Grace from Serenade...last time onboard she worked at Giovanni's and her husband Diego worked at Chops. I would love to know if they are still working on Serenade. -
Getting Around on Anthem with travel scooter
Sunshine3601 replied to fair-winds39's topic in Royal Caribbean International
You will have no trouble with a scooter on Anthem. If using your own scooter you will enter thru gang plank. No separate area like Grandeur that I know of. Waiting for elevators is a challenge on any ship. If you are sailing off season, non holiday and ship is not packed with kids you should be fine. Have a great cruise😀 -
Part of the problem is the sailing dates on the current certificates have been the same for a while. We had this same issue earlier this year and found no resolution. We were told we could book a spacious balcony but still get the suite perks and the freeplay. We booked it but ended up cancelling it. Time for them to update the sailing list.

Annual Chowderfest @LBI has been postponed until October 16th due to weather. We might actually go this year. Our tenants that rented our house for September are due to leave tomorrow. Then we go to do a deep clean of everything, put patio furniture away for winter, etc. I think we are going to do a couple long weekends in October. Instead of taking off a week from work.

COVID rules now
Sunshine3601 replied to Royally Ready to cruise's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Based on the fact you had covid earlier this summer and used a recovery letter to board your August sailing chances of you contracting covid now are very slim. As long as everyone in your family feels fine go enjoy your cruise😀 -
I am not aware of any cruises that spend more than 1 day at CocoCay. There have some rare cases where the ship docked there more than once when some ships were denied entry to other islands due to amount of covid cases onboard. I could be wrong and maybe you will find one.

We had a very strange visit with Eric's Mother today. Our Son came to with his Fiance Donna to let us know due to drama with her family they have decided they are going to have a simple wedding by the Justice of Peace and the courthouse and set the date of November 15th. We will all then out to dinner. Restaurant to be determined. Chris wanted to let his Grandmother know so we drove over to her house, after calling to say we would be over. She hasn't seen Chris since July or August. She simply says Hi, come in. Never hugs or kisses anyone. We follow her to the family room where she has the TV blaring. I turn off the TV so we could all chat and visit. She is upset I did this. Chris proceeds to tell her and first words out of her mouth are, " is she pregnant" they have been engaged for just about 2 yrs. She then grabs the remote and puts her TV back on, blaring. Now at this point, Eric is fuming. He shuts off the TV and says wouldn't you like to visit with your family. She says, "Why. It doesn't matter I will be dead soon." She has been saying this her whole life!! poor Donna not knowing how to react gets up and leaves the room. We all left with her sitting in her chair watching Alfred Hithcock. Ugghhh! Never understood this woman and never want to. She has been cold blooded, nasty to everyone her whole life. So sad the children don't have a loving grandmother. Thank you for letting me vent. Time for a cocktail, maybe some Kraken.

Also want to fill out the form for specialneeds https://www.royalcaribbean.com/resources/guest-special-needs Let them who you rented from, etc. Ask for a dining table towards front of MDR so you don't have to zig zag scooter thru the tables.

Yes, we had rented a scooter from specialneedsatsea.com for $235 for 7 day cruise out of Bayonne on 8.28 Price is much better than scootaround and the service was terrific. They will leave the scooter in your cabin. If you need wheelchair assistance to get into the terminal ask one of the port workers at front door. Then once inside the terminal and through security go to your far left and they can transfer you to a royal caribbean chair that a crew member will push for you to board the ship. Rooms are ready around 1 pm so if you check in around 1 or after they can take you to your cabin on the wheelchair. If you check in early, we did 11 am and went to lunch. Then at 1 pm I went to cabin and rode the scooter to where my hubby was waiting. When cruise was over we met with wheelchair assistance group, make reservation with guest services for your departure time. And we left the scooter on the promenade deck with other scooters. Worked great!

You can call to book excursions. I think they have an option to press for excursions. -
Safety of cell phone by pool
Sunshine3601 replied to kibutzer's topic in Royal Caribbean International
I carry a small backpack with sunscreen, cell phone, brush, book and glasses to the pool. Never had a problem. I wouldn't recommend just leaving a phone sit on lounger out in the open. Getting a glass of ice water is easy, waiters can bring to you or get yourself at any bar, no problem.
