  1. No damage done by Ian or Fiona. Neither of them were close enough to the Bahamas to do any damage.
  2. I agree with your logic. After a disaster of this size insurance adjusters are not going to get to every home and they don't expect everyone to be sitting at their home to meet with them. I would file the claim and make sure I had phone and email access to stay in touch while onboard the ship. There really isn't much that can be done sitting at home. From the sounds of the damage, she probably has to find temporary housing anyway. Getting pampered on a ship sounds much better than sitting in a hotel or at a friends house waiting for a call from an ins. rep and contractor(s). I know from experience with SuperStorm Sandy when it hit our home on the island of LBI NJ, it took while over 30-days before an insurance person came to see our house that was a full gut inside and out. The home stunk with couple feet of sand inside and dead fish, mold growing everywhere, looting of people's copper pipes, etc. was happening until the National Guard stepped in to control who visited the island. It tooks weeks for the insurance people to even get back to me with their assessment of the damage. Then weeks before a contractor could even look at the home. The entire process was about 9 to 10 months before the house was repaired and I was one of the lucky ones. Some fought with insurance companies for over a year. If she wants to stay home and cancel the cruise in its entirety her TA that booked the cruise will be the only person Royal will speak with at this stage. The other option is for her to email mbayley@rccl.com and explain her situation. Royal is usually compassionate towards people involved in these types of storms. Whatever she decides I wish her the best with her home and thankful to hear she is okay.
  3. I have had the same thoughts but reminding myself that storms like this don't happen all the time and the safest place to be is on a cruise ship since they know how to detour and avoid. And a bonus couple extra days at sea sound great to me should something happen😃
  4. Good Morning Ellen, Thankful to hear you are okay🥰 Your husband was definitely watching you. That's good to hear a friend is with you. Sorry to hear about her home.
  5. @Luckynanasorry I didn't get to say Bon Voyage yesterday. I hope you have a wonderful sailing with smooth seas and warm sunny skies with no worries🥰
  6. Your review is awesome. Excellent photos and love your writing style🥰 I'm guessing your best meal onboard was at CP150 (other than the seating) it looked amazing. Also, very happy you weren't impacted by any of these storms. Thank you for sharing your vacation with us🤩 Any video of the pups and your kitty welcoming you both home would be fun to see too!
  7. When you are within 30 days or less of your sail date you can email rcldining@rccl.com Provide your booking/reservation, names, ship name and sail date and request a table for 2. Maybe ask for a window seat, if you like. Then once onboard go to the main dining room to confirm table location.
  8. Enchantment is heading back to Baltimore from a NE/Canada sailing and off to Bermuda tomorrow so they should be fine.
  9. As of right now royal has not brought back luggage valet. As soon as the ship docks you should be able to connect to wifi via your phone or tablet and can do your airport check in online. Or If diamond or higher the concierge in the lounge could probably help you. Guest services may or may not help, I'm not sure as I have never asked. Or as said above do it at the airport as you should have plenty of time.
  10. Sorry for my misunderstanding. I get home from work and try my best to catch up with everything, not easy with everything that's going on. I think Ellen said her power was out maybe she hasn't been able to get online. Hopefully she is okay as I recall her photos this morning showing the flooding in her backyard.
  11. So sorry to hear about your friend losing her home but glad to hear she is okay. It is going to take people a very long time to recover from this disaster. It took people at LBI and surrounding areas several years to be back to "normal".
  12. Please do not take my comment in a wrong way at all. I was simply referring to the guy as he has a a huge mansion probably worth $20 million and several expensive cars in his garage is why I personally do not feel sorry for him. I feel sorry for the car There are far too many people that are devastated that do not have that guy's money. Happy to hear you and your family are safe and sound🥰
  13. Cool, I have never heard of this balloon. I had read that t-mobile had set up cells on wheels to assist Puerto Rico.
  14. He was apparently home and took the video of the car being swept away. The car was sitting in the garage next to his rolls royce which was flooded but still there. I saw at least one other car but wasn't too clear what type of car. Probably whoever finds that car after water recedes will have some fun😁
  15. Yes, I saw video or photos this morning of the causeway to Sanibel and Captiva missing large sections. Good to hear your family members are okay, possessions can be replaced. I just heard on one of the news channels that cell service is tough right now, at least 100 towers are down in Southeast FL.
  16. from what I heard from my girlfriend that lives outside of Clearwater that Port Richey did okay, she was not aware of any flooding issues there but you never know as sometimes it can be just a couple of blocks that get flooded. Hopefully Crystal and Nate are just fine and simply have no internet. 🤞
  17. My Boss owns a couple million $ home in Cape Coral that he had built in 2017 on a canal. His neighbor told him that most of the newer homes on the street are okay - some tiles missing from roof and the pool lanai needs some repairs but no flooding where some of the older homes down the street were flooded and now have several feet of mud/sand, etc. in them. I remember what that is like when Sandy hit our home in LBI and we had sand and dead fish in our house that stunk something awful after we were finally allowed to visit the island.
  18. Gilligan's Island was the first one that popped into my head too! I watched that after school all the time. Seinfeld and Friends are at the top of my list. There are so many shows I have truly enjoyed and love watching re-runs its hard to narrow done to just one
