  1. I've followed missing person situations on cruises for years because they are always interesting to me and I love to cruise. I usually defend them because they are mostly suicides and cruise ships are statistically safe. HOWEVER, this one is very weird. Like very very weird. He was last seen (kind of) at 3 am with key card swipe into his room and didn't show up for breakfast a few hours later? Had an inside room? No overboard censor went off. Just weird all around. The Miami Dade police statement said this individual "could be in need of services"?? What does that even mean? I also usually defend Carnival but I feel they should have delayed the cruise from leaving until detectives could have thoroughly searched the ship and sent out an email to the thousands of "witnesses" asking if they saw anything suspicious. This one will be interesting to follow. I'm hoping he willingly is hiding. Maybe starting a new life or something. Stressful times.
  2. They do now actually. Last month I saw them for $599 on their website. I just checked now and they are indeed $999 like Carnival. I would pay $500 without air. Those were some of the best days Ive ever had in my life but still can’t justify an extra $1000 for 8 hrs of the cruise. Sucks.
  3. EXACTLY. And while I feel very bad for people who commit suicide its awful to "ruin" thousands of peoples vacations. The ship has to stop and turn around and look. Its obviously traumatizing to have had someone kill themselves. Explaining to children? I'm afraid its becoming a trend to do it this way. Sad.
  4. I'm a nurse and would say the only hesitation would be if the vest were to go off the care afterward would be difficult. They can run a full code but to have the anti arrhythmics onboard that they would need is not probable. However, with that said. I live in a way that says to go for it. Life is too short not to cruise. Make sure he stays up on his electrolytes. Don't get dehydrated! Eat enough potassium and magnesium. 😁
  5. So many. Our team lead waiter making jumping origami frogs from the children's menus for my 7 and 9 yr old boys was one. It took him a while and he made two. The boys saved those forever. My 5 year old son winning a dance competition was another. He LOVED his medal the whole trip. Winning the ship on a stick for best dancing family. Any sea day by the pool with steel drum music playing. Great question.
  6. I'm not sure I would go the cheapest option for the first cruise. Maybe try a little newer ship with a little nicer ports even though they are more expensive (for obvious reasons).
  7. Ouch, you learned the hard way to never book a room below a specialty deck. I always book below a passenger deck. I was fortunate to research before and learn from here!
  8. Not if you compare receipts. 😂😂 Carnival is a great cruise but you always get what you pay for. Usually Celebrity is twice as expensive. (USUALLY)
  9. I have a funny update to this post. I have a lot of extra time at work so I check the Villas daily to see availability. Three times so far they have been "sold out" only to be available again the next day ("2 remaining"). I'm wondering if they mark them as sold out to create a little urgency for the booking. LOL...maybe not, but I find it weird.
  10. The casino has windows?? Thats super odd. I never would step foot in there though. Im talking the deck 4 walk around outside and floor to ceiling windows on the promenade type things. Its all good. The smaller ships are my jam.
  11. tragic. I'm there for the ocean. But to each his own.
  12. I loved them before covid! Everything seems to have changed since then so not sure if they are the same.
  13. Those look terrible. lol...it will help with my diet at least.
  14. We are on this cruise too!! I'm staying positive. I think it will be fine. Rescheduling would be a huge deal I would think. I think they are fixing the propulsion issues.
  15. But inside neighborhoods? Royal's look like a huge mall. I love the sight of the ocean around every turn. They put so many balcony cabins on the ships now there is limited ocean view public areas.
  16. I'm a nurse and cruise often. This is a good question and I've thought about it for a long time. haha! But I would guarantee they would transfer your wife off if she went into Afib and became unstable. They wouldn't want to cardiovert due to the risk of throwing a clot. Are they capable? Yes. Would they? Probably not unless her BP was low. They can run full codes, intubate and do small operations. lol. They are definitely "capable". Whether or not they have Amiodarone or Cardizem type meds for after a cardioversion is a mystery.
  17. Yes you can check right on their website! haha...they actually own the island I believe.
  18. Holland has the VILLAS for $699. The Cabana at Carnival is $699 no butler option, Villa 999 no butler. Just to clarify double annoying!! We still have them available for ours in Feb. Both types. The Private Oasis was booked right away.
  19. So many people. I like when the ships keep it around 3-4000. This ship looks packed. The size increase looks like cabins and not open space.
  20. Yes agree. They are not sold out yet. Cabanas have over 10. Villas still at 2 left.
  21. I agree no complaints. Especially when I just ventured over to Royal to price out a Feb 2025 cruise. $5800 for 4 people. 😳😳😳
  22. Yeah they wouldn't waive the fee for us (platinum cruisers) this time. Had to eat the $200 deposit. ($50pp)
  23. Agree completely. Most of my Villa rentals in the past were $499 then it jumped to $699 now $999. Just seems exorbitant amount. (still available by the way...😁) Everyone has their own opinion.
