  1. Same here. Except not my parents. Me.
  2. I agree with this. Glacier Bay is amazing, not to be missed. Also Princess has some incredible lodges. Highly recommended if you can add some land time to your trip. Princess does other things like having a naturalist onboard, and bringing National Park Rangers onboard. Definitely go with Princess to Alaska.
  3. Definitely true. They are quickly receding.
  4. I know this is the RC forum, but you really should go on Princess if you are doing Alaska. They have their own lodges, and the train ride is simply amazing. Princess goes to Glacier Bay National Park. RC does not. Princess is really known for Alaska. In general, you should most definitely do an Alaskan cruise. It's a truly unbelievable experience. I don't know anyone that went on one that regretted it.
  5. I thought you might have actual data from the cruise line.
  6. Note that they are not banning smoking in the casino. Only smoking at table games (not slot machines).
  7. I have no idea. I was just pointing it out for those that cared.
  8. Connecting rooms have the potential to be more noisy than non-connecting rooms.
  9. Can you post links to any of the videos, so we can see what you are talking about?
  10. Can you post some pictures, or links to the videos?
  11. When the agent said that he needs an audio recording of the original call, did you tell him to go find the recording? I would think they record all calls.
  12. I suspect they would convert MDR space into more pay venues, as allyfree also suggested.
  13. This is pretty much what I'm hearing...it seems to be a mixed bag. Some beaches are perfectly nice, others are pretty bad.
  14. Interesting theory. That would imply that the food for both seatings is cooked at the same time, before the first seating. I would hope not.
  15. I agree with this is well. I feel that there is a slow push to get more and more people to pay for the upcharge restaurants at the expense of the MDR, with the goal being to phase out the MDR-type experience (i.e., full service at no extra charge) entirely.
  16. I wouldn't count on RCCI acting on (or even reading) Cruise Critic. They are sailing with full ships so they really have little or no incentive to improve the product (although it would most definitely be nice if they did).
  17. I always do something off the ship. I cruise for the ports, not the ship.
