Did you have an epidural / spinal?
No, it was a general anesthesic.

I’m just catching up- I had a laparoscopic hernia repair on Friday, and I was more affected than I thought I would be. Actually, my stomach was entirely above the diaphragm, so hopefully it’s all back together in the appropriate anatomical arrangement!
Probably the worst part of this is the daily headaches that happen just after midnight and persist until coffee and acetaminophen. It happened before as well, so if I ever have surgery again, I’ll mention it to the anesthesiologist.
@SteelCityCruiser10 my condolences on losing your very handsome and good boy.
We still have my son’s enormous German Shepherd, who doesn’t really understand why I suddenly won’t play with him, but he’s a good boy who doesn’t jump. My son picks him up tomorrow.

I was enjoying your trip to Disney World so much that I had forgotten that you hadn’t got onto the ship yet!

And the really fragile stuff in the kitchen I'm packing into my car to drive there myself
I apologize if you know this already, but open containers from the bathroom or kitchen can’t/ should not be packed. Nor can alcohol.
I have experienced cinnamon and rice loose in boxes. At that time, we were poor, and wanting to save money. It’s worth it to buy a fresh container in Florida!

First picture is the Egg Boxes packed in NJ. That was just some of them, there were many more.
I thought the term “egg boxes” referred to some special American container. Then I saw the photo!
We have mostly done military moves, where packers and movers come in. It’s still horrible, but much less horrible than it could be. I can unpack and have everything set up in 3 days.

After breakfast, we slowly made our way to the Indiana Jones show. It was fun, but so short! Did they change it? I feel like I remember a bit with audience participation and also a plane catching on fire. Am I thinking of another show?
No, you remember correctly! I think that the audience participation was a Covid casualty.

Susan and I will put together a large fruit tray, and we are making chocolate wands.
Can you detail the chocolate wand making process? I am relatively new to being a Nana, and I think that would be fun to do!

It was snowing lightly when I walked the dog. That wasn’t so bad, but the wind whipped the snow around.
There are advantages to cats.

@Ozark_Kid Your garden is fantastic!
I checked my garden. I didn’t think anything was coming up yet- and then I saw a very small crocus!

One of my favourites is adult beverages on the terrace at the Nomad Lounge. Favourite rides- Tower of Terror, Rock and Rollercoaster, Flights of Passage, Expedition Everest, Guardians of the Galaxy, anything Star Wars related…
The only thing that I am not allowed to ride is It’s a Small World. Well, I could, but no one will come with me.

I was actually going to ask about the renting of points.
Do either of you have a site to recommend for renting? My friends and I made a quick stop in Animal Kingdom Lodge yesterday and it sparked a conversation about DVC resorts and which ones we’d like to stay in one day as part of a split stay.
I rented out points once through David’s Vacation Club Rental (I think that’s the name). They take rental requests and people that want to rent, and much them up.
From the owner perspective, it was fast and easy. If you have specific requests, make sure you ask at the point of booking your stay- near the elevators, specific floor etc.

Glad to hear!! Enjoy the rest of your Disney trip!! We are DVC members but haven’t been to a park since 2015. I miss it!
Are you renting your points? We own at the Boardwalk- we skipped several years, and went back last year. We were considering selling, but had such a good time that we’re not going to! Besides, our adult kids like us having it.
Anyhow, back to laurieal’s review!

We always talk about new series and movies, but just watched one of my favorite old westerns John Wayne in She wore a yellow ribbon, never get tired of seeing a great old movie like this .
I love classic movies! Any other recommendations? Preferably ones where the villains are punished and everyone else lives happily ever after!

Disneys Polynesian hotel is beautiful inside and whatever smell they pump into their lobby I want in my home!
Check out the gift shop- I got a candle that smells like the Boardwalk resort, so the Mouse has thought of that!

Happy Friday, all!
I have a question for our posters who live in Australia, Canada,England and Israel. A report on TV this AM caused me to be curious.
Is the production of electric cars being promoted in your countries?
According to the report, there has been a great demand for such vehicles in the US.
Thank you- @aussielozzie18, @A&L_Ont, @grapau27, and @dani negreanu
MJ🙋🏻♀️
They are heavily promoted, for the reasons that A&L Ont said.
We might go to one for a round town commuter car, but Saskatchewan has long distances without charging stations. I don’t think it’s practical for that reason. And I haven’t seen a lot of electrically powered farm equipme
I believe that it’s a rural vs city thing.

I just found out this morning that I have a squamous cell carcinoma on my thigh. Bummer. The doctor will be doing an excision later in the month.
Best wishes for the cancer to be totally excised with nothing else required!

@StanleyandGus Sorry to continue a bit, but I was wracking my brain trying to remember the testing laboratory that I used without purchasing anything in advance. It was Western Analytics. All online, no kits or mailers needed. : https://www.asbestostesting.com/index.html Taking the sample, Ziplock bag, fill out the form, pay online.
This is a good article, too: https://thecraftsmanblog.com/popcorn-ceilings-what-you-need-to-know/
And anything to take my mind off packing. 😄
Thank you!
We’re kind of in procrastination phase of home renovation for this project. It may replace regrouting floors as our least favourite job!

I tried to get a picture of my sparkly ceiling- I don’t know that it came out. We have several rooms of that. Beneath the sparkly ceiling, the rooms really suit us, so we are resigned to renovating.
Our house is not open plan, and we like it that way. We’re fond of each other, but we have no desire to spend every second together!
@Coralc , we will definitely have the ceiling analyzed- it’s not likely that there’s asbestos, but it’s possible. And we will definitely remove the ceiling before we put in new floors!

Royal Caribbean Cruisers -- How Are Things Where You Are? (was "Routine" 😁 day in lockdown... how was yours?)

We haven’t had to put on the air conditioning, but I have a question- ours sits on the ground. Is there an advantage to having it on a bracket attached to the house? I guess it would be easier to clean around, but functionally?
We have a heavy tile roof which tends to keep the house comfortable, but last year the ac was on pretty much all summer due to wildfire smoke. Hoping for a better and slightly rainier summer!
