  1. wow very pretty thanks for sharing. seems like a great place to canoe!!!
  2. wow very nice. How long would it take me to come up from PA. If lived near you I would be a nice stalker. ha ha Enjoy you nice home
  3. how do you like parking away from the town and a bit out of sight? I hear this is happening?
  4. HAL ships are nicely made but the cruise line needs to try to become more family oriented to compete with RCI and CCL. I for one like the idea of a slower pace and less sports, but hey the market is what it is. Younger folks under 40 want action packed trips. Time will tell for some of the older HAL ships though.
  5. well I think that since some buildings were torn down nearby perhaps they should consider building another garage. From what I have heard, parking can be an issue if you arrive too early like before 10:30 especially if on the Oasis. Need to let departing guest drive off. I am doing both Adv (Sept) and Oasis (Oct). I have always parked in garage so it should be interesting what happens for Adv. My car likes the garage and if I have to pay for the uncovered lot, it should be less money IMHO
  6. hey Disney is still a great place to visit and ya do not have to take a test beforehand. That is why I went last fall 3 times instead of cruises. I only did one and that I drove to for Anthem.
  7. sorry to hear this. I was on the ship June 11 and some guys two doors down were tested positive and luggage in the hall. But trying to find out what all was in store for them was a big dang secret. I ask security, I ask room steward and a few other on the ship, seems like it is a subject that is kept hush hush. Just like why Mama Mia was not on the week of June 11th and half of the prior week. I asked many times folks who would be in the know working in various venues and at the customer services desk, I got 4 different answers. And the CD was very quiet on the subject. I agree with you on the ice show being excellent as well as Jeff Tracta show. Food in the WJ was really good as well as solarium. I did not see any staffing issues either. I was happy to see the wooden chairs on the stern behind Aqua theatre as Symphony had a different setup and Wonder and zero chairs in the stern. Well hope wife feels better soon. toodles Off to sail on NCL in two weeks god willing with airplanes and weather and testing.
  8. YES YES best to come in the day before. I was on the Allure of the Seas 6/11-19 and my flight to Ft Lauderdale was good on the 10th. At dinner my tablemates had issues with the same flight on 11th. The plane was in FLA and no crew. They had to quicky book flight from Newark instead of Phila and drive like crazy. So now many things can and do go wrong. Missing planes, crew, weather etc etc. Best to go first flight of the day and the day before. And since I live in PA I like to go to Bayonne NJ and drive. Well have a nice trip. I am sailing Solo on Equinox in early November. I have sailed on close to 30 cruises in my life and all but one was solo. I take a good book and I do shore excursion through the ship. I also like how NCL has the best solo rooms of any cruise line. toodles
  9. Yes I agree at some point just move on and survival of the fittest. Some many diseases and crime and weather issues everywhere, just do the best you can in life. Not to mention climate change. I mean in a few years Iceland and Alaska will look different as well.
  10. wishing you good luck. And I think that having issues with Celebrity is all about you having issues with passport and YOU asking Celebrity if YOU can have your cruise moved to another. I think this is a reasonable request to ask Celebrity. If you are not asking for money back, then they should accommodate you. I would get in touch with the passport office and make an appointment. And for all others, when your passport is 9 months from expiring, immediately apply (unless you have a trip during that time so you need to watch your timing)
  11. well starting with the Koningsdam they made the promenade around the outside of ship narrower. But I have heard the newer ships have wonderful music venues as well.
  12. wow going on the Queen Mary from Brooklyn. have a nice time. Will you post onto HAL or will you post onto Cunard. I have heard mixed reviews on Cunard.
  13. hey just back from my cruise and I noticed you changed the name back to Fleet report/daily and I was curious as to why you made the change. Love anything with Penne Pasta. Had a good time on Allure except the broadway who cast was ill from food poisoning so this makes the 2nd ship in 6 weeks I did not get to see the broadway show. The other was on Symphony. Also given how much RCI is about sports and stuff, might be time to book again with HAL
  14. well you sound like a very considerate person. Frankly the setup is bad IMHO
  15. and that is exactly why I cancelled all my Euro cruises back in January as I predicted this would happen, I have done Wonder, Symphony and Allure in FLA since early April and felt mostly safe and did not hear a lot of coughing. I would say about 20% of passengers wore masks. Some folks nearby (last week on Allure) were tested on the next to last day and had to quarantine. I heard them say they had no fever and just mild symptoms. Now I guess they are in hotel for a few days. But honestly it took me asking quite a few crew members and/or staff as to what would happen. Even security did not know the answer. And guest services was a bit secretive too. In fact I am more and more amazed how little those working on the ship know or will share. So for me, here in the USA and going out of ports, I feel a lot of folks are into Do not ask Do not tell unless you have a fever and are really feeling bad. I am glad I wore my mask 90% of the time and also on plane. Perhaps masks should be word in at least elevators and also showrooms. And if folks are really coughing, crew should escort them to medical at least IMHO
  16. I guess I should say each cruisetour as an assigned number like 4C of 5A. So make sure you all have the same tour as each ship going 1 way between Vancouver and Seward might have 7-11 different tour packages.
  17. you have to book at a cruisetour so filter on 10 days or more and you will see them come up with the land portion and the itinerary.
  18. I agree the location is lousy. I would have been tempted to try, but the stares of folks and the breeze from folks walking by would be a turn off. Oh and if you want to do Wonderland, save it if Symphony of the Seas with the nicer view.
  19. yes there is a pattern" Sovereign class - 3 Vision class - 6 Voyager Class - 5 Freedom Class - 3 Oasis Class - 6 Quantum Class - 5 let us not forget Radiance Class as 4 so will Icon be like any of the above. time will tell
  20. I just got off the allure, symphony and Wonder, and so I am ready to return to Disney. I kinda got tired of the Promenade that indeed did feel like a mall. But each ship had a neat car at the one end and I liked the smash up VW bug on Symphony. I like all the things listed above, no casino, Castaway island, and also great areas on ship for kids. Oh and free sodas for everybody. Their specialty dining is als good on Disney. One thing is on last day, no waiting for luggage tags and no buffet madness, you go to dining room and then walk off the ship when you are done. Disney ships are very clean and believe me I feel the kids on Disney act nicer and behave just a bit better.
  21. wow hard name to pronounce. Wonder if I will have this person in late August. Even so, most captains are very nice and very knowledgeable. some are a bit shy though.
  22. I have been to Coco Cay 3 times this year each with 2 ships, Yes the big Oasis pool can be a bit crowded for a few hours but if one ship arrived 1-2 hours before the other, later in the day it eases up. On area that is no issue at all is where the food is served. They have lots of grills and fixins bar and drinks stations. Easy peasy getting food. I have heard the Thrill park is where lines will form on some of the slides and the first ship in has a the upper hand as well. Make sure you bring water shoes as the sand and cement can get quite HOT at times.
  23. I have done Ovation in 2019 and will go in August for Quantum. I truly liked Ketchikan, but since I just found out from another cc person who takes a lot of photos, that in town of Sitka, you can walk along a path to a national park area that is just beautiful. Been to Sitka twice and did not know about this. So my Quantum is doing this port. I picked Quantum before I knew this as I wanted to try this ship and will be my 3rd in the class. good luck in your choice and if you can, try a B2B between ships and stay in Seattle for a few days in between if need be.
  24. yes it is fun to read and guess what all is happening at the ship yard. Over on NCL they had the same thread type for their new ships back in 2018 and 2019. Still unsure if Icon will be bigger than Oasis class through. who knows. And the how many ships in Icon class. And then what is after Icon. Always something to look forward to and discuss
  25. Just got off the allure and docking in Curacao is right in town. Just a short walk into town, I would say about 15-20 mins to the fort area. Lots of nice tours. I did the "Beauties of Curacao" tour which was really very good. Aruba is also a docked port as well.
