  1. Quick question for @bobmacliberty While searching old threads I saw you asking about cabin 13190 on Quantum. I'm considering that one. I was just wondering if you sailed in that cabin and what you thought of the obstruction?
  2. This is essentially what we had on Adventure last week. We had 6:45 MTD pre-booked everyday. The headwaiter set us up at the same table and we could walk strait into the MDR without waiting in the "reservations line" at the entrance. It was perfect for us. 5:00 is too early and 8:00 is too late.
  3. I love it... I think it is the best slide on any Royal ship. I don't think it is particularly scary but I'm pretty adventurous so I'm not sure about you. If you've ok zip lining this should be fine too.
  4. Welcome to Cruise Critic, thank you for digging up this valuable, over one year old, thread. Royal Caribbean will certainly be sorry to see you go 🙂
  5. Yeah, I'm pretty disappointed with these LA itineraries on Quantum... Cabo and Ensenada. I don't even get off the ship anymore in Ensenada. I was hoping for a some California coastal cruises or a Hawaii or just anything but what they offered. I feel like the kid who just opened all his presents on Christmas morning and all he got was clothes! 😞
  6. Yes it is, it is our first JS. We are usually OVB people but got this on a low Royal Up bid... We've had a couple of OV Panoramic suites before and CLS. This is a nice room. It doesn't come with all the suite perks but is still a nice little upgrade all things considered.
  7. We got back Saturday night and I have been going nonstop since. This is, really, my first opportunity to post. Here is a little cabin tour video I took while on Adventure. I know a couple express concerns about the potential obstruction I would have being on the 6th deck but it wasn't terrible. It was really peaceful back there and DW spent quite a bit of time on our deck quietly reading. I'd happily have the cabin again for the right price.
  8. I'd book a suite... That's what I did for our 30th. It made everything a little more memorable.
  9. It's not near as fast as. you might think. I will do it a few time over the course of a cruise. Kids will do it a lot more. Same thing for the zip line. I'll do it a time or two and then that's it.
  10. The wind is blowing today Sorry to the android users, I don’t know how to convert this to a format you can see. Waves.mov
  11. As far as MSC goes… we are one and done with them. I think if I regularly sailed suites I’d be more inclined to give them a second chance. I keep hearing that yacht club is an amazing experience that vastly exceeds Royals suite experience. Our first experience was very substandard. We know what we get with Royal and we’re comfortable with that. Generally we’re in a balcony with the odd suite thrown in. I might try them again somewhere down the road just for the yacht club experience to give it a comparison but like @Sea Dog said likely will be after I hit diamond plus.
  12. Once I I decided to get insurance the annual plan was the only thing that made sense to me. It doesn’t to take more than two cruises a year to make it make good value. .
  13. I’m tempted just so I can sail with the great @Sea Dog but that week doesn’t really work for me as well as we have that exact one booked in Dec. I need to book August or September to fit it in the calendar.
  14. I am 57 DW is 62 and we paid $485 per year. That’s total for both of us on the premier plan. EDIT
  15. We got the annual plan from Allianz this last Dec. I’ve been self insuring for years. It’s only a matter time before I get burned.
  16. Just got back from Paradise Beach on St. Croix. This is my first time at St. Croix. So I didn’t understand that St. Croix’s Paradise Beach is just a public beach. I booked an excursion through Royal Caribbean to Paradise Beach. I’m not sure why I expected this, but I expected some sort of exclusive experience. This was just public beach and they gave you a lounge chair. It was chaos all around me. They sold the chairs on the beach to anyone who showed up for $30. So of course, two families of four showed up asked about the chairs. They sold them one chair for $30 of which of them possessed all around me. They set up blankets and towels and toys and every imaginable thing and I was surrounded. It was absolute chaos. When I’m having a beach experience, I guess I like a certain degree exclusivity. It was a very disappointing experience. Thankfully I went to guest services immediately after getting on board explained why I left after 30 minutes, and they credited me. I headed up to the pool bar, got a drink, found a nice recliner up on deck 12, and life return to being good again.
  17. No just into town for drinks and shopping. I had an excursion booked, but they canceled it on me for some unknown reason. Instead of just booking something last minute I thought I would just head into town today. Surprisingly, I met a couple of acquaintances that I hadn’t seen in years who are from Little Rock. They were on a celebrity cruise. I’ve got a beach day scheduled tomorrow.
