  1. We're not impressed by these reds. I'm not much of a wine buff, but these don't do it for me. Photographing the whites is proving more difficult, because they are on ice!
  2. And, the Complimentary Red wines... On previous cruises I don't recall that the Complimentary wines were 'Azamara own-label', but again I may be mis-remembering.
  3. On Pursuit, this is what we found in our Club Continental suite on embarkation (Copenhagen, 25 August 2022). 200ml Dewars blended Whisky; 375ml vodka; 375ml Bacardi Gold; 200ml Bombay Sapphire Gin. I may be imagining things but I think I recall that the Gin was formerly provided in bottles containing more Gin!
  4. Are you viewing the list of embarkation ports in a mobile (cellphone) browser? If you are, I suggest that you try looking at it from a desktop computer. Notice any difference? It seems to me that the cell/mobile version is listing whether your vaccinations have to of a type approved by the CDC, rather than whether testing is required! This was changed a while back to 'Testing', but seems to have reverted to 'CDC Vaccination approval', which - obviously - is very different. Please note: I do not currently have access to a desktop computer.
  5. Did I sleep for a year? I could have sworn it was August 2022 when I went to bed last night. Crikey: will my hotel bill be for 5 nights plus 1 year?
  6. I am puzzled. Why you would ask this question?
  7. Wait and see? You TA may be a) busy or b) busy or c) trying to sort this out and will not respond until he/she has resolved this. Either way, I feel you may be being premature. Presumably you have nothing in writing, nor did you record the calls?

Duly noted and I've done this many times in the past!

Unfortunately the maps can be of variable quality. Occasionally they are not really of much use!
  10. I see it now, on Dec 22. There is a roll call for this cruise! We stayed on board for one AzAmazing Evening a few years ago. Apart from the ship being almost completely empty, as I recall (but only from memory, and not with certainty) we were able to dine at Prime C. The meals are structured so that people may dine before. When people return, Windows is open, but I don't think that the Main Dining Room is! Again this is all from memory g others may know with a greater degree of certainty.
  11. As far ax I know on port days all restaurants are open for dinner as usual. Excursions do not usually clash. But... you have included in the title of your post the word 'Azamazing'. Is the Azamazing evening scheduled to be off the ship? Currently Azamazing evenings are held on board!
  12. Is this based on experience? Ravenna is a fairly large city (pop. 160,000) and a popular tourist destination. I would be surprised if getting a taxi at the station would be a problem. In fact if you look at the satellite view of the station in Google Maps and look very carefully you will see at least three taxis!
  13. Actually, using the Trenitalia app, you CAN book and pay for your tickets should you wish! Trains from Bologna Centrale to Ravenna are frequent (roughly every hour or less), take about an hour and cost about €8 pp.
  14. Not allowed to identify TA's here. Choose carefully, some are very, very good, but others are terrible. I would suggest you go for a cruise specialist not a main-street, or mainstream general TA.
  15. As a resident, with several years of experience, I would disagree with you. Many people rely on trains here and I have found that, in fact, regional trains are more reliable than the intercity 'freccie' trains. Nevertheless, I agree, in a situation such as this, it is prudent to allow for problems.
  16. As an Italian resident I can tell you that things here are pretty much back to normal. Although October is just off-season, people here are making-up for lost time, but I think that the crowds are likely to be pretty much as normal. Italian trains are, generally-speaking, efficient and reliable. I advise booking through the Trenitalia app - if you register you may qualify for discounts, too! As for your specific destinations, and the ferry to which you refer, I am unable to provide insight. But instead of Cinque Terre, why not go to Pisa, or, even better, to Lucca, both if which are much more accessible than Cinque Terre. It also depends on which day of the week you intend to travel. Italian towns are much less lively on Mondays. I have been to La Spezia, but It was over twenty years ago. From what I recall, being a Naval port, it is pretty 'gritty'. Don't expect the locals to speak much English! If you forge your own way, be prepared with phrases etc. As to whether a do-it-yourself vs an Azamara excursion will be best for you, it very much depends on how intrepid and resourceful you are, and how much research you are prepared to do in advance. You alone can be the judge.
  17. Oops! I think you mean silly predictive text!
  18. I don't understand this comment. Am I being dense? Please explain!

    https://www.whatsinport.com/ is a great resource.
  20. Don't rely on this. Schiphol airport's web site says: The following airlines offer self-service baggage drop-off at Schiphol: Aero Mexico, American Airlines, Austrian, Cathay Pacific, Corendon, Finnair, IcelandAir, KLM, LOT, Lufthansa, SAS, Swiss, TAP, Transavia & TUI. You can find the self-service baggage drop-off kiosks in the following departure halls: Departure 1: Austrian, Finnair, IcelandAir, KLM, LOT, Lufthansa, SAS, Swiss, TAP & Transavia Departure 2: KLM Departure 3: Aero Mexico, American Airlines, Cathay Pacific, Corendon & TUI Are you flying with another airline? Or is online check-in not an option for you? Then you can of course go to the check-in desk of your airline to check in and drop off your baggage. At the check-in desk a representative will tag and process your bag for you.
  21. Here's what the UK's health service Web site says about the Yellow Fever vaccine (I don't read this as a definite not recommended). I will be guided by the recommendations of the expert who will administer (or not) the vaccine. They are very thorough! Side effects following yellow fever vaccine are usually mild and can consist of fever, headache, nausea, joint and muscle pain. Serious complications are rare and have an increased incidence in those: over 60 years of age who are immunosuppressed with a thymus disorder or have had their thymus removed (for any reason) who have a first degree relative who has had a serious complication to the vaccine
  22. For the Azamara cruise that we went on which included at least two stops in India there were no such processes! But, we had arranged our own evisas!
