  1. Just a word for @ReneeFLL Re. solarium 18+... don't do it... don't engage... abandon all hope if you get sucked down into that vortex of contention. LOL 🤣
  2. Congrats on the weight loss Greg @Sea Dog. I'm on the same journey but I started further behind and still have a long ways to go. I was 296# when I boarded Navigator of the Seas Jan 30 of this year. I weighed 254# this morning. Except for one week in March (Oasis of the Seas w/ UDP) It's been slow but steady progress. I'm 6'2" so I can handle a little bit more weight but my goal is 230#
  3. I've got a quick question and don't want to bother starting a new thread over it. On my Adventure of the Seas cruise coming up in Feb., it is my birthday while I am onboard. Should I let Royal know in advance and do I get any little extra thing on my birthday. 🎂
  4. https://www.freightwaves.com/news/west-coast-dockworkers-making-200k-demand-higher-pay#:~:text=How ILWU earnings are calculated, that steep for skilled labor.
  5. Thanks for this referral. I just went and booked them. I haven't had much success over the years with shared shuttle services. Hopefully this one is different.
  6. Full-time registered longshore workers earned an average of $197,514 in 2022, not including benefits. Benefits include... full insurance coverage, a 401(k) and a pension with a maximum yearly retirement benefit of $95,460. Benefits are valued at $100,534 they don't need my $2 a bag. I'll save my tip money for workers on the ship. 🙂
  7. You have to get the RP not the Soda package for the non-drinker.
  8. I'm hoping all goes well with the surgery Greg. With all you have going on you have to be organized. A mild case of OCD might even be helpful.
  9. I just thought I would post this to all you weather complainers... 🙂 My next two weeks look pretty rough. Hopefully I'll survive. 🙂
  10. Mine updated in about a week. You should be fine.
  11. I'm on Harmony B2B in December and considered Royalup but the first week we're with family in 3 different OV balcony cabins so moving up one cabin seemed a bit of a waste since we obviously want to spend time with family and wouldn't be able to take full advantage of the suite benefits. Week 2 we're in a different cabin by ourselves in CP balcony and the best royalup we were offered is a JR Suite. that didn't seem like it was worth it since all we'd get is embarkation and CK for a few dinners.
  12. Some of the best conversations and most interesting people I have met on a cruise has been while seated at the bar alone.
  13. We had it on Odyssey and loved it Unlike on other ships the English Pub has a bit of food as well. Chicken wings, Poutine and Nachos among other things, if I remember right. We had lunch there at least twice if I think.
  14. It is functioning as normal for me...
  15. Thank you. As an expat days like today always make me a little nostalgic and miss home. I'm going to find a place to make me a turkey dinner tonight. DW is away for a few days so I'm flying solo. 🇨🇦 Hockey season starts tomorrow. Canucks first game is Wednesday. Watching keeps me connected to home. It's depressing because it's been over a decade since we had any prospect for success but it's still home in my heart.
  16. This isn't new as far as I can tell. When we were there in March there was no internet. I remember specifically thinking I wanted to text my wife while she was on a kayak excursion to let her know I was leaving our cabana and going to eat lunch. I don't think there has ever been private excursions either. .
  17. The whole thing doesn't make any sense at all.
