise!!! I’ll be following along. We are booking the 9/15/24 cruise. Love the itinerary. Kodiak is small but lovely. We did a HAL excursion in Valdez. This was a 21 day cruise round trip San Francisco, our home port. Denise
  9. Since Bill and Mary Ann haven’t been there, I thought I’d answer. We did go to the suspension bridge. It was really fun. There are totems there and a wonderful walk on suspended platforms. We went on a Princess tour but the bus was out there waiting for passengers. Denise
  10. Hi You two! In 2019 we docked in Haines on the Maasdam. Are you sure you have to tender? It’s such a fun port. Hopefully the artisans are still there. We bought some beautiful shirts and fabulous earrings. see you soon, Denis and Howie, too
  11. Wonderful photos!! That one colorful cliffside was fabulous. Love all the mountain goats. Thanks for sharing. See you in 3 weeks!! Denise and Howie, too
  12. Salmon chowder and the Hake. No dessert tonight. This is fun and different!
  13. Glad Day One was a good one!! Food sounds promising. Hoping the chef stays on board for the Tales. Great photos!!! Enjoy every minute in Alaska. Happy cruising, Denise and Howie, too
  14. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼Got good news from friends onboard the Volendam. 1824 does have a remodeled bathroom with shower only!! Whew! It will be so much easier for DH to not have to climb into a bathtub. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
  15. BON VOYAGE!!! Have a wonderful time in Alaska. We will be waiting for you to arrive in San Diego. 🛳️ Denise and Howie, too
  16. Hi Lisa!! Thanks for doing a live. Love your threads. Still have the photo of us with the banner leaving San Diego in 2007. It was only my third HAL cruise. I’m now 10 points away from 5* and will mark 300 days at sea on our next cruise. Amazing how that happens!! Bon Voyage, Denise
  17. Absolutely unacceptable!! I’m sorry you had to hear this presentation. Denise
  18. The carpets on the Amsterdam always cracked me up. I still loved her though.
  19. On the Zuiderdam, Deck 7 aft facing has steel walls, Deck 4 aft facing does not. We used the ceiling for the magnets. Also the magnets hold around the balcony door frames. The only time I used the “tape that doesn’t damage walls” I messed up my wall at home. They are a no for me.
