  1. We tried Azamara last year we loved the food service and the fact that everything was included. But and it was a big but for us there was not much to do in the evening. We have decided that We prefer the buzz on Celebrity when we leave the retreat area. However we are trying the new Sun Princess before our Apex TA next year. The new Sun has a designated suite area and restaurant it will be our first time on Princess. The recent decisions by X have resulted in us looking elsewhere.
  2. @TMLAalum HI we too have cancelled or rather moved our May 25 cruise from Hawaii to Vancouver. The big island was the only port. Decided we will do a full vacation there. So switched to the Apex TA in March 25 and gave up over $800 OBC due to the new rules, but hey ho. we looked to book the previous 7 day sailing making it a B2B but decided to try the Sun Princess. A new ship with a dedicated suite area and over £2000 cheaper. Princess include Wi-Fi for 4 devices tips 2 speciality dining and a drink package. Would never have considered any other line but for all the recent changes.
  3. @the penguins A very good summary of how Mr. Branson operates, he is very good at PR.
  4. Hi Charla, I always look forward to to your reviews and posts. Similar to you the new changes have not gone down well. We sailed on Azamara in October as we too will not pay the crazy prices that X are now charging. The ship was lovely the food and service were amazing and because we were in a continental suite we had a number of extra perks. EG: laundry (complimentary) came back on hangers all pressed. However the ship just felt too small for us, there was no Casino and we definitely missed the different spaces and lounges on the X ships. We have not booked any new X cruises, we moved a cruise booked on board from Hawaii to a TA on the Apex. We looked at the prior sailing to make it a B2B but the retreat price was over £500 per night. So we had a look and decided on the Sun Princess. They have introduced a new suite class with a private lounge restaurant etc. Also included are Wi-Fi Drinks upto $20 and Gratuities for a cost of £325 per night. So let us wait and see, we may book AQ on S class but will not be paying the retreat prices.
  5. Try and book the first cabin on the hump the balconies are huge, if we can afford it the corner sky suites on the S class are amazing but I would be more than happy with the hump cabins. There are also som cabins such as 1552 (Aqua) which also have huge balconies
  6. Just had a call back due to an email to Corporate, was told that there will be no up charges for drinks in the retreat lounge or sun deck. But outside of the retreat if the price is above $17 I will be charged. Think I will just ask the waiter to go get my drink from the retreat lounge 😂😂😂👍
  7. We usually book whilst on board and usually will have at least 4 or 5 bookings. However, we have a B2B in March and have moved one from Sept 24 to March 25 which we may cancel altogether depending on our experience on our next cruises. For March 25 I have looked at the new Sun Princess for the exact same dates the signature suites are $2200 cheaper per couple than a similar SS. But included is Drinks upto $20, WiFi for 4 devices, Tips and complementary laundry. Because I booked on board I can simply move it on and maybe wait for a good deal or things may change with Celebrity who knows. I also did some dummy bookings on our 11 night Beyond sailing to the Panama Canal because I was inundated with move up offers. Prior to final payment the ship was full and no new bookings could be made. Today this is what is available; 83 insides, 4 OV, 25 balcony, 8 Concierge 10 Aqua , 28 Sky suite, 4 Aq Suite 6 CS, 1 RS, 1 EV and at least 1 PH. That is a lot of cabins empty I have never seen this many balcony and above cabins available for sailings during March. What also surprised me was the number of inside cabins empty. I intend to look at other sailings and see if this is mirrored over other sailings. It seems people are voting with their feet.
  8. I am very sorry but I do not agree with this 😂😂😂😂😎 Merry Christmas ☃️☃️
  9. We have sailings booked in March in Sky Suites and also have one booked for May 25 which we may change. BUT and it is a big but we have looked at sailings for March 25 as we are thinking of moving our May booking. Almost all the sailings we have looked at have most sky suites available (all edge class ) never seen this before. We are seriously thinking if the service is not what we were used to receiving that we will be spending our $$$’s elsewhere. What I don’t understand is that they had a great product which consumers loved, they then changed it which those same consumers seem to hate. i am also hearing that Decoy is now priced higher than the cost of a drink in the premium package. Corporate suicide it seems I cannot figure it out. I will wait and see but there are plenty of choices, we tried Azamara in October. The experience was good the food much better but the ship was just too small so maybe Haven or Yacht Club who knows. We will wait and see.
  10. What a great and positive review although dining at 5-15 would not be my choice i look forward to more reviews. Your style is great thought I was on board with you.
  11. Hi Charla hope you are well have you had a chance to finish your fantastic review
  12. Hi Jim i just turn on the silence all unknown calls, if someone needs to speak to me and I do not have their number they will usually leave a message.
  13. Hi Jim I love reading your reviews and you pictures and writing style are excellent. But your last live review had over 7000 posts and for me I do not really want to scroll through hundreds of posts that repost your pictures and say hi, sorry I just want to read your experience. So here is a suggestion is it possible for you to start a second thread for those that wish to ask questions etc. Hope I do not offend anyone. Have a great trip
  14. Hi Great review seems like we are sailing with you. What if any are the incentives to book a future cruise on board thanks
  15. We are on the Onward now and all I can say is that the service, food, staff are still top notch. The ship is in fantastic condition our cabin steward and butler are fantastic. The food is wonderful from the buffet to the speciality restaurants. we last sailed on the Quest pre Covid and although the web site still needs some fixing the onboard experience is better than ever. Our status was recognised and our OBC was there. Now if only the clouds would disappear and the sun shines 👍
  16. One thing that could be improved is the booking process. Why do I need to provide all my details before I can see what cabins are available. I just leave the site.
  17. Hi Jeremiah, Seabourn will never be cheaper than an inside on Celebrity or an inside on any other mainstream cruise line. But for the folks that wish to sail in suites they are in many many cases 😎
  18. Ok Cunard do Transatlantic cruises Southampton to New York what about a transpacific cruise San Diego to Honolulu then stay in Hawaii for one or two weeks then sail back to San Diego.
  19. I am just looking at our cruises in March and neither show Luminae open for lunch on sea days 😱
  20. What has happened to lunch menus on sea days, is the restaurant closed

    OBC Issues

I had a similar issue and followed some advice I read on here. Log into your AZ account and fill in the form that allows you to request your account be updated. It will take about 10 days for everything to update maybe a bit quicker now.
  22. Thank you we are not very needy but like to have breakfast on our balcony and a nice bottle of wine to be available other than that I can get coffee or water 👍
  23. You too have a great day and thank you for the nice reply I guess no one will know before we cruise again but these changes are concerning.
  24. Why be so belligerent, my comment was not about coffee it was about our butler bringing breakfast to our cabin and I was just making a comment that if the service we had experienced in the past was no longer available. We really enjoyed that experience it was far superior than the service we had experienced in a balcony and Aqua cabin. We have 2 cruises booked in 2024 and will see if the changes impact our perception of the added value of sailing in a suite. Hope you enjoy all your cruises on X as we will most certainly enjoy ours. But we will be looking elsewhere if we decide the cuts in service that we are accustomed to affect our enjoyment. For example it seems that on sea days lunch in any restaurant has been cancelled and the only venue open will be the Ocean View Cafe, but sorry I do not like to eat in buffets. The reason being is that over the years I have seen too many people pick food up look at it and then put it back. I have also seen people pick food up with their hands, eat it lick their fingers and the pick another item up. Each to their own and I really hope you enjoy your vacations.
