  1. @PescadoAmarillo I am so, so sorry to hear you have COVID. Sad ending to a wonderful cruise. It was great following along with you once more. Because of you 🥰 we are still in love with our South Pacific cruises. We switched over to HAL because they go to so many more islands and for 50 days. October 2 we embark on our 5th SP cruise since 2016. Take care! Get better so you can be with your Mom. Denise
  2. #6 would be the 28 day Alaska cruise in 2024. We are booked on the Tales of the South Pacific for the 4th time. Love all the islands. They all have their own unique qualities. Our 2022 cruise ran into some nasty weather the second half of the cruise. Praying it will be better this time around. Round trip San Diego is also a huge draw for us. We live in Northern California so it’s a quick flight. We still spend time in SD before the cruise. I wouldn’t say no to any of the other itineraries either. But as we are getting older and hubby has mobility issues, they just aren’t feasible. Happy cruising, Denise
  3. My heart is breaking. 😢😢😢 Praying for all those on the island. This is tragic.
  4. Ugh! Well I guess we will find out in 8 weeks! I’m sure hoping that is not the case. We have had this cabin several times on the Amsterdam and Maasdam. Love the location and it was a shower only cabin.
  5. I emailed my info on 7/5. Received a confirmation email on 7/6. The letter states the OBC will be added at embarkation. Happy cruising!
  6. We picked our own cabin on the Volendam because we like the Dolphin deck OV. Love looking out the window and being so close to the water. We have had the exact same cabin on both the Amsterdam and Maasdam. More importantly we did not want to be on Deck 3 looking out on the promenade deck. Those cabins are higher category than our Dolphin Deck but is wasn’t worth leaving it to chance. 51 days is too long to not have the location you want. Denise
  7. Hi you two!!! We are going to the South Pacific once more in October. Come with us! No aft balcony this time though. Hope all is well in your neck of the woods, Denise and Howie, too
  8. Of course you neglected to mention that the cruise line took care of all or the arrangements and expenses to get them back to the ship. On a South American cruise I was on a plane coming back from Cusco to Lima had a bird strike on takeoff, Slid off the runway. Closed Cusco airport. No one was injured. My sister was on that cruise. Princess also treated them like royalty when they finally got back to the ship.
  9. Great!!!!! Thanks so much! Denise
  10. If the Shore Excursion is over $100 are you able to pay the difference or must you choose one under $100? Thanks for any help! Denise
  11. Hi you two! As you know we have been enjoying your blog every morning! You will be pleased to know by the time you get home we will finally start having some springtime temps. It is still in the 40’s in the morning and not rising past 65 during the day. The sun peeks through occasionally. We have had rain twice this week. Can’t wait to see you both. Thanks for the morning reads, Denise and Howie, too

  17. Exactly! We were on the 21 day Maasdam Alaskan cruise in 2019. We are NOT Lido people but that cruise we ate every meal in the Lido. The scenery was so incredible and I could get outside quickly to take photos. Cheers, Denise
