  1. Tryng to stay on top of all this, am I reading correctly that SS once again have the dedicated butler removed after saying they are bringing them back?
  2. We generally fly from YVR around noon. We collect our bags in the terminal and catch a taxi, usually arrive at the airport by 9ish We did Uber once, won’t do it again, flat rate taxi in the terminal was easy and convenient.
  3. I would chose an OV guarantee over an inside especially with so many sea days. I prefer some view vs no view! Once assigned and based on availability you can always ask to have your cabin switched within the same category. Have you sailed in an inside before? If you have and don’t mind the lack of natural light, 8214 should be quiet.
  4. We have friends disembarking after what looks like an amazing Antarctica trip. Funny, when she told me they were on Eclipse, I automatically thought Celebrity since Eclipse is in the same region. I look forward to reading about your adventure and am happy you’re taking us all along.
  5. What an awful experience. Use the QR code in the daily to comment and ask for the hotel director to contact you. Are you a Captains Club member? Go to the host onboard and ask them to have the HD contact you. You are very generous not asking for compensation, heck people want OBC if their cabin curtains are torn or the AC goes out! If nothing else the clothing should be laundered and perhaps some OBC for the trauma and time that you have spent dealing with this. I hope they aren't charging you for the the medical.
  6. Exactly! We were in a SS on Eclipse, we didn't meet the head butler, but the assistant housekeeping manager stopped by a few times. Any requests to him were passed on the stateroom attendant/host. Felt bad for him, he was just back from vacation and getting into the swing of things.
  7. My error. Tuggers was Gail. Bermuda got me thinking about her!
  8. Lois who previously went by another screen name? You were mentioned recently by a couple of us who wondered what happened to you. We met on Horizon going to Bermuda and several cruises after.
  9. All of us W Coast folks want Pacific coastal or Mexican Riviera cruises and when they have them they don't seem to sell well. In my experience lots of availability less than 60 days out.
  10. Our first cruise was on Horizon. A few years later we were lucky enough to cruise to Bermuda (her last summer) in one of the balcony cabins they added. Loved the Martini bar, back before martinis were popular!
  11. We have done 2 independent excursions with Nativeway watersports in GC. Both times a great experience and back to the dock in plenty of time.
  12. Our experience with overnights (4 with a similar itinerary to yours) is the tenders do run 24/7 less frequently overnight. You may have a 30-45 min wait.
  13. I have no idea! I hope someone knows more than we do.
  14. We cruised with Gail a couple of times including Horizon last summer in Bermuda. I think of her occasionally, she seemed to be one of the original Live posters.
  15. it appears to be cabins across from 10143? But maybe those occupants would be door slammers 😆 Our current cabin is more midship than 10121 or 23. I’m sure any cabin will be great, so familiar with M and S class, this is like picking a cabin on a first cruise! S1 is my only option, it was a guarantee and that’s what we were assigned. But I love those after corner on S class ships!
  16. No. Eclipse still has Michaels club as the retreat lounge. No sundeck.
  17. Our first cruise on Edge is coming up later this year! We are currently in 10143, this was a random choice 😆 Are any of the other available ones better in any way? Thanks
  18. What Ship? It depends on the ship and restaurant manager! Last year on Eclipse we were told no, but previously we had been allowed to, the only difference was the restaurant manager.
  19. With the guarantee you will get the Suite Perks and extra points. If you don’t like the cabin assigned and there are others available in the same category, you can change. With Move up the ability to change cabins is hit or miss! We recently upgraded from a sunset veranda to guarantee suite on Edge for our May cruise and have been assigned an S1,
  20. We do land vacations in Hawaii most years and also love the sea days on a Hawaii itinerary. A cruise, especially this itinerary doesn't really IMO really give you the Hawaii experience. If you can spend time after and go to Maui or Kauai, then yes. The whole Na Pali coast full day is a bit odd. I doubt the ship will be close enough for you to see anything and geographically doesn't make sense unless they are just trying fill in the day.
  21. Wouldn’t it be nice to bring more wine, I’d even be willing to pay corkage. $25 is reasonable compared to some restaurants that don’t even use quality stemware. Cheers
  22. If she’s not, Captain Leo is great.
